Dr. Checroun is the best doctor and one of the most compassionate, caring people my husband and I have ever met. We both have very complicated issues with our vision. Dr. Checroun gives great thought to the best course of action and has even called us at home to check on our progress! What doctor have you ever had that actually thought about your well being after hours? My husband and I would recommend Dr. Checroun and his staff to anyone who wants to have the highest level of care for their vision. Jane & D read more

Well...I don't normally bother to update reviews but this business owner apparently really has an issue if you don't give a completely positive review and will come back after you 5 YEARS LATER! I barely remember this place but apparently they have my records ready to go for correcting my "lier" ways. Good luck to you Precision. I have moved forward and hope you can too...maybe in another 5 years or so... read more

I just noticed this "business" left me a nasty private message, this proving my point. STAY AWAY!!! Far away!!! They need to learn that treating people rudely is not going to keep them in business. Instead of messaging me to see if we could smear stuff up, she threatens me. LOL. I would be surprised if they are still even in business. read more

Right before Thanksgiving (2020), I had an eye exam there. I opted to purchase my sunglasses there (huge mistake). It's now the middle of February (2021!) and I still don't have my sunglasses. The first time around I was told that the lab didn't get the coating right, so they sent them back. That happened twice. Then I finally got them but the prescription was wrong so I had to go back, get another exam and then the glasses had to be sent back to the lab again. Last week I called to ask about the status of my glasses, which I paid almost $500 for, and was told someone would call me back with an update. That didn't happen. Surprise! I called again yesterday and was told that the lab, once again, got the prescription wrong, so they had to send them back again. I will be asking for my money back and I"m headed to Costco to get glasses there, where I know I will get them within one week (or less)! NOTE: Dr. Settlage was great and did a fine job so there is no complaint there with her level of expertise and professionalism. 3-8-21 Update: I went to pick up the glasses on 3-5-21 and surprise....the prescription was wrong again. We agreed that they would refund me my money, which they did, so that was appreciated. When I was leaving, they asked if I would remove this review which I've opted not to only because if someone is considering ordering glasses from them, I would be very wary. read more

I have been going here since moving to Arizona. The staff is awesome, the follow up is awesome, they care about the patient and take time to go over your results right away. The selection of frames and styles makes this provider easily my favorite health professional. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Checroun for approx. 6-8 yrs. He is extremely kind and thorough. I've purchased 4 pairs of glasses from them. I always find the staff polite and helpful. One of the pair of glasses gave me trouble and they were gracious regarding me coming back to correct them and the Dr. did an adjustment (no charge). Also I had a pair break and so did my son. They sent them to be fixed immediately and they came back quickly. Also they were very kind to replace the rubber nose on my sunglasses twice when they broke which I did not purchase from them. I've also changed out many contact trials with the bifocal contacts & they were very patient. While there are a handful of neg reviews I'm sure they have 100's of satisfied customers who don't take the time to post. read more

I don't normally write reviews but I felt this was needed. I just moved to Scottsdale and needed an exam and updated lenses. The whole process felt rushed. They pushed me on an exam that was not covered on my insurance. I declined, then after my exam the doctor comes back to me and tells me i really should have it done its an extra $35. OK, I just went along with it because i hadn't had an exam in a while. So an assistant comes in and performs the exam, then the doctor comes in and try's to explain to me the results..... he fumbled through some laminated pictures trying to explain the results of the exam, that i really don't think he could understand. He never gave me a direct answer. The whole process took about 5 min, and nothing came of it. Then he tried to push another exam on me. I respectfully declined.....and me mumbled, well maybe when you come back. I SAID NO! I already had frames, i just needed the lenses, the assistant pushed me to pay over what my insurance covered, which may I add was more than enough for what i needed! She was rude and rushed me not even explaining why I was paying more than the copay. To be honest, almost as if she was coached as how to handle patients in getting more money out of them. This was the kicker........When I went back to pick up my glasses, after the assistant fitted my glasses, she asked for my regular insurance card... not my vision insurance they had already charged, but my regular insurance. I had already paid them after the prior visit, this visit was just to pick up my glasses. I asked "what do you need my regular insurance for?" and she tells me the doctor, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION OR EVEN DISCUSSING WITH ME, wanted to run another test that was not covered by my vision insurance. Basically trying to get more money out of me and my insurance. I declined and said no thanks. 2 weeks later HE calls again trying to schedule an appointment. He was trying to milk my insurance for everything he could. Unprofessional and honestly a crook. read more

Never had any issues with this office after going there for years. I feel negative reviews sound like spoiled Scottsdale residents not getting 100% perfect or unreasonable expectations. Also, a lot of people complaining about frames, etc. This is not the fault of the office if you didn't like your frames and they are usually clear about what they are recommending or charging for, if you don't want all that stuff, they will gladly remove it. Never had one bit of issues with staff. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Checroun probably since 2008 for computer vision issues and aging. When I first started going there I had fairly good coverage and they had decently priced designer frames like Coach and Kate Spade and ones that were popular for the time. For the first few years I dealt with the same staff and never felt pressured in anyway. Since changing job and having better coverage, I definitely have felt the sales commission pressure. Last time I was in I felt completely out of my element with high priced designer frames like Chanel, Cartier, Tom Ford, Stella McCartney and Dior. All after my $200 frame allowance I was pressured into a frame that was an additional approximately $800. I then immediately went to my first pick and only paid $75 including my copay. Last year I ordered sunglasses instead of everyday since my prescription did not change much and I was pressured for longer than expected (20 minutes) to get progressive lenses, something I didn't need! The first no thank you, should have been good, but the loss of $300 on their part, she was grasping and it was annoying. I also don't remember ordering polarized lenses, but I hate them and do not wear them. I liked a pair of Kate Spade frames from the tiny cheapest area and had them ordered come the new year. Within a few months paint was chipping off the frame and look like crap. Since transitional lenses were covered free in my coverage, that was ordered too and NONE of my 5-6 previous glasses ever had transitions... I hate it because, can't drive with them on (because I can't stand the polarized sunglasses) and they take forever to lighten and do not darken in the high temps. I understand a business needs to revamp the office here and there but it seems like this office does a remodel yearly. Too scottsdale for me I guess. Also, the talking and gossiping about other clients when clients are in the lobby. We can hear you! I was picking up frames and two of the gals were bad mouthing a client that just left. There's a time and a place, not with clients in ear shot. The only reason for the 3 stars is for the staff pushing things that I don't want or need and my last order had the transitions added without asking me. And also I have scratch resistant frames supposedly and my last 3 sets of lenses have not been dropped or in a harmful situation and have become easy scratched. Of course "sorry, you have to buy new lenses" instead of trying to buff it out like other places do. I really do like De. Checroun, he is extremely friendly, kind and thorough. He found a serious problem with my father that I'm grateful for, that had to handled by a higher level of care. It's just now way too much for me, I just need glasses, not a fashion statement or to be sporting Cartier or Tom Ford frames, that's the last thing I look at is the name on a persons glasses. Don't need to spend $1000 on frames. Good for you if you can, but as a blue collar family, no. So back off on the sales... and just let people pick glasses and offer help if they look crooked or not fitting the face. read more

First, despite the other reviews I thought the staff was excellent! I bought a pair of glasses and found the staff on top of everything with regards to selection, ordering and pickup. Not sure why other reviews have been bad. Second, I do think Kayla G's review that says "she only likes to work with medical offices with the best of service" is the most entitled attitude I have seen. Unless she is paying CASH for services, she should expect mediocre service since that all that insurance plans pay for these days. Get a reality check Kayla... read more

BEWARE!!!!! I visited this doctor on referral from my PCP. Precision Eyecare called me for an appt and asked for insurance information. I assumed that was to make sure I was covered before they saw me. A year later I got a bill for $165 and was told the claim was denied because the dr is out of network. What kind of bullshit medicare provider does not authorize insurance before seeing a patient?!! Be sure to check your insurance provider before wasting your time seeing a substandard dr with a terrible staff working for him. Don't know how they manage to stay in business. They're the worst! read more

I have been working for large chemical manufacturers, in sales, for over 20 years, and I have never experienced a lack of professionalism and customer service. I went to the site for an eye exam and got new eyeglasses. The issue came when I returned the glasses after wearing them for a week to have them to readjust the lenses as the pupil dimensions were in correct. This error caused what is called prism vision, the text letters would appear with a shadow or like double vision. This error was verified by an independent optician. After dropping off my glasses to get the lenses corrected I received a call from their office about 2 hours later. I was told they wouldn't send the lenses to the lab to be corrected and I would need to come back to pick up the glasses and they would refund only the lenses or $225. I called my insurance, VSP, to get a fair resolution. In returning to their office, I had to demand that the insurance claim for the lenses be reversed. Apparently, they were happy to take my money but were not going to stand by their product. Providing the exam and taking the correct measurements is their business, not my. Wow, in over 20 years in business I have never experienced this type of poor service. Yet, I have read where people or businesses have swindle individuals to get the money. Good luck to all who go to Precision Eyecare. read more

This is Another update on the negative review I made in March 2018. Since March I would find that every time I wore my sunglasses I would feel like I wasn't seeing clearly or that possibly my vision had changed since the sunglasses were made. A week ago I went to an independent optician with the eye exam prescription and asked the optician to compare the sunglasse prescription to the Eye examination prescription... The sunglass prescriptions did not match the eye exam prescription! So I have now had to incur additional expenses by having amother pair of prescription sunglasses made. I am still reeling from the incompetence of those affiliated with precision Eyecare. For some reason I am not able to post this review with zero stars; I had to post at least one star for this review to be posted. read more

Dr. Checroun is a great medical eye doctor. I started seeing him last year, to help with severe dry eyes. He has made a huge difference and the staff is equally helpful / friendly. He is very thorough and definitely cares for his patients. I'd recommend him to all. Also, if you are looking for a great selection of eyewear - they have it. A bit pricy compared to other options, but if you have HSA, why not? read more

I have been going to Precision Eyecare for 5 years and have been generally quite happy. Dr. Chacroun is an MD and for many of us that matters since we want more than updates on our eyeglass prescriptions. He is a quiet, almost shy, person but I find the exams I get to be thorough and accurate in terms of the prescriptions. The selection of frames that you can choose from is pretty wide and the front office staff is extremely focused on your wants and they aim to please. I've had a couple of problems with lenses in the 5 year period (coating delamination was the last one) and the staff made sure that the problem was fixed at no cost to me by the lab in very short order. I wouldn't be put off by some of these other reviews. Costco or Wal-Mart are cheaper, of course, but the quality of care will be quite different. Go to them for second pairs of glasses but for primary care of your vision and eyes this is a good place to be. read more

I have complicated eye issues and have been to three of the most respected eye doctors in this area over the last year and a half. Then I found Dr. Checroun and his support staff who patiently took the time needed to help find solutions for my issues. I've never been to a clinic like this that ran so many different tests that I didn't know existed. They have the equipment and the knowledge that others did not offer me. The Dr. would not let me leave until he determined the best options for me. There was not your typical rush to get you out the door. Dr. Checroun and his staff really are what the name of their clinic represents: PRECISION EYECARE. Where you will find great attention to detail in everything they do. Their frame selection is top notch. Formerly being in the fashion industry I am a picky shopper and their assortment of eyeglass designers is the best I've seen. I ended up having a hard time narrowing it down from the many frames I loved. They even offered that I can meet with one of their designer reps to see more options. (Jenny was especially very patent and helpful). Thank you all for helping me solve the challenges I had with my eyes that the 3 previous Dr's could not! read more

Called to get in for an eye emergency- said they'd check and call me right back for an appointment. It's been 4 days and have had issues seeing. Good thing I don't have to drive my car, take care of kids or work! Thus place SUCKS and they are soooooo rude. I'd rather pay full price than go there for insurance! read more

Worst staff ever. I was appalled at how bad the "optician" was. She had NO IDEA how to adjust eyeglasses, simply handed them to me. When I (politely) asked her to adjust them, I got a blank stare. When you pay the price this place charges for eyeglasses, you need a competent optician. I will never go back there. Horrid. read more

The staff was incredibly friendly and the doctor was nice enough and did a thorough exam dealing with the issue I was having. However, he walked up to the front desk afterwards and demanded payment immediately. So incredibly unprofessional, rude, and inappropriate. I somewhat understand collecting payment upfront, but only if you have warned of that service in advance, and then let the front desk lady who is dealing with me already do her job by asking me. Dr. Checroun did not walk away or say "bye" or "nice to meet you" or "hope you are feeling better" ..he just stood there until I handed over payment...as though he really doubted I would ever pay! Is he that bad of a doctor that he can't possibly trust someone to pay the 100.00 for the appointment or is such a bad doctor that he needs this one bill paid now because he has no patients who would ever return after their experience with him? They have my SS, my address, my ID, my insurance card (which they take my insurance)...SEND me a bill after it goes through my insurance and wait for me to mail in my payment like every other medical office. At the very least, thank me and say bye as you leave and don't come across desperate for money - let your front office billing staff demand the upfront payment. But honestly, no where on your forms does it say upfront payment is demanded...every other medical office I go to in Scottsdale and Phoenix for the last 10 years has sent me a a bill after running insurance. There is no wonder now why you were the ONLY ophthalmologist in scottsdale to have an opening that morning! read more

This place is TERRIBLE! I am a R.N. I called to make an appointment for both me and my husband and gave them our VSP information. She INSISTED that I give them our health/medical insurance information and said "well, doctor C is an MD so he may want to do additional testing." I said, "Ok, we can give you that one he does an initial evaluation" but she INSISTED I give it to her ahead of time. A week later, they called me 4 hours before my husband's appointment and said "Doctor C wants to do additional testing and you have not met your deductible for the year." I said, "He has not even done a cursory/initial examination of my husband, what are you talking about and our deductible has been met." She said they used an outside agency to verify insurance deductibles. She would call them and then call me to update me. She called me back 15 minutes later and told me Dr. C DROPPED US BOTH AS PATIENTS!!! For simply asking questions. Word to the wise: do not go to ANY doctor who recommends a bunch of testing before you even step foot in their office..............#moneygrubber read more
