Our 27+ year old Lexus key was just about to break with all of the years of use, so I bought a new one online and brought it to a nearby locksmith to cut and program. They told me that I had to have the Lexus dealership program it because of the age of the car. When I went to the dealership, however, they wanted nearly $500 to do that because it would be a two hour ordeal requiring the technician to remove the electronic control unit for programming. Frustrated, I looked for a locksmith when I left the dealership, so I could at least get the key cut. Precision was less than a mile away. Corbin looked up information about programming, but the first method and the second method he found both failed. Rather than give up, he got creative and combined the suggested steps for both techniques. It took an hour of his time, but our daughter now has a brand new fully functional key thanks to his diligence. For all of that effort, the cost was $55. I am truly grateful and will return for any other locksmith needs in the future. read more

SUBARU OWNERS! I called the local zoo themed locksmith and was quoted nearly 300 dollars for two non coded Subaru keys for my sons 2006 Forrester. The next call I made was to precision locksmith in Beaverton. They had great reviews. Even though I live near the Portland airport Harrison came out to my house in 40 minutes from Beaverton and unlocked and keyed me two keys for around half the neighborhood guy. APPLE PAY!! This has been my default locksmith since forever. After a necessary trip to an out-of-town hardware store for a duplicate key, I am once again reminded why. The key did not work. I had to take it back and they had to re-make it, but this time "buffed" it. That helped, but it was still dicey and usually takes a few tries to get it to work. The frustration and time are not worth the dollar or so I save over Precision Locksmith. Suffice it to say I highly recommend Precision Locksmith for all things keys and locks. I was helping a friend move into her new bookstore location and we needed to deal with an old as F* lock that we didn't have a key for and just didn't seem to work correctly. Steve over at Precision Locksmith took one look at the lock and told us that it was both an old as F* lock (I'm sure he didn't use those words because he's a professional but that's the gist), and that it was also an expensive one so he was glad we brought it in. He then quoted us a very reasonable price to re-key it to the new set of keys we had. 45min later I wasn't so sure he was going to be as glad to see us since it seemed like the job was waaaaaay harder than he thought it was going to be. But he came out with a bright smile and a flawlessly working door lock. I asked if he wanted to requote me since it seemed like a harder job than expected and he just shook his head, "She was a little temperamental that's all. I went to Precision Locksmith today to get a door lock on my car fixed. I can't think of anything really bad about them, so they get 5 stars from me. My car's driver door lock wouldn't turn, so I couldn't unlock it from the outside. When I brought my car to this place, they weren't busy at all (it was a Tuesday afternoon), so someone was available right away to help - that was nice. It took about 45 minutes to fix. Labor was $101, and that would have been all I had to pay, except that my door lock was in pretty bad shape. I bought a new lock for $60 (they matched it to my key), so I paid $161 in total. I don't know if this is more than I would have paid somewhere else, but as far as an auto repair job goes, I don't think this was too bad. While you wait for your service to get done, they have a few chairs in their lobby with some magazines to read. They also have a couple baby toys in their lobby for those with toddlers. Besides providing locksmith services, Precision Locksmith also sells locks and safes, and they also duplicate keys. read more

Ross from Precision Locksmith Service just saved my life. I was house/pet sitting for my coach, went outside to play with the dog, and OF COURSE locked myself out. On a Sunday. I sheepishly went to a neighbor's house to borrow a phone, and after a few dead-end attempts with other locksmiths, called Precision. They gave me a price right there on the phone and said they'd be there in no more than a half hour. Ross was prompt and friendly and made me feel a little less loserly for having locked myself out. The actual locksmithing itself took almost no time at all, and he checked with me to make sure he was charging me the price I was given over the phone. There was a $10 difference, for which he apologized and gave me the lower of the two. "Giving someone one price and charging them more just isn't right," he said. Much appreciated! I have used Precision Key in the past a number of times and they have been fine. I just had a really bad experience there and will never go back. I went there to have a few keys made that I needed badly as I have to go out of town on an emergency. The first time I went there a very nice young woman told me that they did not have that key right then. She ordered it immediately and said that she would have 50 keys the next day by 11. The business is quite a ways from where I live but I returned the next day at 11 to get the keys made. When I went in a young man was helping a customer with a lock. He said nothing to me. When I ask if I could have a key made, he said quite rudely-"it would be a bit." I ask what that meant and he said he didn't know-maybe 20 minutes. I had to be somewhere else so I said I would have to come back. He grunted and smirked at the customer he was helping and obviously could care less. As I was walking out, he said-again quite rudely- well there is another employee on the phone but I don't know how long they will be. I felt completely disrespected and the person was not at all interested in helping me. I am not one to play this card but I suspect that it was because I am an older woman. I am in fact an accomplished and respected professional and am not used to being treated like dirt. I plan to pass the word amongst my colleagues to never to go there. read more

We love Precision Locksmith. We had them install a lock and deadbolt a year ago. Perfect! We asked them to install a digital 'smart lock' just now and they got the order going. Our front door was almost shot; it was only going to be a matter of time before it got stuck shut. I called Precision and they came out the next day and quickly determined what was wrong (the spindle and latch). He ran and got a replacement part and took care of it. These guys are AMAZING! I called 5 companies and these guys had the best rates and availability. I broke my key in the trunk of my 92 Subaru and needed a new key made. It wasn't easy. Scott came out at 4pm and was on time. He took apart my door to get a code(that ended up not being there) so he got the broken key from the trunk and was able to make me a new copy. He was there from 4-6 and didn't charge an after hours call. He did all that work, 2 hours of time, and 3 new keys for $130. Other places charged $250 an HOUR! This was my first time using them and i will again if i ever need a new key. read more

This afternoon, we received service from Hans, a mobile locksmith at Precision Locksmith. I lost my car keys at a coffee shop in Lake Oswego and pulling Precision was pretty much luck of the draw through our AAA membership. Hans reached us far faster than we expected and he worked his heiny off to get a key fitted for my car. My car key code was unavailable so he had to hustle for some time to cut the key just right to fit my ignition. He was quick, efficient, and unbelievably nice. Despite the heat -- which made me cranky, and I was sitting in the shade -- Hans was unfailingly pleasant. He made me promise to write my car key code down so it would be cheaper and faster if this ever happened again. Overall, the bill was under $100. Great work and wonderful customer service. read more

Wow...just under 45 minutes and she had my deadbolt fixed with new pins and springs, back into the housing, and she also fixed my strike that wasn't properly aligned with the door lock. Excellent work, fast, and completely professional. Strongly recommended! 10.25.2016 Update: The deadbolt lock popped out again, so I called and they suggested that I save a ton of money by bringing my deadbolt in to have the pins reset. When I brought it in and explained the problems with it popping out, we looked at the lock and it was clear that a section of the lock had worn out, meaning that it would not stop popping out at this point. They told me the model was no longer manufactured but Steve said he could possibly scrounge one up from his home or they could simply replace it with a Schlage. I opted for the Schlage and they walked me through the replacement. Worked perfectly, and it was extremely affordable! Lifetime fan. read more

WOW. My husband broke his key off in our relatively complicated front door with his Hulk strength.. resulting in a broken window, and taking guests through the back door (far less charming), with the front door out of service. I was calling around this morning, getting quotes, and Precision was in line with the other local locksmiths I'd called....UNTIL Steve, who I presume is an angel, had me send him pictures of the lock, and then coached me through how to "extract" the key on my own (through a few more calls and pictures of my progress). I truly felt that he valued my time and money, and was blown away by the effort he put in, to save me the $100 house call. Problem solved, money saved, and I look like a hero. Can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. They are my go-to locksmith in Beaverton. My first experience with them was (like many others) in the midst of a lock-related crisis: the key for my Infiniti had stopped working to turn on the engine. It turned out that there was a security feature in the key that required it to have a special chip in it before it would work to turn the car on, to deter thieves, which is great until you -- the owner of the car -- are unable to produce a key with a working chip. I had one other key, but two people use the car, so we needed another. I was quoted hundreds of dollars to get another one made from the dealer, and I would have to send my one remaining key to somewhere out of state via mail. I called a couple other local places first, who said they wouldn't be able to do it. Precision told me they'd give it a shot and were able to get a working key made same day, for way less than the dealer quoted me. Since then, I've gone in for anything lock/key related and have always received very fast, extremely fairly priced, and friendly service. Last time I went in to get a copy of my car key made (a different car this time... RIP Infiniti), they made a copy and then suggested I go out to my car and make sure it worked/turned smoothly before leaving. It was a small thing, but appreciated. Their focus on solid, honest, and dependable service makes me a customer for life. read more

I locked my keys in my car #dumbbrunette and I don't have AAA so I called around to compare price and they were the best! $80 flat. They were out within 30 minutes, spent about 2 minutes getting into the car, didn't damage the car at all & were very professional.
