PDQ Doors deserves a positive review. My house is only 3 years old. Everything was brand new by the builder from day 1. Since new I could hear the garage door open up from anywhere inside the house. It was loud! Fast forward to current time and one of the torsion springs broke making it totally inoperable. I had to come home from work and manually lift the door so my wife could get her car out. I called PDQ at 0800 the following morning. They had two technicians there by 1030. He went over my options to just replace with the cheapest springs that the builder installed . He also suggested replacing both at the same time. He also pointed out that the stainless steel rollers were misaligned and two had the bearings shot. He gave me a quote which was reasonable. The garage is our main entry/exit to our house and the door operates constantly. He showed me other options to make things last longer. Installing heavier duty springs and nylon rollers would be a major upgrade. He was not pushy or trying to up sell. He just made sense. I opted for the better parts. The install was done in a couple of hours with adjustment and inspection of a third carriage garage door done in courtesy. I highly recommend PDQ. They were on the spot, knew what they were doing and reasonable. I honestly can't hear the garage door open or close at all while inside the house. read more

We needed a new garage door (original was 38 years old) so we tried this company. We got the estimate on Friday and the new door was installed on Monday. Casey was the original estimator and Rodney was the installer (by himself, no less) We saved $500 just by using a coupon out of the local coupon magazine. Contracted for their tune up special. Included inspection and was told could fix anything wrong that they find for an additional charge, which is fair. Only problem is, they carry no parts to fix anything, not even the special garage type light bulbs. And depending on the brand of door you have, they couldn't fix anything other than certain brands. I've had this company work at my home multiple times. They have installed all 5 of our garage doors. The latest call was for one of the doors being noisier than normal when opening and closing. Rodney, the service technician, did a great job diagnosing the issue and fixing the problem with parts right on his truck. I highly recommend them if you have garage door needs. Just had a new door installed on our 1953-built home. Great people, friendly and helpful. One significant problem: salesman Rob either did not catch or did not know that the kind of door we ordered might look a bit off unless the door opening is all even and square. After 70 years, it isn't; the door opening height is an inch off from one end to the other. The pattern on the door makes that quite visible, like a picture crooked in the frame. It would have been better in terms of how it looks to get a flush door over one with a pattern, but we didn't know that. Until now, after the door is installed. A bit disappointing, and not fixable. This was for a service call that was never fixed. I did receive a quote for a new door, $550.00. I was told my door was discontinued and that it would be expensive to fix. I did it myself for $69.00. They diagnosed the issue incorrectly and simply pushed for the door to be replaced. Can't say I will call them back. read more

If you've ever come home to see the garage door closed on one side and about 6 inches off the ground on the other, you'll know the urgent need of a garage door service person. I called PDQ on a Thursday afternoon, and by Thursday evening, a young man had replaced not one, but two of my door springs for me. I felt the price was maybe a bit steep, but I also have to say, it was an after-hours call and I hadn't ever called for pricing on a garage door spring. I will say, I called two other places and they were happy to schedule an appointment for the following week, and when I asked the others for an estimate, they were way over the price I paid for PDQ. The tech showed up, walked around for 10 minutes telling me everything that he could not do and then had the audacity to charge me $150 for doing absolutely nothing! He said it was a "service call" and had to charge me. BS! He did schedule for a sales rep to come out the next day to sell me a new garage door for approx. $1800-$2000 for a single car garage door?! Absolute rip off! The existing door is in perfect condition and my brother and I repaired it the following weekend for less than $200. Buyer beware. Stay away from this company. Completely dishonest. On 08-04-21 I ordered a new garage door from PDQ Doors. I was required to put a down payment of $616 for the door. The remaining balance of $1846 was to be paid to the company upon complete installation. I was told the door would take 6 weeks to arrive from the manufacturer. Nine weeks later, on 10-07-21, the door was installed by PDQ employee Jim Stuntebeck. Jim completed the install of the door, knowing one of the panels was damaged. Jim informed me about the damaged panel AFTER he installed it. He said PDQ would replace the damaged panel, but still required me to pay the remaining balance right then and there. I was given no other option by Jim but to pay in full, despite my door being damaged and installed. I paid the balance of $1846 on 10-07-21. Jim said a new panel would take 10 weeks to arrive. Yes, 10 additional weeks for a customer that was forced to pay in full. Furious with this, I called PDQ and spoke with Mark who then said he could get a new panel in 4 weeks. Clearly the full paying customer in this case had to bang the drum to get service. Five weeks later a new panel was to be installed, but on 11-17-21 Mark called to tell me the new panel was damaged as well. It would now take another 8-10 weeks for a new panel. Upset and worried the new panel would not match the others, I offered to keep the damaged panel "as is" if they would refund me 15% of what I had paid in total payment for the door, which was $2462. So why did I do this? Two reasons. One, PDQ employees Jim and Mark have admitted to me the new panel may not match the other 3 panels due the time and weather. Would any consumer be ok with a brand new door having mismatched panels? I think not! Second, their very own employee Jim said to me on the day of install that asking for a % off to keep a damaged panel would be an option. He could not approve this, but someone else could if my offer was reasonable. I think it is more than reasonable considering it's been 6 weeks since I have paid in full and the door is not fixed and looks like it will be well into January 2022. Bottom line, I have a damaged door that PDQ knowingly installed and was forced to pay in full for this door. Bad business practices. And when I tried to end the situation, was told I was unreasonable. Casey now accuses me of "threatening" them. This is quite laughable. I was very upfront with him and Mark about what my actions would be--BBB, reviews, litigation. And, I am in the process of following through on all of them. These are the rights of any consumer who feels cheated for a paid product or service. My advice: stay away from PDQ Doors because not only do they have unfair business practices, but their customer service is 3rd class. read more

He truly had our best interests at heart, as he went above and beyond the call of duty to assure that our doors were in perfect working order before he left. PDQ was very responsive when we ordered 3 new garage doors/openers in the Spring 2020. Each door has 2 plastic window grid inserts. However, in Feb 2022, one of the plastic window inserts came "loose" and subsequently broke into pieces while one of the garage doors was being opened. Ironically, this door is hardly ever used. PDQ never mentioned this as a possibility or something for which to watch on this design. PDQ is charging us nearly $200 to replace this piece plus a service charge to come and "properly" install it. Garage maintenance reps have told us they have NEVER seen this happen to a door before. This was likely a defective piece. Very disappointing to learn this and be charged an exorbitant amount of money for something that should have never broken. We have now waited well over 2 months for the replacement piece. Can no longer recommend this company. read more

I've used PDQ for years and they have been great to work with (2 different houses). The prices were competitive for replacing our non insulated door with a thicker insulated door. Now our garage stays around 55 degrees in the winter. We had a screeching sound when our would go up and they came right out and adjusted it under warranty at no cost. We've been able to schedule them to come out same day when needed, and the bottom line is, I continue to use PDQ because they resolve the issues I've had with may garage doors and openers and I don't have to worry about it. read more

I set an appointment online for Saturday between 11am-1pm. Soon after I received and email confirmation for the date and time. I waited at my house from 11am-1pm, but nobody showed up and nobody called. Finally at 1:30pm I called and the lady who answered was unable to tell me if anyone was coming out to my house and was trying to schedule a Monday service call. Apparently their online appointment system doubles as a garbage-can for customer time. I hung up and took my business elsewhere. 1/8 Update: A manager did contact me to apologize and explain that they didn't have their normal office staff working and my online appointment was not picked up by anyone. I still wasted my time and took my business elsewhere, but I'll give them credit for at least calling me back to explain. Overall, I would not recommend using their online appointment system unless you plan to call immediately afterward to confirm...this of course kind of defeats the purpose of having an online appointment system. read more

I like my garage doors very much. The installers were good. My complaint is customer service. I had to initiate the follow up calls to see if the doors came in & when could they be installed. I texted the salesman who gave me the quote about 5 weeks after the initial appointment, he never texted me back, so I had to call the store, then I was set up for the install date, which was 7 weeks later not 4-5 weeks. (not a big deal), but would have been nice to keep up the communication. When the installers came I had hard-wire connected to my old motors. They don't do the hard-wire stuff. No one informed me about this until the install day, they said the salesman should've mentioned this before, but he made a mistake. (ok, I really didn't know what they were talking about with the hard-wire stuff, but when they were almost done, I saw what they were talking about). What I didn't expect was the hard-wire just hanging down not taped or secured! The motor plugs had to be plugged into extension cords, which also were just hanging down, there was no way I could park in the garage like that!! They said they shouldn't have installed the doors until I had the box for the plugs, not hot-wire. I guess they did me a favor for the companies mistake? If I had known that needed to be done, 7 weeks was surely enough time to get it done. Then I took a survey of my concerns, it said someone would be in touch, but no one ever called, but they sure did cash my check in a timely manner!!! Update: I received a genuine call after this review. Cody was very apologetic. I appreciated the phone call. I know everyone makes mistakes, I have no hard feelings about this. I would use PDQ again. Do not use this company! We have had our garage door a year and a half, and the trim has already unattached from the frame. The first time I contacted them, I refused to pay the service charge because it's been less than a year and a half, it shouldn't be falling apart! The gentleman I spoke with, Nate, shared he would connect with the manager to see if we could waive the fee. Needless to say after sending pictures, I never heard back from Nate. Needless to say, no one showed up for the Tuesday appointment. A week and a half later, as more and more of the trim is coming off, I call again and get the opportunity to speak to one of the rudest individuals whose name was Mark, the dispatch manager. After I got him up to speed, he argued with me that Nate did in fact follow up, which he did not. He then told me they were not willing to waive the service charge. I then went on to ask him if their goal is to make shit products, because after paying what we did for our garage door, it should not be falling a part. His response and I quote "well it has been a year and a half." I then followed up with, oh okay so after a year and a half, your products should fall a part.. got it. Save yourself the time, and trouble of dealing with these people. They are not good business owners and have zero respect or consideration for their customers. We called to have a spring replaced on the garage door on October 18. The rep said the tech would be out between 11am-1pm. He did not arrive until almost 2pm, a rep said they were 'delayed on another job'. Upon arrival, he was in such a rush, that he negligently tried to yank the aluminum door up causing it to come off the track and bend in half. He then proceeded to tell me that the door was 'really old and cheap- contractor grade' so it wasn't his fault. He also tried to tell me that the door was already bent before he got there. Now, the door is visibly bent. It shakes so badly when in operation, that I'm afraid to park a car in there. When we spoke to the CEO, Casey, he told me that the tech said the door was already damaged before he got there. He was willing to 'reinforce' the door for free but that there is no guarantee it will hold up for more than a few months. OR he will replace the door for $250. Before PDQ touched my door, it was fine. Now, I am forced to spend $250 to fix an error they caused. PDQ needs to do better with holding their service people accountable and doing right by the customer. I will never again work with them and I highly encourage everyone to avoid this company if you want "honest work". read more

Joe, the Service Repair Guy fixed my garage springs and was very nice and knowledgeable. I was very happy with his work ! The only reason I did not give five stars had nothing to do with the work, but more with the office. I called at opening and was told computers were down. (that happens, I understand) When I called back later, they said that I was not really in their area but will do it because someone was in the area. I am not that far from Milford and was surprised that they would not service this area. They did however, get me in and the work was very good and professional. I would recommend them, but they need to expand area - this is growing area and could be good for their business. read more
