One of Vanik's track cars, Z4 3.0is with sick wheels. Must be fun on the track!
Paulo B.

Vanik is my #1 BMW indie mechanic in LA. I have 3 BMWs (and Audis before) and I have been to a bunch of euro shops in LA. Vanik has been fixing my BMWs (X5, 335, 550) for the last few years and he can do everything from complex by-the-book OE repairs to custom performance work. But unlike many shops, he does what the customer wants, but manages to do it right as well. He is creative with his repairs, leading to saving money, smarter repairs, pre-emptive service - basically fixing more stuff better for less $. He doesn't charge to scan the car and take a quick look. He will honestly tell you what YOUR CAR REALLY NEEDS (because personal driving and conditions differ) so you don't do unnecessary milestone work. He always has a classic BMW or M car in his shop, and he owns a couple himself he's converted into track cars. Vanik takes the time to do every job right, but also puts the customers first and his prices are like half the dealers and hard to beat, plus his honesty is rare! He can fix any car, but he's a true master technician with BMW/Mini and Audi/VW/Porsche. His recent VW mid-engine project car shows off his genius and mechanical mastery.

Always leave here happy! Vanik is the man! Thank you for your help

Hi, I need motor mounts for a Panamera '15 what would that cost?

Do you work on Acura's?

He actually works on all cars. If he's a master euro tech I would trust him with any car.

How much do you charge for walnut blasting a 2008 n54?

Vanik quoted me like 700. You should do other stuff song with it.

Led by Lorenzo, the friendly and honest mechanics always listen carefully to my description of the issue at hand, use up-to-date diagnostic tools, and figure things out pretty quickly. They charge reasonable rates, never looking for an unnecessary upsell, and they get the work done fast. I've even had them diagnose things and send me away, saying it's a warranty issue that should be free at the dealer. My visit this week was for something silly: a noise being made by a broken "belly panel" underneath the car. A simple fix with no real mechanical components (a good thing), but Lorenzo felt bad because it was a dealer-only part that was pricier than it should have been. Not his fault, and I know they'll take care of me on another fix down the road when they have more control. That said, once the part was in, the car was fixed in about an hour. Good service. Good people. Don't hesitate to bring them your car when that inevitable time comes around. They'll take good care of you.

I requested a brake inspection, which was really quick, turned out I had to get my rear brakes changed. They offered to do it the same day for a very reasonable price and less than 3 hours later, my car was ready. Joe has worked on my car for small items like brakes and oil changes all the way up to getting some check engine light issues fixed. Pricing is always great. Brought my car here for a diagnostic thinking the issue was one thing only to find out "no, you don't need that," and saved me a bunch of money I would have likely spent elsewhere. He didn't push me to fix anything that didn't need fixing and pointed out a few things that were old that I might want replaced so I just took all his suggestions because it's a very old car and it needed some extra care. All the five star reviews are well deserved!! Highly recommended.

I am disappointed with this shop. I went after seeing good reviews.Although, I like the customer…read moreservice from owner and the technician. I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill. The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.

They were able to get me in and were also really mindful of timing. A part ended up being unavailable and they had to get from dealer instead, even so, I really appreciated how they handled the communication in transparency, and it was actually still comparable / cheaper than other places I checked. To top it off, they noticed my key battery was dead and changed it without me asking. I discovered that I was charged well over $2400, not $1200, with more than half of that amount being for labor. This morning, Tommy (the owner I guess) called me three times back to back this morning) trying to discuss their labor charges. At this point, I don't trust their explanations regarding how they calculate labor costs. Moving forward, I will definitely seek a second opinion for any car issues, especially living in Los Angeles where we rely heavily on our cars. It's easy to feel desperate or rushed to resolve car issues, but it's important to ensure you're not being overcharged. Please see the pictures below for reference. (Note -- I have filled complaints with the Big O corporate, Better Business Bureau, Bureau of Automotive Repair and will be reaching out to the local Congressman Brad Sherman) to further investigate.

chris, you should be seeking professional help to deal with your misconceptions of reality. chuck,…read morethanks for your reply. i did 'seek help". i originally asked you for a second opinion. my car sat idle while we put transmission fluid in - was not smoking. when you dropped off your car, you said you were going to out of town for a week.no.when i came in you asked me to come back later, 4 days, then my car sat there not looked at for 5 more days to which i ask, "should i pick it up", i'm going on vacation for a week. i was told it's best to leave it. i originally came to ag automotive a year+ as second opinion. an oil change mechanic thought i needed a new engine because of smoking that stopped within a minute of turning it on, especially in the morning. no driving issues, i just didn't like the smoke. i called and asked what you would charge to replace a head gasket or engine. you said it's best to bring it in so you could determine if it's possibly something else. which i agreed & did. where after testing it was determined i needed a new fuel pump. the car's tailpipe was not smoking at all that time & i didn't have the stalling issues. so, i said let's do that and since it's been a while, please add new spark plugs. i picked up my car and drove away. it seemed to drive the same as before, didn't notice too much of a difference except now it would occasionally bog out going from the 101s to 405n turnpike, which it did not do in the past. i then bought a new car... didn't drive this car, but eventually decided i would sell it. i gave it a fresh oil change and added lucas oil 10278 engine oil stop leak because yes there was a small leak on my driveway. i also added lucas oil transmission fix and k-seal pour and go head gasket sealer. it did have heating issues which stopped after adding. where you wasted months has nothing to do with us. if you ask me, you''ve probably wasted abit mire than a few months of your life. the first thing i told you was "this thing needs an engine" you assured me the smoke billowing out of the tailpipe "stops in a few minutes." it did stop in a few minutes. it was not smoking when i brought it to you. you brought your mazda in stating "the fuel pump you put in last year is no good. i said, it's bogging out sometimes and the last thing i had done was the 'fuel pump and spark plugs'. i did not say 'faulty fuel pump'. it starts, runs, but if you turn it off and let it sit, it will not restart." this part is true. i would drive somewhere and let it sit for an hour and it would have trouble starting. we checked the fuel pressure and noticed that it would drop after 10 min. we removed the injector rail and visually confirmed fuel dripping from three out of the four injectors. since we were already at the fuel pump checking pressure i ordered a new pump and spent 10 min installing it. as if on cue, when i told you about the injectors, you said "it's the fuel pump just replaced." i saved an hour long debate with you when i explained how we had just replaced the pump, which we did under warranty at no charge to you. remember, we had dealt with you before.. dealt with me? we had noticed that your spark plugs were fouled and one coil was not firing. the spark plugs were not even a year old. they were replaced at the same time as the fuel pump. we also noted the compression was normal. once again i brought up the excessive smoking. again you, said "it only happens after it sits and quickly goes away". when did you 'once again bring up excessive smoke?at this point we had no reason to think you were being dishonest. because i'm not. i explained it could be that the leaking injector were washing the rings, causing the excessive smoke. so we fixed the injectors with your approval. yes. once again, the shop was filled with smoke. i have no idea why. i called you down to the shop, since your version of the smoking did not make any sense.i called several times in a week to get answers and was finally told over the phone that it was the injectors and if i replace them it will "run like a brand new car... when i got back from my trip, i again had trouble getting answers and was told to come in... showing up, i did not in the least bit recognize the amount of unfettered smoke coming out of the tail pipe of my car in my life before this day. i was told the car's oil was emptied and replaced with a "thicker oil".. even though i had just had an oil change with added lucas oil stop leak before bringing it in. after showing you the smoke, you pulled the classic "it wasn't doing that before" it wasn't. now i knew you were lying. i told you i would install your old injectors and you could take the car. before re-installing the plugs i noticed liquid in # 3 cylinder. we blew it out, and we were able to watch the cylinder fill up. i also noticed that the fluid had an orange tint. i didn't care about paying for the injectors and i was telling the truth. new injectors stayed in by the way. cont'd in photo:
