My Whols Family were patients of Dr. Claudia Bevin the the last 25 + years . Her practical ? no non sense approach to dentistry was drew my family to The Premier Dental Group in Avon Lake. This September 24th I happened to see Dr. Bevin and her beautiful daughter shop at Crocker Park in Westlake , Ohio I asked her if there was any opening in early October and she was so kind and told me to call the office , which I promptly did and the front office promptly said if I could do October 8th At 10 Am , I jumped on it and said yes and soon after my husband & I left for Morocco in the middle of the vacation, there was a message from the front desk saying ti call immediately. since we both don't have any long distance coverage we used What's App to communicate but no response . My Dental Hygienist Kat always glive me a 6 months booking before I leave Dr. Bevin's Premier Dental office in Avon Lake , Ohio . I came in at around 3 Am Tuesday morning , still managed to Call The Pemier Dental Office in Avon Lake , Ohio and asked what is going on .. Ms Amari or was it Amalfi Ciast or whoever , she said that my appointment was pushed to April of 2025 . I was like Kat the hygienist gave an Appointment November 19th was cancelled too was cancelled too !!! I was pissed and jumped in my Acura and confronted a naive young African American Amari / Amalfi Coast , who promptly went to her boss Dr. Claudia Bevin , who jumps on the bandwagon and instead of apologizing for her. Computer error or whatever, she became a si called " Karen " from Vermillion by the Lake . She reaps the benefits of setting up shop in my Avon. Lake and expect me to apologize to her and her staff .. in her dreams guess she is on cigarette's After all they are OSU graduates . My husband is a GI Doctor ( MD ) from NYU and University of Pittsburgh with several degrees under his belt . I have been in Office Manager , but we when Doc Razack was in private practice never pulled ranks . Sam , Pam , Kathy, Mary Beth , they called ran his office liked a fined tuned machine . I just let them do their thing and never pulled rank . The ' Karen 'of Vermillion by the Lake cannot pull their white racist card whenever they feel like ... No Siry Bob , go back to where ever you called out of Dr. Claudia Bevin and never mess up our life , ever again . We are Shoremen Proud Don't expect an apology ever , ypu Pot head from OSU ' Karen ' aka Cladia Bevin of Premier Dental in Avon lake . Instead why don't you apologize to me for hearing you brag about so called super smart brats from Vermillion By The Lake . I wanna barf if I hear her pathetic plea for attention , one more time Actually found a great Dental practice which is 5 star rated right across from Mr . Hero Sandwich shop on Walker Rd , Avon Lake Where a young OSU , handsome dapper double major graduate by the name William Timothy Andrew's and his team at The Dental Studio Of Avon Lake ( aka a fellow Avon Laker ) and his team lead by Sharon and great hygienist Lidya gave me a 5 star treatment . Felt like a million bucks after visiting The Avon Lake Dental Studio , where both young and young at heart are all welcome . Met so many wonderful people there , like Lindsy etc etc .. Sharon. Let me begin with the positives: Dr. Small, and her MEDICAL staff, were great. Gentle, considerate, effective. That is where my positivity ends. After several visits (paid in full and on-time, mind you) and terrible interactions with their rude and acerbic receptionist, my wife and I are opting for another practice. While I understand she is NOT the dentist, I also understand that she is the forward facing employee, the individual you deal with constantly. I, too, assumed she was having a bad day...the first two terrible interactions (both of which my insurance was over-charged for). When I discovered my wife had had independently bad experiences with her as well, the doubt benefit was all used up. The receptionist is rude and condescending, and apparently can't bill correctly. This is hardly the first commentary on this issue. For those of you thinking that she's just a receptionist, and the Office itself is good...remind yourself that the choice of employee is important, and a reflection on the business itself. If you need a good dentist (and a pleasant and accurate bill experience), I would recommend Dr Pyke, all of five minutes East of this location. Remember, this IS a service, and its your money. We love coming here. When we first moved over to this side of town, I asked for some recommendations at work and was told to come here. Dr. Small is fantastic! She's really nice and made my kids feel good about coming to the dentist. The office is was very ean. The receptionist is a little rude at times but I can put that past me because she isn't the dentist. I like that when having things done, Dr. Small talks to you to keep you mind off what is going on. She also tells you what she is doing so you don't get nervous. I had to call once for an emergency visit for my son (tooth was loose but wouldn't come out and he was bleeding everywhere). Dr. Small had us come into the office and she popped that tooth out no problem! I was glad she was available after hours because it was a mini horror show! If you love on this side of town and need a dentist, come here! Don't mind the receptionist. I sure don't. read more

I can't speak for the dental services provided at this office because I didn't get past the extremely rude receptionist. How would I have known that Premier Dental in Avon Lake wasn't affiliated with Premier Dental in Westlake when I asked for an appointment at the Avon Lake location and the rude receptionist responded with horrible attitude and tone, "first of all we don't have a Westlake office"! I kindly responded, I will just call another office. Probably a common mistake since the communities are so close together and dentist commonly open satelite clinics. The dentists seem to be pretty good, but don't bother with this office. The receptionist is extremely rude. I stayed with them for a year, thinking maybe she was just having a bad day, no such luck. Every single time I have had any interaction with her she has been very, very rude. read more

No on likes going to the dentist, but I'm a fan of Dr. Small. She's gentle and delightfully earns her name (world's tiniest hands!) which is great for someone who has to root around in my mouth. The hygienists are OK. Some better than others. As a side note, the one-star review of this place (if it's still online) epitomizes what's wrong with Yelp's review system. read more

I have been going to Dr. Small for many years. I love going to her as she is so friendly. No other dentist is as gentle with their patients. The staff are all incredibly friendly and you can tell they all get along well and enjoy each other. I have never had a problem with the receptionist. I have heard that some who complain are typically those who don't pay their bills or miss several appointments and get rude when she won't accommodate their lack of concern for other's time. By far this is the best dentist I have been to. There is a reason why everyone in our neighborhood recommends them. read more

All the bad reviews are for a receptionist that has no bearing on the level of professionalism of the dentists and hygienists at this office. Dr. Bevan is amazing and re-established a confidence in dentists after a bad experience. She is practical and thorough. I can tell that she's not trying to perform unnecessary treatments and truly wants to help people. read more

I have gone to Dr Bevan for over a year and my teeth are not in great shape. I have had several different procedures done and all were proper with referrals to specialists when needed. Nice Practice in my opinion. read more

It is really unfortunate that this dental practice has the receptionist it has. As has been expressed by other reviewers, the receptionist is extremely rude. I was a patient of this practice a few years ago and I left because even the smallest, most routine interaction with the receptionist was unpleasant and sometimes down right rude. I have a small dental emergency so I called today to schedule an appointment figuring it would be easier to return to a dentist I've seen before and have a relationship with vs. finding a new dentist in the middle of having a dental problem. The interaction with the receptionist was just as horrible as ever. My husband is the most easy going guy around and he too has trouble with this receptionist. He has put up with her in the past because he likes the dentist but this is the end of that. I've tried leaving a message for the dentist so I can speak to her of my concerns. I know from my own experiences and those of others in our community that this is an ongoing problem. I have not had a return call which leads me to believe that either the receptionist is not relaying the message or the dentist really doesn't care about how her practice is handled and regarded. read more

I was appalled with the unprofessionalism of the front desk. I made an appointment 4 months in advance since that was the earliest they could accommodate me, even though I was willing to see anyone for a cleaning. They were given all my information at the time the appointment was made. They never called me for a confirmation the day prior. I receive a phone call 10 minutes before my appointment telling me they don't take my insurance, when they already had all my information on file. I couldn't believe that in the 4 months I had this appointment scheduled they never called me to relay this information. To call 10 minutes (yes I mean 10 minutes-not an exaggeration) before an appointment is absolutely ridiculous and inconsiderate. I was extremely disappointed in this establishment. Hopefully they can learn to be more efficient and organized in the future. Needless to say I will never be returning there. read more

I was told great things about the dentists. I had an appointment at 5:00pm and arrived at 5:06pm. The woman at the counter was rude and not very understanding. She was unbelievable telling because of six minutes my entire appointment was cancelled. It was funny that she was telling me they couldn't see me as she was standing there with her coat on. I think she was more interested in leaving than helping a potential patient. It's too bad I never got to see the dental hygienist or the dentist. I believe that she was able to leave if there wasn't anyone to check in. Because while I was typing this she walked out of the office at 5:30. I'm sure the dentists are great, but good luck getting in to see one. I am not even going to attempt to reschedule if that's how she treats patients. read more

I like Dr Small. However, the receptionist is the most rude and pretentious woman i have ever met. She has no business interacting with the public. I called in for an emergency procedure hoping and praying that this dentist office that I have loyally been treated at for the last 5 years would accomodate me. Not so much! The receptionist was so rude and condescending that if I had not moved from Avon Lake I would go right to Dr. Small and tell her so.
