Fear is the best way to start my feeling toward going to the Dentist. Precision Dental advertises on the radio and I have listened to their adds wondering if they were accurate or just words to make you scheduled an appointment. After a couple of months of considering, I made an appointment. I arrived at their facility and checked in with the front desk. From that point through the original check up and the following visit I have been so impressed and feel so comfortable. I have never felt that about a dentist office. I have had some real bad experiences in the past but I have finally found a place that I can look forward to going and feel comfortable doing it. Thank you so much and we will see you again soon! This is the worst place to get any dental work done. They did a root canal on me on tooth number 13 and The Crown they put on didn't fit properly, and it's caused me severe pain, they refer me to somebody else that's going to charge me another $1000 after it's all said and done and I have to pay for it You think after I gave them $3000 to do a root canal with a Crown? If you were sitting issues that would take care of it, no, they don't instead, they refer you to another dentist because they screwed app and they're hoping someone else fits the problem and charged you for it, I will never go back to this company again. Dr. Ochoa was highly recommended for my daughter's sleep apnea.   We had a 2:30 appt.  I called in the morning to confirm as it is quite a ways out to the office.  There was a terrible accident on Hwy 55 that delayed us 20 mins or so. I called the office from the highway to let them know the situation.  They told me it was a fatal accident and the highway was being shut down.  They said take your time, be safe, etc.  We get there, take temps, etc.   Then I'm handed an iPad and politely told there is a little paperwork that needs to be completed.   After about 20 mins I'm asked if I am finished.  I respond that I'm not even close.  It's a TON of paperwork.  The forms are redundant (why do I have to confirm on every form that I am the patient's parent and give my name yet again?) and frankly obnoxious (as others have pointed out, you have to agree to pay for missed appointments, they require my SSN and my 14 year old daughter's SSN, etc.).  I'm a little annoyed there is so much paperwork, but I suck it up and keep marching through.   Then I get to this one:  "I have had the opportunity to discuss any alternatives to this treatment with my dentist.  All of my questions were answered to my satisfaction regarding such alternatives and their risks, benefits and costs."  So, just to be clear, at this point I haven't even seen the dentist, much less had the opportunity to discuss anything.  I haven't asked any questions or been provided any information on risks, benefits or costs.   You have to check the box agreeing to the statement (which, if checked, would be a complete lie) to proceed.  I walk up to the counter, explain my concern to the receptionist.  I don't like lying.  I don't want to lie.  Can we somehow proceed without forcing me to lie?  She says no problem.  She'll look into it.   A few minutes later a different woman invites us into her small office.   She's confrontational.  I don't recall the exact words but she was putting blame on me, when really their paperwork is outrageous.  I explain to her I don't want to lie and I shouldn't be forced to lie.  She tries to convince me I'm wrong.  That the language just means that they will answer my questions eventually and of course they aren't asking me to lie.  I try to explain myself.  Actually, no, it's past tense.  I "have had the opportunity to discuss..." "All of my questions were answered..."  She's condescending and insinuates I just don't understand.  She says listen we just need you to sign the HIPAA form and we're good.  I say great.  She hands me the iPad set to the signature line.  I scroll up to see what I'm signing.  She sighs, clearly annoyed that I'm trying to read what I'm signing and says it's just HIPAA.   I say that's great.  I'm happy to sign.  I just need to read what I'm signing.   She flutters her hand in front of the screen (intentionally impeding my reading) and tells me she can explain to me what it says.   I tell her I appreciate the offer but I'd like to read what I'm signing.   Basically it says, they've given (past tense again) me a copy of their privacy practices, I've read them, I understand them and I agree to them.   None of that is true.   They hadn't offered me a copy of their privacy policy.  I hadn't read it and I didn't understand it.   I say, here we go again.   Is there a way for me to continue without you forcing me to lie..?  Please tell me we can proceed without requiring me to lie. She's steaming mad now.  She says, "It's just HIPAA!!" She says she's gonna go chat with the dentist.   After a long wait she comes back... The dentist will not see me.   "It's probably not a good fit."  I say what?  It's not a good fit? They explain that they sent me the paperwork twice.  (Not true.). They blame me for not having the paperwork done in advance.  I assure them I never received any paperwork and remind them I called this morning to verify the appointment and no one said hey, can you complete the paperwork before you come out.   They won't bend.  Dr. Ochoa won't see me.   I try to convince them that it's not polite or reasonable to require your customers to lie in order to business with you.   I ask to speak to Dr. Ochoa directly.  They refuse.  They ask me to leave.   I agree to leave after they refund my money (yeah, they ran my card while I was doing the paperwork) and give me a printout of everything I signed.   My daughter and I leave and get in our car.  I call my wife to try to explain the madness.  Next thing I know, two police cars pull in and are asking me to leave the parking lot!  They reported me for trespassing, sitting in my car with my daughter in the parking lot of a strip mall!!  Since this experience I've read the numbers negative yelp reviews complaining about the office's billing practices.  I've also learned of their C rating from the BBB.   I think we dodged a bullet.   Dr. Ochoa, I'd welcome the opportunity to discuss this experience with you directly. read more

I am very disappointed with this office. I have been a patient for years even though they are very expensive because I had great dental insurance and their office is around the corner from me. Unfortunately, the crown they placed on my back tooth fell out. I tried calling several times but could not get through so I just went to the office. I LITERALLY had my crown in my hand. When I went in they were extremely rude and said I had a balance. I was surprised because I was just there a few months ago and paid upfront for the work they did. It was THOUSANDS of dollars. I was able to make an appointment for the crown today(the next day). I came home and called the insurance company about this "balance" and the insurance told me the dental office put in the wrong codes. They said they would pay the bill but it has to be entered correctly for them to honor the payment. Mind you, this was something from 2022 and it is now 2024 and this is the first time I was hearing about it. Needless to say, I went in this morning when to see the dentist for, a crown in my hand. The first thing said to me was "Did you call your insurance?" I responded I did and proceeded to explain, that their office entered the wrong codes and did not provide an adequate explanation about the procedure. I told the girl I would be happy to sit with the billing person and call the insurance together to solve this today. I was informed I had to pay the balance first. I requested to speak with someone above her and she told me she was the office manager. I then asked to speak with the dentist and was told "She is busy. I'm the office manager." I stated fair enough and left with my crown still in my hand. At this point, why continue talking with ignorant people? I would love to say I showed them because I left without solving the "balance" but I am not that type of person. I will resolve the issue because it is the right thing but you better BELIEVE, they lost a good patient due to their utter ignorance, lack of patient care, and sheer greed when I offered to assist in solving the problem they created. I never looked at their reviews before today but after my experience, I can completely relate to the BAD reviews. I think the dentist may want to take a look at the practices of her staff. In the beginning was extremely pleased and rated 5 stars, but over the period of 5 years the customer service declined, especially Sleep Solutions. Began with Sleep Solutions center and Dr. Ochoa/staff were right on it. In fact we needed a new dentist and made a 1.5 hour trip (each way) for dental and oral sleep appliance. There always seemed to be a problem at our 6-month check ups that involved $$$$ of dental work. I'm sure we were snookered on a few things ... the state of the art equipment etc is very costly. I use to be a big fan of Precision Dental. I have referred several people to them as well but this last couple weeks took the cake. Dr Ochoa does great work. However, her office staff (not hygienists) and the practice itself is not worth it. We have spent thousands of dollars over the years in dental work and in September dropped more money on a crown and some other fillings. We were told what insurance would cover (a percentage) and how much we would pay out of pocket. We paid our portion had the work done (the crown had to be remade twice and the temp kept falling off). A week before Christmas I get a call saying we owe $1100+ dollars insurance won't pay for the crown. The insurance company stated due to the clinical notes and the xrays a dentist from the insurance company reviewed it and a crown was not necessary a filling should have been done instead. So now we got ripped off with the work but we also got ripped off for the cost of everything. I asked for my husbands records so I could dispute with the insurance company and they refused to give it to me. This isn't the first time finances got screwed up with them and now they want to send us to collections instead of allowing me to dispute with the insurance to cover it. read more

I I came in for a simple procedure and when I received the bill, I was charged for services I never asked for or were never performed. When I contacted Precision Dental, they were rude and dismissive. This is an extremely shady practice and business attempting to extort as much money as possible from their patients and insurance companies. I highly recommend choosing a more reputable business. I have dentistry anxiety like many people but I just figure I have to soldier up and endure the pain. I was prepared for a bucket load of pain after my initial consultation because I neglected my teeth too long and needed quite a bit of work. My first impression was very relaxing in the waiting room. It felt like a cozy parlor. I noticed the "May all be blessed here" or something close to that. As a strong Christian believer, I appreciated that. The staff treated me like a celebrity but in a real personable, genuine manner. Dr. Mack and Dr. Ochoa are top notch. I have some nasal and breathing issues and they utilized some holistic inhalers that helped me through one of the procedures and frankly may have saved my life by catching an extremely high blood pressure condition that I was not aware. They are very focused on your health condition and comfort. I have NEVER experienced any pain during any of the procedures. In fact I have practically taken naps during some of them . I have seen some previous reviews complaining about billing and insurance issues. There is no question that some procedures can be costly and our insurance is pathetic but Dr. Ochoa's office has been very patient and open to working with us to find a plan that works. I drive a great distance to go to this practice. In today's world when you find good people with great service you go to great lengths to keep returning. Very unethical sales/billing practices. This is the only dentist I have been to that can never seem to give an accurate estimate of costs. I was told I needed extra cleanings and even an oral surgery that I learned later were all unnecessary. If a dental office has to regularly take you back to a special room to discuss costs and down payments, and make you sign "contracts" just to schedule an appointment, you should be wary. They have a "C" rating from the BBB for these types of practices. read more

I'm thoroughly impressed with this office and their staff! The place is not only clean, but very cozy. Decor makes you feel warm and at home. They use state of the art equipment and are up front with the estimated cost of your treatment plan. Staff is very courteous and goes above and beyond to ensure you don't have a bad dental experience. Having not been to the dentist in 2-3 years, I was anxious how my visit would go. I have had extensive oral surgery when I was a teen. I had extra sets of teeth after my perment teeth had come in. Hours if surgery and braces to get things aligned for 4 years takes a mental toll. Dr. Stacy and her staff always make me feel relaxed and comfirtable. Dr. Stacy always practices the least invasive procedures to keep all the tooth she can. The past few years she has recommended a procedure that in the past I would have considered a vanity procedure. I have peg lateral incisors ( or what I called my vampire teeth ). My front teeth were healthy and had no cavities. The issue was over the years my other teeth, due to my bite had growned down my front teeth. They were very thin and had the potential to be very fragile. One tooth already had a chip in it and was only going to get worse. This year I decided to take the advise of Dr. Stacy and get this fixed. I had moved from a vanity thing to a " keep my front teeth in my mouth " Let me just say WOW!! I am so impressed with the work they have done. I currently have just my temporary in till the crowns get built and man what a difference. Now this was not cheap. And all the negative reviews I see are all about billing. Dental work is expensive and I have the max coverage for dental through my work. If you read your coverage you would be shocked at what is sonetimes not covered. I have found that if you the patent take some proactive steps and talk to your provider and the staff at Presicion, there should be not be suprised. Every time I have tried to have a get insurance to cover they ( the insurace companies ) have some sub section that says they do not cover something. It is not PD's fault that insurance providers suck. They just do..any chance they get not to pay a claim they will do it. I recommend if your worried about prices make sure you talk to your Inurance Provider. I have been going their for years. If you have anxiety about going to the dentist ask for them for the Alpha Stem device. It is free and part of a good treatment in my opinion. Hell even if they charged me a few bucks for it I would pay for it non the less. Thank you Dr. Stacy and all your staff there for my newly improved front teeth. See my previous review. I LOVED Precision Dental Care. LOVED. Preached to everyone I knew about how I had been converted to the world of dentist lovers. I drove thirty minutes from my house cause I thought the dentist was so great. But the customer service workers have really gone down hill. At my last appt,I had a cleaning done. After my cleaning was given a sales pitch for their dental program. Uh, no thanks. It was annoying but whatevs I was still "Yay! Dr. Stacy." Then six to seven months after my appointment, when I cancelled a follow up appointment I got a bill for the cleaning. I thought it was a mistake. The next month I got another bill that said that since my insurance changed I needed a change in coverage letter. Ok, called the office they said they will take care of it. The next month I get another bill. They tell me that because of HIPAA they cant get the letter and I have to. Ok. I get it and send the letter. I email them to tell them to be expecting the letter. Another bill . My husband goes in totalk to them personally and to make an appointment. They give him kind of the run around for walking in to make a future appointment instead of calling on the phone. They tell him he owes them for my bill. He explains the whole situation and waits for over a half hour to learn that they just scan the letter and didn't send it to the insurance company so he sits there while they now decide to send the letter. He walks out. Another month, another bill. FOR MONTHS-EVERY MONTH-ANOTHER BILL-ANOTHER CONVERSATION- ANOTHER FAILURE. Stay away. Clearly with all the advertising, the practice has lost its way and the focus is no longer on the consumer but the bottom line. read more

Today was my first appointment with Precision Dental Care and every single employee I came in contact with was welcoming and kind. Both the oral hygienist and dentist review everything with you, including your x-rays (which my last dentist never did). By the time I left all of my anxiety was completely gone. when I 1st started going to Precision Dental care I thought it was great, the candles, the water etc. the atmosphere was nice. But as time went on I realized they could care less about the customer. Only about the almighty dollar. When I received a price for 2 bridges to go over my implants I was quoted $12,800.00 . Went to different Dentist for 2nd quote, he was $8,500.So I asked Dr. Ochoa's front desk for a discount and was told my insurance is my discount. Then went to Dr. Ochoa directly, She said she is the same price as everyone else in Imperial. I don't care what they say they are much higher in price then other very good dentist. Kim is very unprofessional. She has no interpersonal skills. She just spoke to my boss, who has clinical OCD and an anxiety disorder, and told my boss she has a hibitual problem. One that was uncalled for and unprofessional and two that's none of her business. If the Doctor blocks out time for an individual to have work done, and someone calls to say they are running behind. Don't give there spot up. Explain to the customer we won't be able to do the work but the doctor will be able to see you to help manage the pain. They didn't even work with my boss, they just said someone else is in the chair and my boss would have to go to another dental institution to see someone else. Who says that to a paying customer???? Dr Ochoa does fantastic work, she does her job well, don't get me wrong, but her staff is unprofessional and rude. If you want good work done, then ask to speak Dr Ochoa directly. Do not speak with any other member of staff. Obviously they want to make there patients feel unwelcome and disrespected. The stars are not directed to the work Dr Ochoa does. Shame on you Precision Dental Care and Stacey Ochoa in Imperial... I went in to your office. Provided you my insurance card ahead of time and had you advise me on the amount I would be responsible to pay. You came back after advising me you checked with my insurance company and told me my procedure would be $792 total. I specifically told you I was going through a divorce and had to be cautious of my budget but I could afford that. Procedure was problematic as the original replacement tooth was not made properly and my replacement was delayed an additional two weeks. After waiting for the two weeks, a new replacement was put in. In the meantime, I got a bill in the mail from them for $7xx after I had already paid them the $792 first time in full. I went in immediately to advise them of their error. They originally said, it must be a problem with the insurance and they would take care of it. I went back in today for a cleaning and asked them if they had gotten it taken care of. They said, you will need to pay the additional $7xx and that I have crappy dental insurance. THEN THEY OFFERED TO SELL ME THEIR INSURANCE PLAN. I asked them why they didn't tell me this BEFORE the procedure. They said what they do is an estimate and usually they are much closer. So.... Should I be this upset or am I over reacting?? This might go down as one of the worst dental offices. This started out as a routine cracked tooth repair. What started out as a "nice service" where they offered to check into insurance coverage, turned out into a horrible experience. From the lack of professionalism about promised insurance coverage that was "verified". (Even after they confirmed it "was covered", it turns out it wasn't actually covered and I wasn't informed until the bill arrived in the mail.) I was taken into an office, asked to provide my insurance card. After the nice lady made some phone calls and looked up some things in her computer, she advised me it was going to be covered. Then had me sign something that looked like a bill, showing the rate that they advised it was going to cost, later I find out that she glossed over a part of the "contract" that says IF they are wrong about the insurance, then it is my responsibility to pay. My concern is if they are going to have this service, then they should have it in BIG BOLD letters, that you could be stuck with the full bill, not some 8pt type at the bottom of the page, especially directly AFTER the "insurance specialist" checked it out. After quite a bit of back and forth and posturing, the office finally agreed to give me their "cash payers" rate. I was upset at the whole process of checking the insurance as it gave me a misbelief of confidence that they had checked into things for me and given me the correct info. BUT ALAS, I will take some responsibility here for not reading that SMALL PRINT. Now on to the BOTCHED repair job... First, I got the feeling that the Dr. had a newly hired person working on shaving down the original tooth. I cannot confirm this, but the nice young lady kept needing to get others to come in to assist her in the process and eventually gave way to another girl to finish. When they made the temporary crown (while the permanent one was on order), they apparently didn't get the fitting correct as it kept coming out. After two visits to re-glue the temp on, they ended up giving me a packet of glue and directions to "Self repair" if I had the problem again. When I arrived in for the first apt to put the "permanent" crown, the tooth that they ordered did not fit. After about an hour of them trying to force it on and getting multiple techs to "look" at it, they decided that they needed to make another mold and re-order. I was back on the streets with my poorly fit temp. After about 3 weeks, the new permanent tooth arrived and I came back in for my replacement. Nothing exciting with this appointment, they seemed to get the tooth on and I was out of the office within a short period of time. Fast forward, the "Permanent" tooth has come out a few times and I have gone back in for help. They offered to "re-glue" it back on, to the tune of another $120 (I didn't even bother to ask if it was covered by insurance). To my dismay, I set up an appointment to get it re-glued for the following week. Later that day, I received a phone call from the office, advising me that the Dentist no longer wanted to work on my tooth and I would have to see another dentist if the tooth had any further problems. I have not explored my legal remedies, but I will update if I can get any relief from what I would consider one of the worst dental experiences of my life. read more

Like some of the reviewers, I was impressed with the staff and Dr. Ochoa when I first started going to them. That is no longer the case - I actually would give them a negative star rating. Among other issues, I have been trying to get a $400+ refund for over four months now for the overpayment on my account from over two years ago. I have written letters and called six times - no one will respond or return any of my calls. They told me last October they were mailing my refund and I have never received it. When I call (weekly) they say they will look into it and call me back - but never do. They have provided inconsistent and inaccurate information over and over (also known as lies), and have never once returned a phone call as promised. I agree with the other yelp reviewer who mentioned "rude, dismissive and shady." They put on a good first show, but customer service is non-existent at Precision Dental. read more

I was referred to this dentist by a friend. First appointment I made was for a cleaning for myself and my 2 children. 2 hours later, I had $858.00 worth of digital x-rays for all 3 of us. Once the x-rays are done they take us into see the finance department. I found this woman to be extremely rude and argumentative. I am told that we need a combined total of $10,000.00 worth of work. I made additional appointments for the teeth cleaning and fillings. When we went back to have the work done, I was surprised that my son was not getting his teeth cleaned but that they were filling his teeth. I am not a dentist but did not understand why his teeth were filled before they were cleaned (fillings cost more than cleanings). After my appointment to have my teeth cleaned, I was again brought to the finance woman who told me that I needed to sign a form refusing treatment. The treatment was for crowns and a bridge that I did not need at that time. She told me that I had to sign the form so that when the teeth became a problem that it would be my fault and not theirs. Kicker is that I went to a different dentist and they found that I had a cavity that Dr. Ochoa did not even mention. Again, bridge and crowns cost more. I left this dentist feeling that my money was more important than my teeth or my family. read more
