I've been driving by this place for years. Replaced the engine in my 2009 vehicle with a new one from Jasper Engines & Transmission at a shop up in the valley and really didn't want to go that far for service again. Their big Jasper sign out front caught my eye so I called and scheduled the first oil change with them on the new engine. Pricing seems good. It's about what is expect. They aren't pushy with services but do make you aware of things. At first oil change, they mentioned the brake fluid may need to be serviced soon. A few months pass and brake light came on. I assumed low on fluid. It had been 3-4 years since a brake fluid service so seemed like a good time to do one. They also arranged for the vehicle to be aligned and wheels balanced for me (I asked if they could). They don't currently have their own alignment rack but they were willing to find a shop and take it there for me. They also have a lot of connections with other shops in the area so if you need exhaust work or something, they have very good recommendations. A lot of words to say, Ive found my new "go-to" shop. It's near our neighborhood so it's an easy a nice walk to get here too. read more

I have been taking my 2005 Subaru Outback to Precision since I drove it cross-country to move here 5 years ago. I purchased an interstate battery for my 911 Carrera a year ago from PA. I had to replace the battery due to it going dead and not being able to hold a charge. Jeff the owner replaced the battery since it was under warranty and told me that I had to drive the car more since it had only 1,000 more miles from the time that I had originally purchased it. This place ripped me off big time. I came in and told the man I had a bent radiator frame, which made it so the AC wouldn't blow cold air. That's what my last mechanic told me when he did my alignment. This place then did an "inspection" that they charged me $123 for, only to then say that they couldn't fix the problem and I'd need to go to a body shop. They just told me that my radiator was bent, which I, um, already knew. I called them and asked for a refund for the wasteful inspection, but they said no deal. I promised them a bad Yelp review in return, so here it is! And an angry Instagram post will shortly follow. I am still reasonable; if I get my refund, I will delete this review and any subsequent social media posts. The ball's in your court now, Precision... Awesome people. I needed my complex license plate with backup camera replaced, however couldn't remove it due to not having proper equipment. Turns out, the plate could only be removed from behind the bumper and car needed to be jacked up. The men here, removed my license plate and put on my new one. This place charges $135.00 to diagnose a problem that is given to them. The AC was blowing hot air ,pretty straight forward!! They wanted to charge me almost $1,400 to replace the compressor and dryer. These parts cost me or anyone to buy $400.00. They mark up their parts 150%. Stay away! Also they don't put the 135.00 towards the cost if you have them do the work. Unheard of!! Bad business!! read more

I took my 73 convertible Big Block corvette to get some repairs done. This place is awesome. They treated my collectible vette like their own. Gave me updates as the parts I order arrived. Rick the mechanic who does all the classics and hot rods is very knowledgable and gets into discussing options and details about your car if you are interested. Caesar up front is wonderful at customer service and always kept me in the loop. It was a great experience. I've been here a few times and they have always been great, very honest and affordable. I had a problem with my car and AAA told me that it was not the battery but something else. They even showed me on their monitor that my battery was fine. So I towed my car to precision Automotive and was told that they could not even look at the car until they replaced my battery for over $200 and that was with a AAA discount. First of all any battery replacement I've had before has been well under 150 and second of all, my battery was absolutely fine. Just as AAA told me. I know this because I brought it to my husband's honest mechanic who ran the same test as AAA did and showed me my battery was fine. FYI I've been driving on that battery now. So it is indeed fine.So even though I've used precision Automotive in the past, I will never use them again and have chosen to write this to warn others, to save themselves hundreds just like I did. read more

We began taking our two cars to Precision Automotive several years ago, mainly because it is conveniently located within walking distance, and we've always liked their work. They are friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Yesterday, they distinguished themselves as masters of customer service, assuring my business forever. My tire went flat just as I was pulling into the driveway. My husband was traveling and wouldn't return for two days. I never learned how to change a tire and we don't have emergency road service, so I was in a real jam. I called Precision Auto and explained my problem to Cesar. I told him I was only a block away and asked if someone could come over to put the spare on for me. It was 5 p.m. and the shop closes at 5:30, but Cesar said he would send help. Ten minutes later Rick was at my door. It was after 5:30 when the spare was on, but they kept the shop open so I could bring in the car. The tire was punctured but was also worn, so I needed a new one. They kept the rim, sent me home with the spare on, and ordered a new tire the next morning. By 2 p.m. the next day, my car was good to go. When a business goes the extra mile like Precision Auto did, it's worth sharing the news. Thanks Cesar and Rick! I want Readers to understand that even tho' this place can do some things seemingly correct based on the Review...Reviews need to be read....then go with your gut. Now we are returning here, for the 3rd New Radiator in 2 months because they can't get it RIGHT...the first time or the 2nd....I am writing this review for my Mother as she is now with me for Thanksgiving out of town. Precision Automotive put in a New Radiator in her Cadillac Sept 22, 2016. Then there was a problem, so she went back, and another New Radiator had to be put in. Now she is out of town with this leaking AGAIN. I take her Cadillac to my Mechanic and learn that She needs a New Radiator....My Mechanic said for him to put in the new radiator the cost would be $520.00...Mom yelled I paid $962.00 for the Radiator they put in at Precision Automotive. OK I then called Precision Automotive asked to speak to the Manager, Cesar said He is the Manager. I explained what has happened, in detail, and the costs here to replace the Radiator. Of Course the work Precision did is under warranty and to bring the car back so they can check it. I asked him "How many Radiators do you have to put in to get it Right, and that I was very concerned about my Mom's Safety". Of course, He said they didn't want to have to keep re doing work that was already done, as that costs them as well. OK I get that, but again I asked him How many Radiators will it take to get done Right? He said he would now put in a different Brand of Radiator, and hopefully that will solve this. LOL At this point He told me the costs Mom Paid was because He put in a New Water Pump with the Radiator. Well, that is a LIE...No New Water Pump was installed. However, a New water pump Belt, and Pulley was installed. I am guessing that is the about $450.00 difference in cost comparing that to the costs here. My Brother did look at her car, and I asked him, about the Water Pump...NO NEW Water Pump on the Car. Well, now what do we do...?? Trust this place again to Under Warranty put in Radiator #3...and hope it works this time and that the Mechanics there actually KNOW how to carefully tighten those delicate threads that seem to be where the leaking is coming from...the Transmission Cooling Line...has to be gently screwed in...NOT strong-armed, or cross threaded. I have family with knowledge about these things, just not close to Redondo Beach. Now because of the Warranty,and no money tree, we have little choice but to return to this place. Gosh I hope it goes right this time. The Trust is gone. Beware. EDIT: We just picked up Mom's Car from my Mechanic. AND YES a New Water Pump Assembly had been installed, with the Pulley Assembly. So we were NOT Lied to about that. I want to keep this as Honest as Possible. Another EDIT: Jan 21, 2017 ...Mom seems to finally have a Radiator that is working fine. Answered all my questions and did not have any issue with using the parts I supplied. Chet was also a big help. Theresa answered my emails which was helpful. I saw all these rave reviews and thats why I ended up towing my car to this shop because I am picky about who works on my cars.My car did not wanna start and going over the symptoms I realized that should be the fuel pump. By the way I know cars currently doing other things so thats why decided to get it repaired by someone else not doing it myself. AAA recommended this shop I checked the reviews and was ready to have good experience. What happened was completely opposite.First of all they promised but never called me to inform whats going on with the car.Second the car sat 3 days till someone eventually confirmed my diagnostic that fuel pump needs to be replaced which takes 15 min to change they wanted to charge me according to their program 1.5 hours.Their estimate was for around 1200$ when the parts cost was 200$ and at most 1 hour labour. I was reffered to Precision Auto by AAA. I needed to take a smog test to register my car but did not pass because it was an older car and needed a new O2 sensor. Chad or Chet who works there could not clearly explain what an O2 sensor was. And was really rude. So immediately I was confused and then I was also concerned because he told me that it would be almost $300 to fix. Long story short I bought the part I needed at Pep Boys and took it to Hiro Auto in torrance.I saved almost $200 by TAKING MY CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE. I've been coming here for around 6 years I think. At first it was just for oil changes as my main mechanic was in Temecula. after 2 cars and a lot of money spent with that other guy who was supposedly very reputable and even on an episode of one of those reality shows where they 'steal' a car then revamp it and give it back...anyways I was told by everyone 'in the know' that this place charges too much so I never actually had them do more than just an oil change. At one point I was screwed when my car broke down and had the money and just paid their cost...I'll tell you it was the FIRST time ever I went into ANY shop with a problem and my car came out the other end good as new! no problems, no sudden noises the next day...non of that! I've had them do some work on my car now the past year maybe 2yrs and so far no complaint...I'd rather pay more and be happy than pay less and have have to keep going back again and again. Went here because I needed to get my car Smog Checked at a STAR facility. I called before hand to see how long it would take and if they could see me right away. The lady on the phone was very nice and answered all of my questions. The location was easy to find. I walked in and was helped right away with getting the paperwork all taken care of and a quote. The smog check price is comparable to other places I've been to. I had to wait a bit until they could fit me in, which they informed me of when I called. Quick and easy.
