If there is a mess up (in my case, we had an incident with a root canal gone bad), he was quick to get me in, fix the problem and he actually took accountability for it.

After reading other reviews that all indicated how quick and relatively pain free this procedure was at Sage Endododontics, and reminding myself I've had two total knee replacements, with months of pain, I assured myself that this wasn't going to be too bad. I was still nervous about it. I shouldn't have been. From the time I called for an appointment to the actual root canal, everything went smoothly. The staff couldn't have been nicer, or the process easier. When I called for the appointment I was told since I had no dental insurance that the cost would be $1700 and that was all inclusive. I arrived early, and was told that the person scheduled before me never showed up, so I was taken earlier than my appointment time. First, they took some x-rays in the chair, and then led me to an adjacent room where they took 360 degree x-rays. I returned to the chair and the assistant put the x-rays on a small illuminated viewer for Dr. Corretjer to review. (They referred to her by her middle name, Dr. Garcia). She came in a few minutes later and looked at the x-rays and asked me if I had any questions. I only had one, "How long will the procedure take?" She said, "About 20 minutes." Amazing! I was offered a blanket, which I accepted, as well as watching Netflix or the HG channel while the procedure was done. I decided just to close my eyes and try to relax while it happened. I was told by the assistant that if I felt any pain to raise my hand, and if I needed them to suction any excess salava to raise my index finger. During the root canal I didn't have either of those things happen. They put what looked like dark sunglasses over my regular glasses and then Dr. Garcia applied some numbing gel to my gums. Then she injected the local anesthetic in 3 spots around the affected tooth. Even the injections were about half the pain I remembered having when I had a crown installed years ago. My root canal only took 20 minutes as predicted by Dr. Garcia. Other than the numbing injections, it was completely painless. When it was done, they took a few more x-rays in the chair, and that was that. I was given a sheet of post operative instructions, and told I could return in a year for a complimentary follow-up exam. I was directed to contact my dentist to have a permanent filling put in within 2-4 weeks. If you need a root canal I highly recommend Sage Endodontics as the place to have it done. I had a five star experience there.

Had insurance and forms completed, only to be informed that because my spouse didn't answer the phone two hours prior when they called, they cancelled the apt. Of course, they offered to take my money anyway and have the dentist visit with me, but refused to do the root canal. EDIT: Once the doctor was told I left a bad review, he phoned to dispute it. He told me how it was my fault that we missed the call, and that, if I had only stayed in the office until the end of the day instead of leaving when they cancelled my procedure (apt was at 1pm) maybe there would have been time to accommodate me. This place is the epitome of the blame game. The only type of apology I got was that it was my birthday and that I was upset on it. I was so stunned at the lack of concern and the amount of blame, I just told him I had an apt elsewhere and got off the phone. Avoid this place at all cost. Otherwise, come with lots of money and be prepared to bribe your way in. I reiterate--WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. When speaking to Dr P and reading his reply, it becomes clear that his only concern is to deny any fault--despite being the sole party at fault. The fact of the matter is that I made this appointment because I needed a root canal and already had a temporary crown on the tooth. It was time sensitive. I made the apt because I needed the root canal done. It is completely inappropriate for him to cancel my apt (he said he reduced the time block, but the apt was to do a root canal, not to talk about it and reschedule) because someone else called and wanted to be seen. Their apt may have been an emergency apt due to pain, but so was mine! I couldn't chew on that side at all. The secretary was completely unapologetic as she offered to charge me to talk to the doctor and the again to reschedule and have the work done at a later time. NOBODY DOES THIS! NO OFFICE CANCELS AN APT TO PERFORM A ROOT CANAL BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE WANTS N APT. I made the apt! I came in on time! I should have been his only concern at that time slot because it was booked for me! Dr. Palmer is nothing more than greedy business happy to screw over orients in order to squeeze more money out of them. If this other person was so important to you, Dr Palmer, you should have stayed late and kept your office open for them instead of CANCELLING the apt to perform my root canal. And "I'm sorry you were upset on your birthday" isn't an apology for screwing me over by giving my apt to Someone else! Did you call to confirm your emergency person's apt? Or did you just trust them to show up? Because as I have said time after time, I made an apt for a root canal to be performed--not to be examined. Your office screwed someone over and you earned a bad review. Instead of once again making excuses and trying to come off as a straight up dental office instead of a fly-by-night scam that stays in business by screwing over people in need of services, maybe you should actually take responsibility for your really shady practices, learn customer service skills, and keep your obligations! My review is not only accurate, but it's completely valid. Maybe you'll think about your declining image next time before you decide to "adjust" someone's time block.

I had 2 insurances and one of the insurances was going to end at the end of November. I had one root canal that needed to be redone and I wanted to make sure that I completed this before one of the insurances canceled. They should have been able to submit to both insurances and my payment would have been minimal. I had another root canal that also had to be redone right after this one and I knew that I would receive bill for the 2nd one in full. The day I walked out at the end of November, I asked specifically to the Dr. Maher and the receptionist (for billing purposes) that they had completed the first redo of the root canal in it's entirety and they both said YES, then I asked do you need anything more from me and they said NO. A few days into December I came in for the 2nd one to have redone. I received a bill 3 months later stating that nothing had been submitted in November due to the first redo was not done until December. I called them and stated that I asked Dr. Maher personally that he had everything done and needed to finish billing the insurance in November and said that he agreed. The billing person stated that the tooth was not done until December (they can't bill until the tooth is completed). I was devastated after asking personally about this and receiving over a $1000 bill for something that I should have only received about half. I could not believe it! Make sure you get anything in writing from them, as a conversation meant nothing.
