Jason the owner was gracious enough to spend a good amount of time with me explaining to me how these warranty companies work and what to look for and what to ask and he gave me a few recommendations. You know it's really nice of him to take the time out of his day to give me all these tips and I'm not even a customer. Just goes to show that this place is really a genuine place to go because they don't have your business and they're treating me this good. he also mentioned whenever you get a used car always come in and get an overall check which is $89. This way you get an out side true review of the car you are buying not just what the dealer is telling you. I never thought about doing that but I can see where the value would be totally with it. Brakes were fine, just dust build up, so no charge and appreciated. However, I was charged $531.95 for the alternator part alone (GM part #20911162), before labor/tax/fees. The same exact part number is available from Amazon ($199.70), GMPartsGiant ($268.81), and GMPartsClub ($318.59) -- all about half off what I paid, even accounting for normal shop markup over retail. Labor ($192) was fair. I wasn't shown itemized part pricing before authorizing the repair. Ask for the exact part number and price breakdown before agreeing to a repair here, or get a second quote. If you don't, expect to pay completely avoidable and unneccesary markups.

No one was manning the front desk for a good 5 minutes yet left stacks of keys on the desk with no one watching them. Thats a very careless thing to do. When I was finally checked in, the older man told the technician to take someone else's car first (which took over 30 minutes) because my car was going to be a piece of cake??? Seriously? Why not take the piece of cake. Also, why discuss that in front of a customer with an appt? Also, since I was the only one waiting, ummmmm... you see where this is going. While this may be a great auto shop, this is not the place for inspections. It was one of the slowest inspections I have ever received.

Trying to be fair and balanced with this review. Dorn's was my only option in VA and is over 2…read morehours away. I dropped off my vehicle on Aug 8th and had to uber to Enterprise rentals. My Rivian R1S had a fist sized dent in the rear bumper that I was told would take "1-2 weeks" to repair. I was asked to give them $1,000 up front to pre-order the parts. OK. After the first week I called to see when I could pick it up to find they were waiting on insurance to approve their supplemental work and parts list, totaling over $17,000. No work being done and no notifications or calls. Insurance approved 30 days of car rental. I got my vehicle back today and had to pay $900 in rental fees because it took over 6 weeks to complete the work. They blamed insurance (probably a factor) They blamed Rivian for back ordered parts (perhaps) and had to "re-order" some parts during assembly (no explanation) I paid another $1,500 (deductible) and they were going to withhold delivery because GEICO owed them another $1,700. I was less than gracious at this point and they finally agreed to ship the vehicle (as long as I agreed to pay the $1,700 if GEICO doesn't). Communication was reactive, only becoming proactive after my multiple complaints and emails. All staff were respectful and professional in responding (even when I wasn't) and the actual work itself and detailing were very good. Would I use them again? No. Do Rivian owners in VA have other options... No. I suspect they overinflated the repair costs to GEICO leading to unnecessary and frustrating delays. I can't prove that. If Insurance wasn't involved, would this cost $17,000 to GEICO and me $3,400? Over $20K! I doubt it. They recommended I use insurance and I guess I know why! They did deliver the vehicle saving me 5 hours of round trip driving.

My 2015 Golf-R needed all sorts of stuff I knew was coming ahead of time, so new front rotors and brakes, flushing brake fluid and radiator, Haldex Service, and the usual oil filter, air filter, and cabin filter and an inspection to top things off. I feel like my car is ready to go for the next year and was pretty stoked I didn't have to come back w the mailer coupon I had forgotten for a nice discount on $1500+ spent as they honored it with no fuss.
