I am SO THANKFUL I CALLED PRECISION MOLD TESTING. Never in my life would I have thought I would be living in a rental apartment that is managed by slumlords and have people lie to me after a A/C unit flooded through the attic down into closet and I discovered clothes and everything floating in water and mold growing all over everything. And these slumlords say they did a mold, asbestos , lead test, and tell me everything came back NEGATIVE! Well I called the slumlords lab they used and only an asbestos test was done. And that lab would not give me all the information or any detail to help me. Wouldn't you think that lab should have advised a mold test to be done? NOPE they didn't! But the slumlords were notified by me a mold test was not done. Yes they tried to cover it up. Had that lab do a air test....Spores!!!! And positive for high levels of dangerous molds. And that lab did a basic one area test!!! My point! Two months now with no voice, acute respiratory issues, and having to see a lot of specialists BECAUSE A mold lab was not my advocate of what they saw and new and should have advised the slumlords. These guys were great! I had an odd, terrible smell permeating from my bathroom closet and I could not figure out what it was. I took everything out, and it was getting worse, so I called Precision. We initially set up an appointment for later that week, but when I called back panicking that it was going to get worse, Lou came out the following morning. He helped me rule out several possible moisture sources (roof or plumbing leak in the house), identified an improper seal in the shower, and tested the air for mold, which luckily was not present. We evaluated that the issue was most likely moisture under the house, and he had several recommendations for how to proceed. We called these guys out because we didn't know if we had mold in our kitchen. There has been a weird smell there for a couple weeks and I have been having headaches so wasn't sure if it was the mold or not. A friend of mine had used them so I called them and had the come out. I spoke with Ken on the phone and he was very knowledgeable and answered a couple of my hard questions. He sent one of his guys out and it was very professional. The steps are that they come out and look visually, then do some metering to check for moisture, then take air sampling. I was impressed with how much they knew about mold and how they could tell me exactly what type of mold is present and in what amounts. It was a leak behind our dishwasher and we needed to get it cleaned up to remove it and have it tested again to verify the mold had been removed. We found mold after closing on a house and we needed someone to come in quick to do the testing. Ken was responsive and sympathetic to our plight and even gave us a discount.
