Wonderful experience! Someone answered the phone at 6:45 PM on Friday evening and was clear and understanding when I told her my garage door was damaged. It was not an emergency so she arranged for someone to come out first thing Monday morning. The technician, Chris, was very efficient and provided several options for repairing my aging garage door. He then did the repair work for a reasonable price and now my garage door hums when it opens and closes. I kinda miss the clanging and crunching noises it used to make but I think I can get used to my quieter garage door. These guys are good! read more

I arranged for service on my garage door opener. The door would not go up consistently. The person on the phone was very polite and made the appointment for the next day. Repair person arrived, investigated the problem and immediately started telling me everything that needed replaced. He even looked at another garage door with a different door opener and said I should replace that one too because it would need replacing eventually. I am a senior citizen and stroke survivor. I am handicapped. He was telling me I needed all these devices replaced. All I needed was one door opener repaired. This company is extremely unethical. He took advantage of me. Absolutely DO NOT USE this company for anything. read more

I really like that I could schedule online and for a same day appt. Justin showed up on time. The initial interaction was different than other repairs I've had done by other companies. It seemed he was more interested in how I found them which was via Google, asked if I read through their website, and asked for a 5 star review before assessing the repair. I felt like I was being interviewed. Our garage door is less than 2 years old. One wheel was popping out of the top of the track and needed popped back in. So a pretty easy fix. The wheels were not worn nor was the track. We were interested in a permanent solution to keep the one wheel from popping out of the track, Justin suggested a double vs single spring for better support of the double door. We were good with that but then kept asking the same question over and over about the wheel/s popping out of the track and asked several times how many times they've popped out which were only a few so that he could say they were worn and suggest to replace those too. When we started questioning the need to repair the wheels, he suggested that he'd like to leave. And so he did. read more

This company advertises that they do repairs. They do not repair anything. They only try to sell new products. When and if you decline any new products, be prepared for the $175 service fee! read more

You should not have to give a 1 rating to a scam operation. Called Precision Door to get a service tech to come out and fix my malfunctioning garage door. Precision Door came out and I demo'd the problem and the tech proceeded to try and convince me that the garage door opener was shot. He performed his 25 point checklist and then proceeded to try an upsell me a new opener with options from $1800 to above $3000 !! Called another company and demo'd the problem. The Tech knew immediately what the problem. He had the part on the truck for $35 and completed the repair in 15 minutes, literally. This other company also was selling the same garage door openers (Lift Master) that Precision sells for 1/3 the cost! I called the Precision Door to complain and was told someone would call by the end of the day. A few days later I called and got the General Manager. I explained the problem and he dodged the issue and tried to defend thier actions based on the 25 point inspection list. The Precision Door tech knew exactly what the real issue was. He had no intention of fixing the real problem. All he wanted to do was get me into an $3000 solution to a $35 problem. Bait and Switch Precision Door preying on old people that cannot DIY. Run them out of business and out of town. read more

I had a single spring above the door brake. The rest was working just fine. I told the technician that I did not want a "Comprehensive" check up of the whole system just the spring fixed. I left, he did a complete check of the cables, rollers, motor etc etc and was able to find something wrong with each part and repeatedly kept saying "well you want to be safe" or "if being safe doesn't matter to you". Had 3 recommendations - each progressively more expensive culminating in replacing everything. It was just a spring and said he couldn't do the spring without replacing the cables that run along the sides of the door - FOR SAFETY because they were so frayed - they weren't. This is my 5th home, I've probably had a spring replaced in each of them over 40 years and never had that horse to argue with a tech to just replace the spring!!! I told him to leave and I'd find someone else. read more

First I will Never utilize this company again and will Never recommend it to Anyone!!!! On 7/3/24, I had a technician out to look at my garage door opener unit. He first, lied about several things but as I later found out from another company, Garage Door Expert, the thing he said was the primary issue was a huge lie. Second, he tried to up sell me on things I didn't need. Finally, I was charged $145.00 for a "service call" but it did me No service to have them out. With Garage Door Expert, not only did I get the issue resolve but it only cost me $135. So in terms of dollars the Precision tech was talking $700 - $800 on the Low end. Precision is HORRIBLE!!!!! read more

Precision Overhead Door does not stand behind their lifetime warranty. My garage door was installed in Oct 2021. I have had issues with wind blowing thru my door and had service techs out 3 times to address the issue. At one point I had snow piled up inside my garage door due to wind blowing thru. My final service date was 2/17/23. On 7/1/23, I came home from the Taylor Swift concert to find my door caved in in the middle and inoperable. A Precision tech came out on 7/3/23 and proceeded to tell me that wind caved my door in and I should have had metal support braces installed on the inside of my door. This is the first I have been told this after having 3 previous service calls for issues. I was quoted $4,999.00 for a new garage door install. I spoke to a manager (Dave) on 7/3/23 and was told "he has never seen a door cave in like mine and he has been in the business a long time". He then tried to convince me that something had to have hit my door even though I told him I had a car parked on the left side of my driveway so it would be impossible for something to hit the middle of my door without also hitting my car. He still tried to convince me that's the only possible thing that could have happened. When I told him I wanted my door replaced for free under their warranty he scoffed at me. I told him I believe my door has been defective since the day it was installed and he disagreed. He asked if he could come inspect my door with a different tech. I told him yes but now he isn't returning my calls and hasn't scheduled an appt to inspect my door again. I have received a quote from a different garage door company for an upgraded door for $2,500. This company told me they purchase their garage doors from the same distributor as Precision and they are clearly marking their doors up by an exorbitant amount. I recommend you use any other garage door company other than Precision Overhead Door. They do not stand behind their warranty and they are ripping customers off with their extremely high mark up of their products. read more

These guys charge twice market value and require a deposit that is 30% of the job cost and 70% (talking about the deposit here) of what competitors charge for the entire job. I paid them 1200 for nothing and had Cincinnati Doors install the door, still saved 800 bucks after losing the 1200 deposit I had paid for the Precision estimate. Nobody else requires a 30% deposit for an estimate. I recently had my Cat Convertor stolen and a storm was rolling in. The top panel of my door was missing, couldn't put it up by myself. Mr. Precision said there was a tornado warning (not) and if we didn't replace that top panel, my lower panels would be sucked out damaging my cars and destroying everything in the garage. He said he couldn't help me replace the missing panel unless I agreed to give him the job. So I thought, how bad could this price be? Double is what is was. My fault. Don't repeat it. read more

I was not happy with these guys due to the fact that they promote fixing any type of garage doors, but when they arrive they tell you that they don't service the one I have installed. The technician also refused to touch the photo safety eyes that were installed stating its against the law. Of course his main recommendation was to buy an $800 dollar operator system. The ultimate was that after all this he charged me $76 for not even touching a thing! What they should do before coming out to rob you of your money is to ask you what type of door you have, or just simply send some photos. This way no one wastes their time and money. read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would! After agreeing to very expensive repair and waiting nearly 2 weeks for an appointment that required me to take a day of vacation from work, they finally called at 4 pm and said they needed to reschedule for Monday. I told them to just cancel the entire project, I will find a reliable company that keeps its appointments and has more respect for its clients. Precision? PRECISELY WHO NOT TO CALL!!!! read more
