His quote seemed high, $1850.00, but we are new to Portland and have found things to be more expensive here. We wrote a check for that amount and after the tech. left I searched the internet for costs to remove old and install new springs for a 16' x 7' garage door. I found multiple examples of that repair for almost 1/3rd the price I paid. I did pay extra for springs that the tech told me had a longer warranty. I found it interesting that the tech., Dan R., has his snapshot on the review pages of American Garage Door and Key identifying him as The Manager. We were not given a receipt or warranty statement. I attempted to contact the business by phone and email to discuss correcting what I felt was a mistake in billing but got no response. Today I called the same business again to discuss changing the top 16' panel to one with windows. The same technician Dan R. arrived in the late afternoon, driving the same White newer Dodge Ram pick-up without any advertising for his business i met him at the door and recognized him immediately. He is tall and thin, a darker skinned young man with curly black hair on his head and beard. I asked him if we hadn't met before and he stated he did not think so and pulled out his cellphone to check for our address in previous conversations but stated he was unable to find it. He asked to see the door opened and took a photo. Again I asked if he hadn't been to our house before and he insisted that he did not think so. Our home is easily recognized as we have no plants or trees in front and one side of the property has artificial turf which looks like a healthy natural lawn and the other 1/2 is all grey pavers. I asked him the name of his company and he stated "Speedy Garage Doors". I had to ask him to repeat himself as his accent (he told me he was Jewish) made it difficult for me to understand. I thanked him for coming out and went inside to attempt to learn more about this business in hopes I could speak with someone about the cost of his previous visit. I have proof that we wrote a check for the first visit. The tech is easily identifiable. I'd appreciate being contacted by American Garage Door and Key. I'll check back here for a response.

I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised at both how prompt he was and how reasonable the cost of service was. He even stuck around for an extra 20 minutes to carefully examine the lock after he discovered a flaw with the locking mechanism (I had already purchased it on my own - no fault of his). He carefully took it apart, took a close look, and ended up fixing it up so everything worked flawlessly. This was also during peak COVID times, and he wore a mask throughout and was very cautious and polite. It's also always nice to work with a one-man-shop like Blaize. No coordinating with additional staff, no booking windows, no 'a representative will be back with you shortly'. Just a quick phone call, great service, and a reasonable pricetag. If you need a help, stop scrolling and just call him- you wont regret it.

He must of spent a full hour trying various things and talking to others to find a solution. He walked me and showed me various things along the way. At the end, he got the fobs to work as they should!!!! Very happy with my experience with Master Locksmith. And added bonus, I asked about a lock in my house that needs to be replaced.
