Dave, the owner, is great to work with. He is a good listener, conscientious, and has a good eye for design and working with what we have. On the maintenance side, Geronimo is kind and responsive. Their teams are careful and they do their best to leave everything looking great when they are done. In fact, after our recent landscaping, they weeded an area we hadn't asked them to do, which made their new landscaping look even better. It was a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. They seem to work as a great team and have fun together. Their costs are competitive and lead times are reasonable, even during busy seasons. We'll definitely use them again.

June 9, 2026 Over the past six years we've utilized Preferred Landscape Services (PLS) for…read moremultiple projects and have always been pleased with the final product. They installed our beautiful paver patio with a french drain 5 yrs and did an awesome job!! We had no hesitation when scheduling PLS to power wash the patio and replace the polymeric sand. I asked Dave what the power washers PSI was, he indicated it would be a 3,500 PSI. We'd always used a battery operated 450 PSI power washer so I researched the appropriate PSI for washing pavers. Everything I read recommended a 1,000 to 1,500 PSI which caused concern. Given PLS installed the patio and our comfort with their services we trusted PLS and dismissed our concerns. A 4,200 PLS power was used to power washed the patio which severely damaged the edge of multiple pavers. Dave offered to look at the results. His response was "they did exactly what they were suppose to, to clean out all old sand. When he asked "what resolution would satisfy us"? My response was, I wish I would've selected someone else to complete the work. Short of that I wanted PSI to replace the pavers. Dave's response was, "they don't make that color any more". I'd file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau however PLS isn't accredited with the BBB. I also couldn't find PLS on the OR Landscape Contractor Board. We definitely won't be utilizing PLS in the future.

When they kill plants they just ignore the carcasses or stick in the identical replacement, without any learning. You have to be sure they don't use Round Up (check the science on the dangers of glyphosate exposure).

They are truly service-oriented from the moment you reach out to them, and it starts with Dan. He's friendly, responsive and provides detailed estimates immediately for whatever work is needed. We have a 5-zone sprinkler system with a combination of drip lines and sprinklers in the front and backyard. It's a funky arrangement that needed a serious upgrade. His crew (Marvin and Jose) are miracle workers! They are real problem solvers who managed to reroute some existing sprinkler lines, fix several hidden leaks and provide more water coverage in several zones. Marvin and Jose are a joy to watch. They really enjoy their work and it shows. Marvin will even sing while he's putting in new drip lines or tying off others, and nothing seems to faze him. Both men are polite, courteous and appreciative of drinks and snacks while they work. They say "Thank you, so much" every time. After spending the entire day at our home, we tested the system and everything worked well, but there were a few dry spots I noticed the next day. Dan came by today to collect payment and I showed him the areas where water wasn't quite reaching and he said, "No problem." Marvin and Jose will come back to make a few adjustments -- at no extra charge. Best of all, the new parts they install are guaranteed for 5 years instead of one. Who does that? I changed my mind several times resulting in several changes to the contract. David was patient and never showed any signs of frustration with my changes. He was helpful making suggestion for improving on my ideas. David was on-site everyday reviewing the plans for the day with me and the crew and checking the status of work. Everyday David made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. When I had questions, he would immediately address the question and make whatever change or touch-up I wanted. The crew was always on-time and cleaned up after their work. They were easy to work with and were great about touching base with me if there were any questions about the work being performed or any unexpected hiccups that arose such as an unexpected large roots to ensure the work was being done the way I wanted. I love how everything looks and my neighbors haven't stopped complementing my yard. They even commented about how clean everything looked when they finished and how respectful they were regarding neighbor's parking areas and space. After watching them work on my property for a week, one of my neighbors asked for their number to hire David himself. I would absolutely hire David and his team again. Here's a summary of the work his team performed. Excavated, removed, and replaced broken drainage line in the yard. Relocated large boulders from backyard to front yard planting area. Removed shrubs, concrete parking pad, and extra material from the site including old veggie beds, grassy areas being converted to mulch, and weeds. Installed 2 gravel paths, gravel sitting area, 2 retaining walls, vegetable beds, irrigation lines, gravel RV parking area, gravel parking spot, 2 gravel storage areas, 2 drain lines under the gravel, additional river rock border around my grass, rock ring with boulder edge around tree, and planting strips along the driveway. Planted new, and relocated and planted numerous plants including bulbs, grasses, ferns, and shrubs. The bid was highly competitive and excellent value. I strongly recommend David and his team.

I live on a property with 4 free-standing condos. We have a common area that is required by the HOA…read morerules to be maintained. I has asked for a quote for the entire property, including all 4 private fenced-in areas. They replied with a quote of around $400, so I accepted and paid the fee. Then, they upsold me on the added weed-killer treatment, so I paid more for that. Then I was advised they had to come out a few days before the yard work to do the treatment, so I agreed. They came out and sprayed for weeds, but missed several spots and completely missed the private areas, however, I did not even realize they only did the common area until later. Additionally, they sprayed my neighbor's very beautiful ground cover in the parking strips in their driveway and killed the entire large patch of plants! Later that week, they came to finish the yardwork, and much to my dismay, when I returned home, they had missed the private areas. Also, I could not tell any difference in the common area from before they had allegedly done the work. Also, to my confusion, they had not touched the private areas! The yard people we paid much less money we had before did the entire property, and I mean they were out there for 5 straight hours, raking up all pine needles and hauling them away and really making the place sparkle. I looked at my RING Camera and watched them. These guys were out there for less than one hour. Didn't rake up anything and missed many weeds all over the ground! I'm not even sure what they actually did, since everything looked the same. I contacted the company and they were a little dismissive about it all. I advised them that my quote request was not just for the common area, but for the entire property, and I even showed them in the original email request. The only reply was basically, "oops, sorry", and a new quote for around $1200!!! I also informed them they killed all of my neighbor's ground cover plants, they didn't seem to care much about that, either. Additionally, we discussed the lack of actual effort put forth by the work crew, and again, just "sorry". I was going to remain silent and just chalk it up to having made a VERY BAD decision by hiring this company and apologize to my neighbors, profusely. However, just the other day, I received a bill from them after months of silence. So, I am here to warn anyone reading. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!
