Barry is a very helpful and honest guy! I once had a lens filter stuck on, and was worried about…read moredamaging the lens by trying to force it off. I brought it in, and he was able to get it off even though it was cross-threaded, at no charge. I've also brought him a couple Olympus lenses to look at, one of which he immediately knew would need to be sent away (Olympus parts cannot be ordered, so if it needs parts vs. just cleaning, it needs to go back to the manufacturer). The other lens, he called me the day after I dropped it off, and also identified it needed to be sent away for repair. I needed it back for a wedding I was shooting soon, and was cutting it very close by sending it away. Due to other commitments, I knew I wasn't going to be able to pick it up until close to his closing time and the cut-off time for the courier. When I arrived, Barry had packaged it up in a box with bubble wrap and packing paper so I could just pick it up and drop it off at the courier! Talk about going above and beyond. He has yet to accept any payment for his diagnosis of my lenses, so I always try to buy something else while I'm in there. When I was looking for old film cameras to use as decor at our wedding, he gave me a bunch that were no longer usable but still nice to look at. So if you want to deal with a friendly camera repairman who will tell you it like it is, and has a great selection of equipment and other accessories, Barry at the Camera House is your guy! When I read the review from Gerry J., I knew I had to chime in and say my piece. :)

However, the thing this location really excels in is customer service. The staff here are great at identifying the difference between browsing and hopelessly lost. Today I was looking for supplies for a craft that took me all over the store and I had not one, not two, but three different staff members help me find what I needed. Seriously impressed. The same goes for checkout: the staff are always helpful with coupons and suggestions. I've never had anything but great service here. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5? Mostly corporate issues that I understand this location can't change. Michaels is terrible for making you feel ripped off with their constant coupons. Obviously everything is incredibly marked up. NEVER go there without a coupon. They almost always have one for at least 40% off a single item. Sometimes they even have ones that cover your whole transaction.

We had Streamline come to rebuild our back two decks. Our house was built in the 1960's so there…read morewas a lot of issues that had to be updated. we started off with Mark coming over and giving us a quote for the work we wanted. He was able to answer all our questions and made alternate suggestions for things that could not be changed within our guidelines and budget. James came over several times to make sure things were running as planned. Peter and Russ were the main two men who "lived' at our house for the entire time - they were awesome. If we had questions, they could answer right away or hook us up to the person who could. There were very professional and focused. The work went quickly and the end results looks amazing! We also had Hannah and Josh come to break up our defective cement patio and remove it all. Hannah surprised me (and the others) at being very capable working the jack hammer! - Good Job. Girl!! Then a new patio was poured and matched up with the rest very nicely. Jack was a whiz laying the vinyl on both decks and it looks great. We are so pleased with the end results. I am sure there were several other crew that I did not get names for but I want to thank you all so very much We had a great view of the city before the renovations but now we have a 2 million dollar view for much less than that to achieve it. Would I suggest Streamline to other people - FOR SURE!! We are already planning our next renovation that needs to be done in the house with their crew:) Of course, the job did not run 100% glitch free - at the beginning we did not get the conversations we wanted with James but when we brought this up to him, he made a point of contacting us when he came to the site each time. We thought we had discussed our wants with Mark fully but when the product planned to be used was pointed out to us, we had more discussions and got things settled to our satisfaction very easily. These Glitches were simple fixes that just required face to face conversation and the crew worked together to make it happen. James' favourite quote to me was "I want you to be happy with the end results" and I definitely am! Thank you Streamline - a great job well done!!

1 of the narrower/shorter windows was not centered and we had to insist they re-install correctly…read more 1 of the windows on the front 5 bay windows was hung lower than other 4. Original metal drip strip was not brought to work site so installers had to get from local building supply. They installed only type available, too wide and raw edge, unsafe. Kitchen window was too high for opening so old garden window removed and new put in with 2 screws 1/2 in and 1/2 out of opening. Home Depot forgot to order replacement windows for scratched ones and when we phoned to see were they were we were told Home Depot would "babysit" replacements. We were told windows arrived 1st week of December. We contacted Streamline to get installation before Christmas but were told wouldn't be till new year. We had to tell Streamline to make sure they came equipped with scaffold so didn't have to stand on roof that had snow & ice on it. They used boards and only 1 guy did install for about a 3' x 5' window. Scary. All the metal trims were replaced in winter so all caulking no good and had to be redone and in spring we finally got flashing replaced with what we wanted and re-caulked. Re-caulking was wrong color so we will have to paint. Smart board used for trim was also too narrow for our siding. Streamline stated that is what everybody used and basically live with it. We will have to paint/seal every piece of siding where it meets the smart board. 1 of the sliders didn't latch properly. Guy from Streamline spent 1 hour trying to fix and told us that was best he could do. Still was sticky. We ended up adjusting latch ourselves, apparently installer didn't know about latch adjuster. We attempted to get Scott from Streamline Enterprises to contact us as we were not happy with finished job. He finally came out and checked job himself and we showed him the problem the new bay window frame had caused on the inside drywall. He sent out installer to fix and he dry walled and the finished job is an absolute joke. I emailed pictures to Scott, who acknowledged that was no way to leave a job and we would hear from them to repair. Still haven't heard. At 1 point during the whole process I told Home Depot I didn't want Streamline Enterprises back on the property and they threatened us by saying if we didn't use Streamline our window warranty would be void. I guess if you buy windows from Home Depot and install yourself there is no warranty? Also the 2 of the upstairs slider windows had different lock catches. Home Depot also supplied 2 xo windows instead of 1 xo and 1 ox. There is more that occurred on almost daily basis. Too much to list. Streamline Enterprises is supposed to be bonded but we had a worker who told us he had only been in Canada for 2 days. I doubt you can vet someone in 2 days.
