Jerry seemed very nice and thorough when he did our home inspection. Unfortunately for us, we feel that he missed many things around our home, including the fact that the new floor (1 - year old) was failing through our home. We got hit with an extremely expensive fix the week after we moved in. He said the floor must have failed between the 60 days of when he inspected the home and when we moved in. I've had several other contractor laugh at the notion and every flooring expert we had out to the house said that was just not possible. We also have a walk through video my husband shot during the open house that we can now see some of the gapping in the floor. Jerry said that was just the lighting in the video, not the gapping. That was just the beginning. He also missed a huge water pressure issue and flagging some asbestos issues for further review. Among other things. He did catch quite a bit of things, but after the sticker shocked experienced from the missed items, the negatives outweigh the positives in our case. Also, don't be foolish like we were and use an inspector referred to by your agent. Get your own...someone who truly is working for you. Do yourself a favor an get a CREIA-certified inspector. There are no government agencies looking after these inspectors, and almost any person off the street can throw on a badge and call him/herself an inspector. It can cost future homeowners a ton of money if inspections are not done properly. read more

The good: We went with Jerry and his services because they gave us a better quote than a competitor and we liked that they were able to respond quickly. My relator referred me to him. They were very thorough and we found our inspection to be very insightful. The report came back and was clear to read and understand with supporting photos and explanations to each requirement as well as their suggestion. For someone who doesn't know a lot about homes, like myself, I thought this was immensely useful and user friendly. The bad: The bad was that they found a ton of repairs we needed from the house's owner. This is bad for us but overall a good indicator of a good inspection. The interesting: We wanted an inspection on a certain date that he wasn't available so he said he could send one of his staff members that he trained but we ended up just choosing a date that fit his schedule so that he could do the inspection himself. read more

Our real estate agent recommended Jerry Stonger at Preferred Inspection Services when we were purchasing our condominium in February of 2020. We used Jerry, he did a thorough inspection of our future home, and came up with some items that the seller addressed. A very large construction project directly across the street throughout 2021/2022 caused some vibrations and shaking of our condo - when they demolished the old foundation. The vibrations went on for the better part of a month. It was no fun - like going through multiple small earthquakes throughout the day. We share the same "rock" substrate as our neighbors. We thought for piece of mind, we would hire Jerry to just inspect our foundation, and make a comparison to his previous inspection from 18 months earlier. His charge was about 50% of what we had paid for the full inspection. I knew he would only be here for 15 to 20 minutes, and I was okay with paying that fee. There was no discussion of any potential legal action, as we were pretty sure that Jerry would not find any foundation issues. We just wanted his expertise to offer us some solid satisfaction. Jerry arrived on October 18, 2022, after confirming in late September via email that a confirmation findings report would be included. He spent about 20 minutes with me, which was the time I anticipated. Before he left, he confirmed with me that I would receive his written report via email within a day or two. I followed up via email with Jerry on October 21, asking for the report. Then again on November 15 - right after he cashed my check. Then again on December 6th. The string of emails included all of these requests, and correspondence back and forth before the October 18 meeting - so there was no wrong email issue. I sent a final request yesterday on February 7th, informing Jerry that I would be writing a review of what has transpired. I have no idea why Jerry confirmed a report was forthcoming, but never wrote it, or sent it. All my emails were ignored - there is no other explanation. This was a piece of mind situation. Jerry reneged on what he promised on the front end, and was paid in full for his service and expertise. We are disappointed customers, and surprised we were treated this way. read more

Highly recommend! We used Jerry for our home inspection three years ago and had a great experience. We recently upgraded to a bigger house and specifically requested for Jerry to do the inspection on this house, too.
