There are too many nice things to say about Precision Motion. I have a Porsche that I don't drive as much as I used to and the battery ran out. I was going to have the car towed to PM since I had ruined the battery. Instead, Kris drove out to my house on his way home from work. He swapped the battery out, turned my previous one in for warranty work and told me that I owed him nothing. I owe you Kris. When my car was newer and just out of warranty, the dealership wanted to pull the engine and charge me $6,000 for a repair. Kris and company had the car fixed up for a few hundred dollars and they did not need to pull the engine. PM also saved me from paying for an expensive repair on my Audi. 03 911 C4S. Problem- Noise when reversing after sitting. Correct diagnosis: Rusted brakes breaking free after sitting for a week. Cost to repair- $0 Precision Motion diagnosis: new clutch and IMS. Cost- $4200. After pick up, the noise was still occurring, because I was the car weekly, New diagnosis- transmission mount. Cost- free, because they mis-diagnosed the problem. Another shop looked at the replaced Trans mount and discovered it was not properly installed. Brought it back to PM and they fixed the install. They also installed free of charge the turn signal/ cruise control stock for mis- diagnosing the initial problem. I would look for another shop. read more

Several years ago Porsche in Riverside said my clutch would need to be replaced soon because it only had 25% life left. In preparation to sell my 2006 Porsche 911 S cabriolet, I finally dropped it off at Precision Motion to have the clutch replaced. The next day I received a call from their front office saying the clutch does not need to be replaced, the mechanic only needed to replace the switches associated with the clutch (sorry I am not mechanical enough to explain but you can Google it). My repair cost $222 vs around $2k for a new clutch. Thank you Precision Motors for being honest. Too bad the Porsche dealer in Riverside does not have the same level of integrity. I have read Don's reply and I understand his position but the issue I have with his business is simply this: #1. He provided a copy of the inspection to the seller of the car without my permission. I paid him $350 for the inspection, not the seller. No apology from him other than giving me credit for the inspection if I paid his shop over $4000 for the repairs. #2. One or more people from his shop told the seller that his car was in great shape and that they had several people that would be interested in buying it. That is exactly what the seller told me. It is this exact reason why the seller was not interested in negotiating for any of the repairs. Had someone from Don's shop not opened their mouth about anything, I'm quite positive I could have received some sort of concession from the seller. No thanks to Precision motion, I received nothing from the seller. #3. I never received a complete quote from his shop to do the repairs. His initial quote was for almost $4000 and that didn't include the window regulator or spoiler hydraulics. Finally, I did buy the car and had all the work performed at another repair shop to include pinning the cooling lines. The car has been shipped to me in Iowa and it's a great car. I couldn't be more happy with it. And it's unfortunate that my only bad experience has been with Precision Motion. If they had offered an apology and offered to discount their inspection, I would have felt better. Unfortunately he only offered to give me a credit for something he knew I would never do. It's like the restaurant that gives you food poisoning and they apologize by giving you some food vouchers for your next visit. Would you go there again? And that's why his offer to give me a discount off the repairs was disingenuous. I had no intentions of every using his shop and if he was a stand up shop he would have given me a discount on the inspection. read more

I recently purchased an older boxster S and asked them to replace the IMS bearing the repair was done as promised. They even kept the old IMS bearing for my review. Glad I replaced the bearing since it was beginning to fail. It is very difficult these days to find someone who will work on your Porsche and be completly honest with you. Kris and Don are ethical and will not replace something that does not require replacement. My wife and I were on our way home from a brutal 4 day business trip today. We had very little sleep in the past few days, had spent 12 hours driving north 2 days earlier and were now 3 hours from home and beat. The oil light started flashing on and off on my VW CC and it was 20 minutes to 5pm. Not good timing. To make matters worse my wife has Lupus and a pancreas disease and was sick. We started making calls and no one could get us in to look at the car tonight. We would need to get a hotel and spend the night. One shop recommended we call Precision Motion Porsche as we were less than a mile a way. The folks there told us to come right over, made my wife comfortable with spotless clean bathrooms and a comfortable waiting room and made her coffee. The mechanics jumped right on the car and ran tests and checked out the engine and made sure the problem was just a sending unit and not an engine oil pressure issue. They test drove the car twice and even explained what we needed and to call Volkswagen in the am in San Diego to order it. They made sure the car was safe to make it the 3 hour drive home and when I asked what the bill would be - I was nervous as this was a Porsche repair shop - they wished us luck and told me to get my wife home and get her to bed. No charge. Talk about honest, nice folks. My wife cried she was so happy. These guys are incredible. Highly recommended. They work on all imports, not just Porsche cars. read more

I have used this shop several times over the years thinking they may improve over the years..not!! Don't be swayed by the false promises and the competitive quote you might receive or even by their convienent locaction. My last time I took my 911 there was THE LAST TIME. I lost count of how many times I was told my car was finished, only to found that it was not after I was dropped off at their shop. Truly, they should maybe just work on old V W's s but not sure I would even trust them with that. I have had mystery dings apear, parts missing and I also had a new windshield installed once and they denied any occurrence had happened but my rear view mirror was clearly stuck in the wrong position for my car..BUSTED! Run the other way if you have a nice car and wish to keep it that way. read more

But they've always treated me like their best customer. The level of trust I've had in the Kravigs, frst the father, then the son, and now the grandsons has given me a lot of peace of mind over the years. I don't feel I've ever had a bill that was out of line, and their workmanship has generally been very satisfactory. The negative review on this site is completely out of line. I had my car service done including clutch slave, front brakes (rotory&pads) changed when I had my car back, my car had extremely annoying noice from the brake, so I took it back to the shop. Thy said it should go away after about 3k miles, it disnt had to bring it back again, still hadnt been fixed. Also one day my clutch died after getting brand new clutch slave in less than about a year. I had no one else touch the car since. The shop blames me or deny that it wasnt them. Found out that wrong fluid was in the clutch system. Im a guy doesnt even know how to do simple oil change. When I made complains regarding the service, they asked me to change the shop. read more

I have owned a 1973 914 2.0 Porsche since 1976. My car has always been in great mechanical shape and appearance. I have tried to maintain my car over the years in its original stock form. This has not always been easy mechanically since repair shops knowledgeable about my 914 have become hard to find. Two years ago I had the engine rebuilt by a reputable engine rebuilder who specialized in ¼ mile race cars. While I believe his work was acceptable the car did not perform as it had originally. I was desperate to find someone who knew the ins and outs of my car. I recently experienced episodes of vapor lock as temperatures in the Southern California area were affecting the performance of my car. I was introduced to Precision Motion by a friend as we drove from Riverside California to Mammoth Lakes California. I was experiencing episodes of vapor lock so my friend called Don at Precision Motion as we traveled to explain my situation trying to resolve my dilemma. Don tried as best he could from 150 miles away to explain adjustments we could make to the 914 [5 unscheduled vapor lock stops with temperatures in excess of 100 degrees] allowing us to continue and make it to our destination. We successfully made the round trip with the assistance of Don and his 914 knowledge. After returning home I took my car to Precision Motion to have Don and his crew alleviate my headache. The result was to move the fuel pump from the engine compartment to the area below the gas tank in the front trunk area .... problem solved. On still another occasion I was in the local San Bernardino Mountains headed for Lake Arrowhead when the 914 became powerless as I traveled the mountain roads. Seems I could not get enough power to continue on my journey. I called once again Precision Motion for some needed advice. I got on the phone with Kris at Precision Motors who suggested that he would make the trip to a cabin my wife and I had rented for the weekend in Lake Arrowhead after closing hours at the shop. I had my car towed to the cabin and Kris arrived as the sun set to survey my problem. After working on the car for several hours in the dark Kris pinpointed the problem [the altitude compensator] and got the car running ... not well but running well enough for our stay in the mountains. To my surprise, Kris did not charge me for his time or travel to our cabin. I needed to have the altitude compensator replaced. My wife and I were able to enjoy the weekend. I had the 914 towed from the cabin to Riverside and Precision Motion for the replacement. At the shop he loaned me a car to enable me to return home as his team replaced the needed part .... problem solved. Wow, that's service far beyond what is normal for this day and age. I would highly recommend Precision Motors, Don and his team not just for their customer service but for their knowledge of "someone who knew the ins and outs of my car" and that high performance Porsche you may have sitting in your garage. read more
