The optometrist there is wonderful, but their customer service is absolutely horrible. You cannot get ahold of anyone, or you are left on hold until they just hang up on you, or they forget to let you know that your glasses are ready, so you just wait for weeks etc. The list is endless. I have been going there for a while with my husband and kids, but we are going to change our doc just because of the customer service. If you have nerves of steel and all the time in the world, that's a place for you. My Son accidentally hit me in the eye and I was very worried something was wrong. It was red, puffy, irritated, and tearing. I called the office and they got in me in about 1.5 hrs. They were fast and so kind. Dr. Click gave me numbing eye drops and an eye band aid for a 3mm tear in my cornea. Instant relief and not even costly. This was late Friday so my Halloween weekend would have been ruined. I can't thank the staff enough. This is also every experience I have there, not just today! Very thankful for them!!! read more

The doctor is nice but the old lady working there was rude to my daughter characterizing her saying she wastes money if she doesn't wear the glasses. She has never met my daughter and that statement upset her. Also tried to charge us over our copay without looking at our insurance benefits. Someone else had to show her that she was wrong. I finally said I don't want the contacts and she said "how are you going to get them" this is actually none of her business. Also not sure why a "contact fitting fee" is $126 we have never been charged this fee before. Save yourself the headache and find another office. read more

My first appointment here about a year ago was fine, however very overpriced and there were so many excessive fees and steps that needed to be taken. Also, they are hardly ever open so it is nearly impossible to get an appointment or speak to someone on the phone. They failed to respond to a few of my voicemails asking about available appointment times. If you want to go to an eye doctor who's available for 4 hours on weekdays then these are your people. This place has no flexibility for those who maybe are traveling and need to postpone appointments and are not willing to accommodate or compromise with anyone. My family has been using this practice since we moved to the area two years ago. We love the doctor. My kids look forward to going and we've always had very thourough exams. Unfortunately, we have equally frustrating experiences with the reception staff. They are polite but extremely slow when ringing out and not always good about calling back. My sons glasses were never properly fitted despite two attempts. We actually had them fixed at another shop. When picking up new lenses for frames they are not checked for accuracy or fit. Recently we received new lenses that were not transitions as they should have been. The employee who made the error made no apologies or offered any solution. She just said "well, you weren't charged for transitions". So, while we stuck it out for love of the dr, we will sadly be taking our business elsewhere in future. read more

I found the staff very courteous, friendly, and helpful. I had a prescription in hand but my vision insurance wasn't going to be in place for two months. The staff assisted me in purchasing a pair of classes that had basic distance correction for a very reasonable price to hold me over until I could order the full progressive transitions after I my vision insurance became active. It was just what I needed. Last week I had my eye exam with Dr. Click, who was very thorough, pleasant, and always explaining the procedures she was doing and asking if I had any questions. Again the staff assisted me in selecting my options that best fit me for the new glasses. Just what I needed. I have just moved to Mt Pleasant and am in need of new doctors. I needed to reorder contacts so I searched Angie's List for eye doctors. Preferred Eyecare Center is very near my home and received high ratings on Angie's List, so I called them to first see if they accepted my insurance (they did) and to make an appointment. Their web site is excellent and detailed, so it knew ahead of time exactly what to expect upon arrival at my appointment. I filled out a few medical form as a new patient, then proceeded to several preliminary eye tests before seeing Dr Click. Once she saw me she took her time with, and listened to me. She gave me an un-rushed and thorough exam and answered all my question. I wear toric mono-vision contacts and had to make a rather rare and potentially difficult change to which lens went in which eye, as well as update my prescription and change brands of contacts. Dr Click nailed it all first try! I was impressed, and you should be too. Dr Click and her entire staff treated me courteously and professionally. I will continue to see Dr Click annually, and as otherwise needed, and I whole-heartedly recommend Preferred Eyecare Center. One more thing; appointments can be made either by phone or online. Once made, I receive both a robo-call and email reminder, and both allow me to respond by either confirming or canceling my appointment. I like the reminders, and the extra service. read more

Horrible experience from start to finish. I've been wearing glasses for over 40 years and, each interaction with this store, was worse than the last. When I went to pick out my new glasses there was a large dog, running loose, in the establishment. He was obviously nervous as he was barking as people came in. No one attempted to move him out of the waiting area as I had my granddaughters with me. I mentioned he seemed nervous and was told "he's just nervous around strangers". Next, there was a back and forth as the lab had not made my glasses correctly and they had to be sent back to be remade. Totally understandable because mistakes happen yet it was my PD that was the issue. Today they told me they couldn't give me my PD (pupil distance). Literally the first time in 40 years that I'm being told this. This is my personal medical information yet I'm being told they can not give it to be, after I already purchased glasses from this establishment. Any one of these items would be something I would just chalk up to a bad day, but withholding my PD did it for me. Now I have to go back to my optometrist to make sure my PD is correct in these glasses. read more

I found Preferred Eyecare Center in my community and was pleasantly surprised at the customer service I received. Dr Click was fabulous as was the receptionist (Doug). Everything was explained to me in advance and the service was very timely. The only thing I would change was the selecting of frames part of the appointment. I wish I had known the prices up front. I never realized how expensive prescription glasses were. I was so satisfied with my care that I transferred my child and wife from another practice to Dr Click. I was in and out of the building in no time and my wait time was less than 5 minutes. read more

Preferred eye care started off great with a detailed website, online form, close to my home. Rec'd text message reminders-I thought these folks really have it together. Got there early, was seen on time, the visit with the doctor was great-she is very detail oriented. Then when I was escorted up front the nightmare began. FRUSTRATING OPTIONS: The front office had pre-selected frames for me (possibly the ones they could not sale) - not even close to my current frame. I told the girl, I would like to pick out a frame similar to the one I had. Not everyone needs change to an hideous color or crazy design. Once I picked out the classic style frame and chose the normal for me transition lens and anti glare proof. The clerk measured my eyes. SUBPAR CUSTOMER SERVICE: Then my service was handed off to another clerk. This clerk was in charge of my check out (which took over an hour to put in the computer-when I got up I could not walk because my leg was asleep). At one time, the clerk had me tallied up with 12 transition lens charge for one pair of glasses. Finally, she was sure she had gotten the order in right (Of course, after taking a couple of business calls and two long personal calls). Once I paid and got both receipts I was finally able to leave -- plan on 2.5-3 hours for one transaction. RIP OFF PRICING: Final bill for a normal pair of black frame glasses with transition and anti glare lens was $940.00 with insurance deduction, I was able to pay out at $685. High price, normally pay $350 anywhere else. Maybe they have an excellent lens crafter that rocks the lens world, don't know. My glasses will not come in until first week in September. Based on my experience: I will say good doctor, over priced charges, and limited staff professionalism. read more

This review is for the eyewear store, not the doctor. The employees were extremely unreasonable and I honestly felt like I was being scammed. They continuously tried to upsell me on things that I did not want. The worst part about it is that they did not tell me about the "features" they were adding to my lenses and that I had other (cheaper) options. Further, when I figured out that I could get a less expensive lense or anti-glare (by doing my own research on the internet) and I asked them to reprice my glasses with different options it would take them at least 45 minutes each time. The employees were very slow at using the computer and seemed to be unwilling to help me find a pair of glasses within my budget constraints. I went to about 3 other stores and for the same frame price range and same lenses the overall cost was MUCH cheaper everywhere else. They are clearly not interested in working with the customers but instead on trying to take advantage of people that do not realize there are other options available on frames/lenses. read more

My experience with Dr. Click and her staff over the past 6 plus years has been outstanding. I have found Dr. Click to be very professional yet personable in every interaction. She has consistently taken the time required to fully explain her findings following each exam, ensure all my questions are answered, and make recommendations for further care as needed. My interaction with the current staff has been limited to adjustments to current glasses, but I have had no concerns in this area. The staff has consistently been friendly, courteous, and helpful. I utilized this location initially due to the convenient location. Despite relocating from Mt Pleasant, I continue to see Dr. Click based on the excellent service provided to me and my family. read more
