Our garage door opener was not working properly and we were able to schedule a next-day appointment (on the weekend) via the website, within a reasonably narrow time frame (2hrs). John Patton arrived promptly, provided excellent explanations of the work to be done, and was able to perform the work immediately with supplies from his truck. (We needed a new opener and new springs.) As he was performing the work, he was very knowledgeable to answer any questions I had, and he even set up the opener with our vehicles. I have no notes for John. I felt that the price was a bit high given the cost of the parts themselves, but the convenience and great service took most of the sting out of that. read more

I should have looked here for reviews before scheduling but I thought Yelp was only for restaurants!! Live and learn. Scheduling with Precision was fast and easy through their website. I did not get any acknowledgement or confirmation of the appointment so the day of the appointment I had to call to confirm myself. Not a big deal, did it for my own peace of mind. Chris showed up on time and ready to get to it. I showed him my concerns thinking I had a broken spring on my Wayne Dalton assembly since my door was jerking hard. He took the time to explain to me that it is not the springs, however since there was no adjustment it was time to replace the system with a traditional spring and pulley system. He said he needed to finish his inspection and work up options. After a few minutes he came back to me with two options. One was to replace the springs, rod and hardware as we discussed and the second included rollers that he said needed to be replaced. This is when I realized Precision works on an upsell sales methodology. I had just replaced those rollers in the summer and there was nothing wrong with them at all. The cost to replace was going to be 5 times more than it cost me to replace them before. I opted for the spring work which Chris finished quickly and accurately. The door now functions as it should. I can recommend Precision for their quality of work, but their pricing and sales method is way out of line of industry standards. After doing some research I really feel I did overpay for the work performed, but if I wanted to get a second opinion I would have had to pay Precision a $95 service call just to come out. I cannot recommend Precision to anyone who is not knowledgeable about garage door operation or the market pricing of various repairs. read more

I was told when I made the appointment that there would be a $95 fee to cover the "25-point safety inspection" that they must conduct before they begin work. Technician came out to look at my broken garage door and immediately told me it was "totaled". No way to repair, didn't have those obsolete parts any longer, etc etc. Quoted me on a new door $4000, said it wouldn't be in for 4-6 weeks. He had told me he would help to get my car out of the garage onto the driveway, but when I told him I needed to consult another garage repair company before committing to the new door, he said he couldn't help me with my car, or it would be $350 charge. Then he didn't even want to take my credit card to pay for the service call. He was only there to sell me a new door, not to attempt to repair. And the 25-point safety inspection? Not even one point....I called someone else and they did repair it and I will be writing that review next! Awesome! read more

a technician came out about a year ago to install sensors and also diagnose why the remotes in each car were only working intermittently (one is permanently in our SUV). I called today (25Jul24) and suggested that there's got to be a solution. I was told there'd be a $100 trip charge just to come & look at something that they've seen before & were unable to remedy. my real rating for this company is 0. called Precision because the lift arm became unattached so the door could not be opened or closed. technician came and said the springs were inadequate and it would cost $1995 to replace because it was a Wayne Dalton door and the springs alone would be $1000 so better to replace whole system. I said we needed to do some research before spending that much money and had the tech just reattach the lift arm. bill was $160 called Wayne Dalton spoke to service manager who thought precisions options were outrageous. had the Wayne Dalton tech out who checked everything and said nothing wrong and system should last another 5 years and when springs wear out it is usually about $500 for labor and parts. it seems Precision technicians are primarily paid on commission. The bottom panel on our overhead double garage door got hit. The panel was bent slightly on the lower right corner, and the adjacent roller was out of the track. Greg Gray with Precision Garage Door Service came to the house and told my wife he couldn't repair the panel, could not replace the panel, and the door would need to be replaced. Cost $5700.00. He suggested that we also replace the single overhead door next to this one if we wanted them to match. Cost $2200.00. He said if we ordered before the end of December, the motors would be free! I said no thanks. I called Overhead Garage Door Company and their tech fixed the door for $175.00. I found out later that Precision Garage Door Service techs work on commission. I would give them Zero stars, but the tech did show up on time. Buyer beware. read more

Predatory service technician, Devon, took advantage of my family while I was away. He charged my wife over $2000 for 2h of labor, new springs, rollers, cables, rollers, and (unnecessary) torsion rod for a two car garage door repair. How? By charging a "torsion rebuild package" with a flat price of $1999 on top of the service call charge. Well over 2x what any scrupulous company would have charged for the parts and labor. This is a reply to Crystal's response. Thank you for owning up to your company's scheduling error. The date and time was scheduled five weeks ahead. If there was an issue, there was plenty of time to fix it before the morning of the appointment. Not only was the original appointment that was confirmed the afternoon before it was first rescheduled to another day. It was rescheduled again the day it was cancelled to two hours later of the original time scheduled. A professional company would not have done that once let alone twice in a day. I do hope you treat other customers better but I just know my experience. I had the difficulty of getting in touch with Brett as he lacks voice mail, doesn't return calls and then his cancellation story that made no sense. Then the installer's mistakes that he had to redo made the job at least an hour longer. So no, I wouldn't use your company again or recommend it to others. read more

The quote they gave me was way more than I wanted to pay but they told me if they didn't make the repair the day they came to give me the estimate it would be several days or weeks before anybody else could come back to fix my garage door. It wasn't bad enough that I probably paid more than I really had to but they did a terrible job of installing the garage door opener on the wall. It's it's crooked and they got some kind of black grime from their dirty hands all over the wall then tried to cover it with a sticker. FYI, we did not have to replace our garage springs as they are fine (our garage door is used only sporadically), It was a lift belt that broke because adjustments weren't made to the springs. We had to replace our 40 year old wood garage door and after several estimates decided to go with this company. Once we met with the sales guy we learned that styles of items on their website where not items they carried so we had to settle for something different. It works, but we don't love it. Once the door was installed we had to get them out twice to stop the door from leaking into the garage. They never actually fixed it to where it's not leaking.my 40 year old garage door that was rotting out NEVER leaked. But my fancy new expensive door leaks like a sieve. I was very pleased with the new door service I received. The Haas door was a major improvement over our original door and it looks great. The sales rep, John Lefevre was really helpful and spent a lot of time going over all the options and had samples to show as well. I thought the price was also very reasonable and highly competitive with other companies that I received quotes from. The installers, Jaxon and Brian were quick, professional and friendly. There was a small deposit and I was able to pay the balance on credit card when the job was finished. They were even able to make some last minute additions for some decorative features so very accommodating. I would definitely highly recommend them. read more

Our project was to replace our aged, noisy, unsightly two-car garage door, tracks, and spring. From start to finish on this project, Precision gets 5 stars all the way. John, the Precision sales rep, reviewed our current door setup. He then presented us with a wide array of door styles and options. He recommended replacing our functional screw drive opener with a more modern opener for less wear-and-tear on the new door, as well as quieter operation. The price for totally overhauling our garage door system was awesome, completely reasonable. As an added benefit, we were able to pay the down payment (and final payment) by credit card, on site. While we had to wait for the door to be manufactured, the installation occurred well within the time frame expectation that John had set. Shane, our installer, was the best. He was on time and single-handedly removed, packed away and cleaned up the old door/hardware and installed the new door, hardware, and opener. The door is beautiful. The opener, springs, and new tracks provide whisper-quiet opening and closing. Shane reviewed the various aspects of the new door system, leaving a can of lubricant for an annual touchup as well as all the opener remotes we could possibly use, including an outside keypad (that he installed). When we noticed a few minor "touchup" issues, Shane offered to come out the next day (Saturday). Since the issues were minor, we agreed that the following week would be fine. Shane was out first thing Monday morning, issues resolved. 5 stars, no question: a door and opener that exceed our expectations; tremendous pricing; excellent people - both on the sales end and the installation end; and outstanding service. I contacted them via online chat for a garage door opener and installation and was told there would be a $75 dollar service charge to have someone come out to provide a quote. The rep said the cost would be waived if we did business with them and would have a tech call me. This may be industry standard but it should be cost of doing business in my opinion. They offered to have an inside sales person call me and I agreed. I received a call back from Oryan Smith the the inside scheduler. I explained we wanted to move from a chain drive to a belt drive unit. He suggested a 1/2 HP Liftmaster unit and gave me a price of $549 plus tax for the belt drive unit and installation. I agreed and we booked a time for two days later. The technician arrived on time. The first thing the tech said was he saw I was given a price of $549 but that was incorrect and it would be "slightly higher" at $699. There are extra charges, according to him, as a result of changing from chain to belt drive. He said the person I spoke to was a call center operator and didn't understand. He never even offered to call the office to explain the issue. I wasn't happy about the upcharge and told him no thanks and sent him on his way. He said the office would probably send me a bill for $75; I indicated it would not be paid as it was his company that refused to honor the price. I called Mr. Smith and explained how unhappy I was. He said the tech was wrong and should have honored the $549. When I asked why the tech was up charging me and if the tech was being dishonest - Mr. Smith said it sounded like he was. He spoke with his supervisor and said he could get a "senior tech" out the same day to do the installation. I asked him how I could possibly trust the company when their technician clearly tried to overinflate the cost of the job. Was the "senior technician" trained to be more honest than the tech they first sent to do the job? He had no answer but did agree to hold the price until the following Monday if I changed my mind. I just can't bring myself to trust this company. It was very clear that the tech either didn't want to do the job or - perhaps - works on commission and was trying to pad his wages. In any case, I do not wat to do business with an unscrupulous company so will be going elsewhere. read more

He removed the broken pieces from our garage door springs and showed me the difference in the configuration we had and how he could improve it with newer, more sturdy parts. I love the fact that when I called and told them the problem, that my spring broke, I was quoted $175 price. Funny enough, the tech wanted to do an over haul for $650 . I just had him replace the spring and it still cost $280! And that was with a coupon they provide. Far different price than $175. I guess they have you bend over a barrel. Not an honest business. Replaced the springs on my garage door for $600. I told them this seemed pricey, but they told me the springs were $160 each anyhow... no, this is not true, they are $20 at Lowes. By shear coincidence, and despite the new springs, my garage door opener stopped working the next week. They came to my house and tried to sell my wife an opener for another $600... she said no, and then they tried to charge her a $70 fee for just coming over. She challenged them on this and they acknowledged that it was a lie, and that it was a $39 fee... What the heck! They tried to sneak another $30... petty thievery. Anyhow I bought a top of the line belt driven garage door opener at Lowes for $160 and installed it myself. Another option Lowes offered was to have them install it for a $100 fee. This would be a total of $260 installed, much less than $600. Hope this helps. read more
