I looked around and contacted several different trainers, Jeff responded before anyone else. Although I looked at a few others, I picked Jeff because I just liked him. It was an excellent choice. He is dedicated, he knows so much about wellness and more importantly he is always learning. I can ask anything about nutrition, lifestyle or training and if he needs more information, he finds out and then shares with me. The thing that matters most is that here I am, four months past my big day and I still train with Jeff. I am also so happy to say that my husband was so impressed with what he saw and with what I told him, that he now trains with Jeff too. I have been so impressed with the way in which Jeff has modified everything to meet my husband where he is. A very different place than where I ever was, and the results are already visible. Not only does my husband look healthier, he clearly feels better too. It has been such a positive experience for both of us.

You get a different HIIT type workout per class you choose. A few of the classes are stretch classes but even those will feel like an intense workout for me. You may get to use plates, a battle rope, the usual weights, jump rope, a mini "track" where you bend down and get back up running back and forth, and semi-gym bike you must balance yourself on. Visiting many fitness centers including this one has helped me appreciate what is here more. My body acted weird with the 12 workouts I had here as I surprisingly never lost weight except for one time when I had 2 workouts on a Thursday and a Saturday, I temporarily suddenly lost 9 lbs. I couldn't do workouts harder than I did as I would get dizzy and I have been checked for these physical reactions already and I am thankfully fine. My stamina rebuilding has been real slow. I do wish there was some short breaks planned because I get worn out and start to hate exercise with the constant pressure to move. Every gym and almost every trainer I have been with has been like this though. You have to try to pace yourself completely :( This is a good place for getting a quality workout for your money's worth.

Before this, I had never in my life been able to find a fitness class or gym membership that worked well for me. As a stay-at-home mom I really needed something unique to help me get back into shape after my second baby. I am not comfortable leaving a newborn baby with gym babysitters and I don't want to pay for a private babysitter just to exercise. After much research, I found THIS! Moms on the Move is a cardio/weight training class that allows me to take my baby with me to exercise, and it's during preschool hours so I don't have to take 2 with me! Plus I get to chit-chat and have interaction with fantastic women while I exercise. It's not just for moms with babies either, or moms, or babies. Peace thru Strength offers every type of fitness class, personal training, and group exercise you can dream up and with class times that fit anyone's schedule. One of the best parts is that it is PAY AS YOU GO! No monthly gym membership that you have pay for regardless of how many times you exercise. Plus, you'll be hard pressed to find better prices in the area. I know I sound like an advertisement. I'm not - it's just that awesome.

She knows what challenges me and makes sure to push me thru those workouts while being attentive to others in the class. Who would imagine the day when I enjoy burpees. I take spin, trx and impact at PTS and LOVE them all. There is a great variety of classes and the times they run- so much to choose from sometimes I have to take 2!! Thanks so much Taylor for helping me fit into my wedding dress and feel amazing on my special day!!

Since I've joined, I've gained muscle, learned better technique and made some really awesome friends. I love that everyone there from their incredible training staff to the lifters themselves are knowledgeable and helpful to anyone that walks in the door. It really does feel like a tight knit family that is welcoming to everyone willing to put in the work, from the feel at the gym during classes to the chili cookoffs and Phillies games together. In fact, just this past weekend we drove 2 hours down to Delaware just to watch some of our friends from the gym compete in a strongman competition and it was a blast! We've brought numerous friends for drop-in workouts and they've all walked away impressed at the camaraderie and top of the line equipment that owners Katie and Brian have for their gym. Whether it's strongman, powerlifting, Olympic lifting or cross fit style workouts you are seeking, you can find it all at Power Plant, and then some. There are some bench platforms and plenty of chalk. There is also strongman equipment such as Atlas stones. So, whether you are into Olympic lifting or powerlifting or strongman training, there is ample equipment for you. The problem is the people. As long as you are putting money into their pockets --- as by paying for training, the trainers are attentive. So, I paid somewhere around $500 for some personal training, and the advice and coaching was solid. The problem is that once you stop paying, it is evident that the trainers and the owners could care less about you --- never mind that you are paying the monthly dues. So, after I finished with my personal training sessions, I was lucky to get a nod of acknowledgement--- from the owner all the way down to the staff. And if you ask for something as simple as a spot, they act as if you are somehow imposing. I might as well have been at Planet Fitness. Call me old-fashioned, but I feel that when you pay, you are entitled to at least be treated civilly. Finally, the unpleasant atmosphere was too much, and I canceled my membership. Summary --- good equipment, but poor people-skills on the part of the owners and employees.

Place has fallen down hill very quick over the last year. One of your go-to machines are down?…read moreDon't worry it'll get fixed in 3 months. They have a ton of rules posted about guest passes then they let anyone in for free. Not sure why I pay I could just walk in. It's getting dirtier every day. One girl cleans and does a good job but does so at like 10am. Why can't they do this when the gym is shut down? Or maybe more than once a day?. Wish the gym would suspend or revoke their memberships to those who can't figure out where the dumbbell they were using goes or those who just completely say F it and don't re-rack their weights. They have no bands. Their clips for the cable attachments seem to either break or get stolen just about every day. They have 3 basketballs. The pool has been closed for a while and I've never seen one person working on fixing it. Working here must suck. Over the past two years I haven't seen one person work here longer than 6 months besides maybe a salesman or two. I have no idea who's in charge of this place. The trainers don't last here for more than a month either. If I didn't live walking distance away I'd go to a different gym.

LA Fitness Is a Total Scam - Avoid at All Costs!…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. Over a year ago, I signed up for an LA Fitness membership and personal training under the impression that I could cancel anytime. What they conveniently failed to mention was that the personal training contract was locked in for a full year at $200 a month--no way out. Fine. I waited out the year, canceled the trainer, and thought I was done. But guess what? They kept charging me $200 a month anyway! And when I tried to resolve it? No customer service to call, no easy way to cancel--they force you to physically go into a location just to stop payments. So, I went in person to cancel. The employee gave me a phone number for a manager who could supposedly handle it. Turns out, the number was disconnected. So I went back--again--only to be told the manager wasn't there and I'd have to go to a different location. I drove 20 minutes to another location, asked for the manager, and was then told only the personal training manager could cancel it. That manager no longer even works there. The employee had no idea what to do, and I was left completely stuck--still being charged $200 a month for a service I don't use and can't seem to cancel. At this point, LA Fitness is literally just stealing my money, and I have no idea what to do next. I think I'm going to contact a lawyer. DO NOT sign up for anything at this gym unless you want to be scammed.
