Had a great experience here. Our van we just got a few months prior, had a known oil leak. We worked with big O, which did an initial inspection of the used vehicle, and suggested $2000 in repairs. All of which were just "repairs that should be done around 100k miles". As for the leaking and smoking/burning oil, they didn't even look. In fact, i don't think they inspected at all, just went off of "what are common repairs for this age of vehicle". They told us the smoke "was likely engine cleaner the dealership used, and should burn off soon". Long story short, we did $1200 of those initial suggest repairs. The "should burn off soon" got worse and worse. We breathed in this crap for a few months before taking it back in. "Oh it's actually the gasket seal squirting oil to the back of the engine, needs to be replaced, that'll be $900" Reluctantly we did. "We can't clean the oil that is there currently but it should burn off soon". A few more months go by, it got some what better initially, then got worse again. At this point my family has been sick for 6+ months straight! Breathing this crap in! We are extremely upset with those evil corporate con artists. We never would've kept this van if it was going to be this problematic, which we paid them to inspect and let us know this. Again this isn't years later. This was a day 1 problem they should've actually inspected. We took the van into precision for the oil change. Mentioned the leak and asked if they could check while they were in it. The full process only took about an hour. What really impressed me? They sent me an actual video of the leak. The oil was EVERYWHERE. I mean as far as an inspection goes, would be pretty much impossible to miss. Further more you could easily see which areas were old oil that had been burned and caked on, and other areas that were still liquid/dripping. Extremely obvious! I wish big O would've taken 5 minutes to do an actual inspection. I doubt they even put it on a lift. "Just grab the book and see what should be done around 100k miles". Precision thinks that Big O likely pinched that seal when they replaced it, prompting further leaking. We ultimately gave up on the van. In 7 months, it caused major health problems for the entire family, cost us 2100$ in repairs, and we traded it in at a $6000 loss. It kills me that Big O could be so negligant! We bought our $44000 new long term car. We had 7 days to return that van, it was day 2 that we had big o inspect it. If we would've known it was going to be a bigger problem than that initial 1200 in maintenance, we would've returned it and done it differently. Big O ultimately cost us $8100 plus health issues for the entire family. Wish i would've gone with Precision Tune Auto Care from the start! read more

Went there today for an oil change. I know it's their job to try and sell people who may not know a whole lot about cars extra services, but when I got called to check something under the hood when they had my car in the bay, the guy who works on cars uncaps and shows me the oil cap for my car, which had some sludge due to wear and tear blah blah,, and offered to 'flush it' using with a jug of some type of flushing solution which I had to buy. The very-accelerated looking mechanic offered to do it for 100 bucks, to which I refused, knowing it was not oil sludge from the engine and he was pitching me a story, which he suggested it was from daily driving. He then offered for 80 bucks, again I refused. My car is fairly new and I do scheduled oil changes. You see, in Utah and any other place with extreme cold and rapid changes in temperature, in winter, sometimes condensation in the engine happens when driving your car in shorts daily trips and turning your engine on and off,its fairly common in cold season and it builds sludgy, off-white gunk. Well this guy must get a lot of unsuspecting costumers with that story. Just google 'cold weather condensation build up under engine oil cap'.Don't believe their story and think your engine will cease if you don't get their service. The same mechanic guy then offered to replace a new air filter even though I didn't need one. Over all - go there if you need an oil change which can be done anywhere else, but be aware that sometimes what these guys offer isn't necessary right there and then. They thrive on making you feel like you absolutely need to get your car fixed by them, because hey, sales pitch, I get it. To me, that bad experience with the oil cap sludge was ridiculous and dishonest... and for a hundred dollars , what a deal wow. That is just a sly tactic and I don't stand for service of this nature. Wow, with the changes THIS Precision Tune location has undergone! I've been going here for a few years, and during that time they've gone through probably 5 different managers! That's a lot of changes for any business and it's regulars to go through, too! Yesterday I went in for a quick repair, which happened - you got it - super quick, and the guys and I also had a fun exchange while I was there. What I noticed immediately though, as I was driving in was - W O W ! What have they DONE here!? From the outside with it's clean appearance, sparkly, new sign and windows with new signage, to the inside that is - WOW, again - totally clean, and honestly - it smells nice in there! Seriously! It's now got new paint, it's CLEANED-up - floors and walls, there's a nice magazine display on the center table, and again - it SMELLS nice! First time there that I've ever experienced THAT there! Ha. I mean, who takes the time to do this kind of thorough write-up of their mechanic's place!? I do - even in the middle of my busy schedule, because it's such an obvious collection of changes that their hard work warrants some serious acknowledgment! Too many people don't go out of their way to offer genuine compliments to each other, and I like to do that! This place has even overhauled their WORK space! Meaning, it's completely clean in there, too! I'm actually blown away with the order and cleanliness overall, ESPECIALLY in their WORK space. Before, it was quite the disaster. :-) Even though there were several nice crew members there, it was like, "HOUSEKEEPING . . . !" Yesterday I met the new Manager, Edin, too. I used to come here every time I needed an oil change but I had become unimpressed with the management after some time so I started buying the stuff and changing my oil on my own. A few days ago I received a coupon for an awesome deal on an oil change so I figured I'd give them another shot to which I was very pleasantly surprised. Edin greeted me at the door, listened intently to every word I said, and took care of me so quickly! The employee who changed my oil also greeted me and told me he would get me in and out as quickly as possible. I watched his employees through the window as they changed the oil on my Subaru and did their routine check- where I was very happy to see they were quick and efficient in following each step. After about 15 minutes Edin sat next to me and told me I was ready to go. I have just had my air and cabin filters replaced and I was so happy to see that nobody gave me the "change your filter" schpeal. They were honest and thorough and gave me exactly what I was looking for. After Edin took my coupon he asked me if I would give him some feedback on his location. When I gave him my opinions he showed a lot of interest in them, asking me questions and professionally speaking for himself. these guys have always done an amazing job. I normally change my own and do my own mechanic work but don't during winter months. I recently refererred my single mother friend and she didn't really have the money to spend. manager went above and beyond his call an did the service for her on a honor system and let her come back to pay couple weeks later. They also let disabled man in wheelchair who is also a veteran hold signs for a few extra bucks. they are a role model for way businesses should be run and would recommend them highly to anyone. After my new battery from Walmart left me stranded and pushing my car through a busy intersection I was lucky to find Precision Tune Auto Care and Edin, the new manager. He was fantastic and found a battery that I could afford and had the mechanic take the battery to my car and install it. Since it was late in the day I brought my car back the next day to make sure my charging system was working. It took them only a few minutes to determine that it was working as it should. Everyone there including Edin was friendly, professional and willing to help me solve my problems. So glad to have found a new car shop I can trust. I will be back. I am a traveling nurse and am always skeptical about trying new automotive shops. I was greatly impressed with these guys, I needed new brakes, well so I thought. Mikey (who I dealt with) was amazing, he made sure I was informed regarding my brakes, and checked out other things I had asked him to on as well. The next morning my vehicle would not start, he came to my house to see what the problem was and jump started my vehicle so I could go get a new battery. Now a days its so hard to find honest mechanics. The guys at Precision have always been so kind and straight forward with me. Being in charge of many company vehicles, I have nearly tried all the shops in town, and Precision always gives me the lowest price, and multiple times, they have stayed after hours determined to fix whatever they find with any of the cars I bring them. The manager, Adine, is very personable, and goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. There are 2 mechanics that I truly appreciate there as well.
