Asking for a refund, the answer was no. Asking to have them done 'in house' was a no. Could I get credit for designer frames. No. It is a different business. I explained to front staff,, Katie that my insurance said it was covered; she just kept going back and forth with me answering no. If my insurance tells me one thing and you're telling me another, you should have a better explanation. Also opthalmologist, Dr Coker, insisted on my wearing certain contacts. I have been wearing contacts for many years and find it disturbing that she told me she would rather me wear a certain brand. Maybe they get kickbacks for selling certain brands? I felt like I was being nickle and dimed and being told what to do with my money. FYI- All other reviews appear to be for a different doctor, Dr Bodkin. I was not given an option of doctors. This however is the same business, same office pictures, same address and telephone number.

I showed up having pre-registered online, but we found it easier for her to just copy my cards the old-fashioned way. Kacie is an all-knowing, troubleshooting peach. Checked in and had all my eye measurements taken by a lovely lady who enjoys Chick-fil-A, tell her I went to Mozzo and ordered too much! Anyway, Dr. Schaeffer then came to discuss options, measure again, and put some trial contacts in my eyes to see what I would see. She was kind, honest, and obviously knew what she was doing. I talked to a delightful redheaded lady in financing and she told me everything. I had good options so left with my head buzzing, able to see around me without glasses for the first time in years. I was so excited. I came back after a few days to bad news. Lasik is not an option. I have to wait to get cataracts and then get new lenses during that surgery. But Dr Schaeffer gave me a glasses prescription and contacts prescription and everyone was just so kind. I was a bit heartbroken. But they're now my new optometrist. Everything comes around. My goal was not to seek treatment for a current eye problem, but rather to understand what I can do now to reduce my risk in the future. I wanted to discuss questions such as whether certain vitamins are beneficial, whether therapies like red light therapy have any evidence behind them, and what lifestyle changes or preventive measures are supported by research. When I scheduled the appointment, I was assured that I would be able to meet with a doctor to have this discussion. However, after arriving, I was told that I could not see the physician unless I first completed a full series of medical imaging and diagnostic tests. I was told they needed pictures of my eyes before they could even have a conversation with me. I found this extremely frustrating. While I understand that imaging is appropriate when evaluating or diagnosing an eye condition, I wasn't there because I was experiencing symptoms. I was there to receive education and guidance on prevention. It seems counterproductive that a specialist would refuse to discuss evidence-based ways to reduce risk simply because I declined diagnostic testing that wasn't the purpose of my visit. Preventive medicine should be encouraged. Specialists have an opportunity to educate patients before disease develops, especially when there is a significant family history. Instead, I left feeling that the focus was on requiring procedures before providing even basic medical guidance. Had I been told when scheduling that a consultation was contingent upon undergoing diagnostic imaging, I could have made an informed decision before taking time out of my day. Unfortunately, that expectation was never communicated, making the experience both disappointing and misleading.
