Excellent, EXCELLENT repair / service! DRD did a key (no pun intended) fix in my '94 Buick, replacing a faulty ignition cylinder that would jam and not turn off. Clean, efficient, successful swap. D.R. Davis Lock and Safe, Inc. was recommended to me by a contractor, who told me he used them for all of his locksmith work. Since I've had poor experiences having keys made at hardware stores and the like in other instances, I was in search of a real locksmith. I stopped in recently to have 6 keys made and received quick service and a fair price. I had no problem with either of the two men working there. I can't say they were chatty or overly friendly, but they certainly were not rude or unpleasant. I'll certainly use them again should the need arise. read more

Have you ever gotten a key that "almost" works? This is a small shop, and it has been here for years. Like so many convenient resources, I often overlook it (until I need a key). I have never seen a better definition of "Dysfunctional". NEVER AGAIN... the old guy seemed confused and unable to communicate; Said his son will be in shortly and he can help...minutes later the son shows up in a huff rambling incoherently, he picks up my key and tosses it aside as if the job is ridiculous and beneath him. The father & son bicker back and forth behind the wall as if I cant hear them...with no end in sight, I walked out...my recommendation: Do not spend a dime in this place, hopefully they will go under and someone who wants to work will take their place. read more

This use to be my Locksmith of choice, so last week brought an item in that needed new lock. Kid at the counter didn't know what he was doing so he wanted me to leave it. (must have had something to do with the hiring sign in the window.) Left item and phone number and he said would call later. I called late next day to see if any progress on the item i dropped off. Kid on phone said he didn't know, he didn't receive item in. But i here some banging around and all the sudden its fixed, so he says come in to get it. I get there the same kid that i dealt with day before is there and the one i talked to on the phone. He seems real nervous and says not fixed. I told him i didn't like the runaround he was giving me (i'm old now so i stay pretty calm) The owner from the back comes yelling at me and say how inconsiderate i am. I'm baffled because i haven't said anything offensive especially to have four letter words thrown at me. Owner says i need to thank him for the run around his employee has given me. Now i'm am mussed cause he's flipping out on me what his employee has done. Employee really cowering in corner now. Sign in the window is telling me he is very hard on his employees and can't keep knowledgeable help in his business. Had locksmith in Tigard fix it in a matter of minutes, so i will not be going back to this once great shop! read more

I went in to get a key made for a lock. The young kid at the counter tried to help me but couldn't quote me a price so he guesses. The Owner was on the phone with one of his buddies and when he heard the kid tell me a price and grabbed the locked out of his hand and said "NO f***ing way! Thats too cheap!" I said calmly that I have talked to other locksmiths and they agreed with your young counter person about what it should cost(about $20). He then said he changed his mind and that he wouldn't even bother helping at any cost because it was a waste of his time and he was too busy. Must be nice to have so much business. Well I will never bother you guys again trust me. read more

After going here instead of fred meyer to get Keys made.I guess I made a major mistake..These guys screwed up making a simple key and then were very rude to me and my wife.I really don't know why he had to yell at us, but I'll never go back. read more

My car was stolen and recovered with the plug where the key goes pushed in, and as it turned out, broken. D.R. Davis (I don't know the guy's name ... owner, I think) helped very, very much and saved me some money by fixing the door latch and lock mechanism better than the original. It took some time, and it was pouring rain, but that didn't stop him and his team from working on it until it was perfect. I'm very happy. Was recommended this locksmith by my equally awesome mechanics in Tigard. I happily recommend them. Don't understand why there are negative reviews - I believe I met the entire staff while I was waiting for my door to be fixed, and all were equally polite and seemed very skillful. read more
