For the past year and a half I have been sitting on the couch feeling sorry for myself and thinking that I will never get back into shape. I have belonged to the YMCA for a number of years and have always felt that their classes were okay but didn't challenge me enough. When I had heard about Gage from a friend of mine who had tried a few classes I became intrigued. I thought I would try a class and see how it was. Wow, was it crazy but I loved it. I immediately felt at home! When I walked in I didn't know what to expect because it isn't pretty inside. But as soon as I started to workout I felt great even though I almost got sick a few times. I knew with each class I completed I would get stronger and stronger. Here it is a month down the road and I am feeling amazing. I am stronger, more confident and so excited every day to go workout. I have never felt this way before about any type of exercise. This past weekend we had an award ceremony to celebrate the members of the gym and the owner's 1 year anniversary. There are people from all walks of life at our gym but we all get along so well and are encouraging of each other no matter what. Devin Gage has undeniably created something magical- a "not gym" gym! This place is warm, welcoming and filled with people who WANT to see you succeed-from the coaches to the members, everyone is rooting for the same team. The coaches (Nick, Chris, Ryan, Calvin, Jeff) are incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help in any way humanly possible. This place is more than a gym. I have been a YMCA member for uncountable years. I never knew if I was doing things correctly, never bumped up much weight and I was bored of the same old same old. I did about 4 trials/jump start programs with local gyms & crossfits. When I got to GST, Devin intimidated me a little bit but once I started my first class I knew I found home. I even sold my other groupons for start ups at other gyms I was going to try, because I knew they would never match up. I love going to the gym and working out now, it's fun, challenging and rewarding. I've met so many great friends, supporters and motivators. Most important though I met Devin, which is the greatest pleasure of all. I'm excited week in and week out to see what Devin pushes me to do next and the feeling I get when achieving goals I never would have thought about before this place. Owner Devin Gage of Gage Strength Training is amazing at what he does. Very professional and knowledgable of the art of fitness. Devin used to help me with my diet, speed and agility when I did boxing. Now that I do MMA I don't know how I would live without his strength and conditioning programs. He's has me eater cleaner, I'm healthier and stronger than I have ever been in my life. Regardless of the type of athlete, bodybuilder or normal person who just wants to look and feel better about how you look GST can take you there. Never have been one to stick to a gym program, or anything really I decided to make some changes in my life first and foremost being my health. I found out about Gage Strength Training training through a friend, and can honestly say, signing up for their program was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. In the time that I have been a member, I've felt my body tone up, I've gained muscle and lost weight, all while truly enjoying myself. I started Gage strength training 2 months ago... Before that I belonged to the YMCA and got stuck in a funk of doing the same thing every time I was there. Treadmill, elliptical, some weights etc and I never saw any real results. In the short amount of time I have been at Gage I have dropped a pant size and have never felt so strong and confident. On top of all that the people that belong are the most amazing people I have ever met! They have become like a second family to me and are always so supportive of one another! I have been going to Gage for over 4 years. The workouts are never the same. I was hesitant to walk in the door when I first started, but everyone is very welcoming and supportive. The small groups have helped me to get stronger with my individual plan. The coaches are motivating and assist with your form and modifications when needed. My daughter attends the athlete program. I participated in a program through Gage Strength Training and it changed my entire view on fitness. I'll admit, when I first met Devin I was a little intimidated. Being basically a newbie to getting fit and working out, I was scared he would be too intense for me to handle. But what's awesome about Devin is that he tailors the workouts to fit the individual. He gave me what he knew I could handle, even when I didn't know it...and best of all, he was patient with me. I started at Gage about a month ago. You never do the same workout twice. There is always a new challenge and exercises for all levels of fitness. There are classes offered all day so even the busiest person can fit exercise into their daily routine. It is an incredibly supportive and fun atmosphere.
