So i decided to join her one day as her plus one. First off, know that you have to drive all the way to the back of the plaza to find it. But there's plenty of parking. The studio is run by two nice trainers: Sally and Jordan. They are very open and all about helping you. They tell you their story and listen to yours. It's all about setting goals and appreciating the little accomplishments. First thing when you walk in is that it's one big room. Not little alcoves here and there. Just a huge mat for you to get sweaty on. I did notice there's not one mirror- which is quite interesting. There is complementary child care and very nice locker rooms. They are like to do one on one meetings to check in with you every other week. Their hours are a bit wonky so check the class schedule each week before coming in. But what I like most about this place is that if you can't do a conventional push up, they find another way to get your body to work the same muscles. My advice? Come try it out!

So here we go - my pros and cons Pros - Friendly and welcoming owner Mel greeted me and chatted while we waited for the class to begin. He is a very nice man and even made me laugh a few times. Plus for not having that 'gym machismo' factor. Pro - This workout is intense - I'm pretty fit, but I got my butt handed to me so much so that the next day I went out and purchased a fitbit heart rate monitor so I can see how close to cardiac arrest I am should I ever go back. Pro - This is a total body workout - strength, cardio, balance, they hit all the zones. Pro - First three classes are free - that is very generous, most places offer your first class and then you're on your own. Cons - There was no stretch what so ever. The class ended and everyone just left. I was kinda left there looking around like "is this it?" Mel said I was more than welcome to stay and stretch if I like, but they dont do it. I felt kinda odd since other's were coming in and so I just left. Cons - I am a person who need a class card. I travel a lot and so I purchase class cards so that I can use them when I'm in the area. This is the type of place that you need to buy a membership. I don't live in the area, but would love to work out here if I'm working in this part of Jersey. Cons - I hate putting this down as a con, but here goes. When this class was taking place we were just told to which exercises to do, there was no demonstration. I know what almost all of the names of things are but even so, there were two or three things that I wasn't sure what they were and I had to look at my fellow exercisers to see what they were doing. It would have been good to see something demonstrated or to have received some correction and adjustment to prevent injury. I would be back if they sold class cards and used something like #MindBodyOnline so I could see their schedule and book classes - but that is only if they sold class cards. If you are very very new to working out, you may find this to be an intensely challenging class.

Quite possibly the best butt-kicking money can buy. No two workout sessions are alike, and expect…read moreto get a full-body workout each time. Mel definitely knows what he is doing and genuinely care about each and every person in the class.

They advertise a floating floor which is great for joints however for me, I felt that the jumping moves were not always stable. I have witnessed at least 3 people become injured during the class and Im sure that there's been more. In order to make the workout less repetitive, they try to incorporate new moves that aren't completely safe. Yes, you can modify, however now the workout is less effective. On top of injuries, the lead trainer Kristen talks nonstop throughout the workout. Nonstop. Its distracting and makes the workout even less enjoyable. She is also difficult to deal with when it comes to billing issues and mistakes and will not give out any additional people to contact, simply tells you to email. The one plus, if you have children, childcare is included. The room is clean, and most of the sitters are interactive with the kids. However, if you dont have kids, your still paying for childcare. My advice is stay away from this gym. I was a member for over a year and ended my membership when they told me I was going to be charged a annual $49 maintenance fee. This fee was to be used to upkeep the gym, buy new equipment and make improvements. I never saw any of these things, only seeing equipment that was worn and needed to be replaced. ( medicine balls) There are alot of similar gyms out there that aren't nickle and diming you to death, and charging you for services you dont use. They also don't have a long term contracts. Buyer beware!

But it wound up being more expensive per session. They do a lot of partnering stuff which brings me a lot of anxiety causing me to have panic attacks, which causes me to go even less. Great work outs though and knowledgeable staff. Very difficult to cancel, so now I am just donating money to them every month until my contract ends.

From my recent experience, I wouldn't recommend this CrossFit gym for beginners…read more I appreciated the onboarding process, including the paid 2x 1:1 training sessions with a coach and the opportunity to try two CrossFit classes. That said, the membership structure feels inflexible for someone new to CrossFit. The available options--14 classes for $165 or unlimited for $195--assume a level of frequency that may not be realistic for beginners, and the value doesn't change. There are also no drop-in or lower-frequency options for those who want to build consistency at a slower pace, especially post physical therapy or injuries, such as one class per week. The rationale provided for this frequency structure included helping members more rapidly become familiar with navigating equipment, ensuring exposure to a wide range of exercises (which, according to a coach, may not repeat more than twice a year), and minimizing in-class setup or modification questions. However, this approach seems at odds with the messaging I received during onboarding that modifications are welcomed and supported. Overall, the experience felt somewhat misaligned with how the program was initially presented. The onboarding emphasized a "no pressure" environment, but the membership frequency options feel "pressured" and class expectations may not support a gradual or sustainable entry point for all individuals. For those considering this gym, it may be a good fit if you're ready to commit to a higher training frequency. However, beginners or those needing more flexibility or modifications may want to clarify whether the structure aligns with their needs before joining. In my recent experience, I found it doesn't make sense to join for 4-5 classes a month and pay $165, and still experience the owners pricing that belabors navigating the gym, potentially overwhelming the coaches with appropriate modifications for each class even if joining early or prepping beforehand (something the coach I worked emphasized is unnecessary), or after spending $200 for two required private training sessions leading up to joining a class.
