Thrilled with our experience with Jared and Dottie. I love working with tradespeople that care as…read moremuch about the work as the homeowners do. We are doing a complete renovation of a home from 1898 and it has been a labor of love restoring some of the original features and adding modern conveniences. All of the rooms were carpeted, and one of the first things we knew we were going to do with the house was expose and refinish the hardwood. We were surprised / disappointed to find out when we removed the carpet that the floors originally had an area rug and was stained around - a fairly common practice at the time. What that meant for us was that we would always have a "ring" around the perimeter that was a different color. We were almost to the point of covering with new floor, afraid of what the end results would look like. But Jared was passionate that if these were his floors, he would be refinishing them. I love that personal investment, and I am so glad that we took the chance refinishing! Yes, you can see that little bit of a perimeter, but I am absolutely in love with the floors and all of the character they bring. More impressive was our main entry stairs. The woodworking on the stairs is incredible, and one of the things we most loved about the house, but the entire staircase was completely carpeted. We took off the carpet and it had this awful and impossible-to-remove green glue. Again, after a couple of days of trying to remove it, we were ready to give up on them and re-carpet and after talking to Jared he said "we can do this." So not only did they clean up the stairs completely, but he managed to mix and create the perfect stain color to match the old chestnut on the stairs - a mix of brown, orange, and yellow - depending on the angle you were looking at! They turned out absolutely incredible and are going to be a centerpiece in our home. Overall, I loved Jared's approach to the work, collaboration, and personality. He was absolutely the right fit for us, gave us a competitive price, and we are thrilled with the results. Thanks for caring about our place and giving us floors we will treasure forever!

We hired you for a kitchen demolition that went bankrupt and when nobody else would do the job, Calm and Carry On Construction did the entire renovation and exceeded our expectations from start to finish. They showed up when they said they would be there and updated at every major part and handled the snags smoothly without cutting corners. Their quality of work speaks for itself, sturdy, and beautifully done. I would recommend Calm and Carry On Construction to family, friends, and anyone who needs work done right. They helped us find exactly the materials they would need while we were away. They worked throughout the Labor Day weekend to get the project complete in our time frame (our neighbors even noticed how hard they were working while we were away!) Two issues with the materials came up while we were on vacation and they were able to make the run to the store to get the updated selections we purchased online. When we returned home, their craftsmanship was excellent! Everything looked exactly as we pictured and we love it!! Dave and Carlina were great to work with and always very responsive with communications! Much thanks to them and definitely the highest rating possible!

About an hour goes by I reach out to ask if they were still coming she says yes they got held up at Lowe's and will be there in 10 minutes. 20 minutes go by I start to call to cancel the appointment but saw them pulling in my drive way. The wife came in greeted me & appeared apologetic the husband "handyman" stood behind very stand off & seemingly annoyed. He came in my home I extended my hand and he was reluctant. Brushed it off showed them upstairs to the office and kids bedroom and what I needed done. I asked how long the service would take. Initially we agreed on 2-3 hours now it was 4-5 hours and they we're over an hour late. When I challenged the timeframe, the husband then abruptly blurted out "I don't need this!" Instructed his wife to grab his tools & I followed them out of my home. I felt very uncomfortable with them in my home esp the husband. He seem very unhinged & I smelled alcohol on him as he was leaving. They also left my office a mess. Don't leave ANYTHING to weaver!
