I have had nothing but great work and customer service when coming here. I have visited on 3 different occasions and felt that the team thoroughly looked over my vehicle and provided top-notch work. As someone who doesn't know anything about cars, I asked that they do a full look over my car for any issues. In addition to the oil change I came for, they only suggested a tire rotation, which my dad did say was needed. I sat in the office while they worked on my vehicle. For starters how crazy does it sound to tell my family members & friends I went to this car repair shop leaving with a total $2,300 worth of repairs including 3 diagnostics, taking it back 2 days later for the same issue and now getting it back and the same issue happens again. Never in my life of owning over 10 cars have I ever had this happen. This was a huge learning lesson. For anyone interested my advice would be just pay your dealership for a full 1 time diagnostic then get your repairs done. This was a local repair shop and my first visit was not a great experience as well I had another vehicle I was interested in getting checked why take my vehicle back if they can't resolve the issue and then my car is held and I have no transportation again. read more

My name is Tammy . I called Precision Auto on Thursday inquiring about getting an oil change in my Volkswagen Wagon And also a diagnosis for a check engine on the following day . I can say from the moment the person answered the phone the experience was incredible. They were super accommodating and scheduled me for the next day at 10:30am . I was actually in the neighborhood an hour early and even though they were busy they acted as if I was the only customer there . They immediately took my keys pulled my vehicle in and got it started . It was finished in what seemed like no time . When I went in to pay the bill we discussed what was found in the diag and I would have to say you could not find a more honest mechanic shop . I wasn't pressured into fix it now and was even told that my vehicle was very drivable . I was so happy into so happy with the service , honesty and the price was a great value . I had called a few other places however when speaking to the person initially what impressed me the most is I was NOT a regular customer it was going to be a first time customer,before my car was even taken there they thanked me for the opportunity to service my vehicle . If you are thinking of taking your car to Precision... DONT... I have taken many cars to the old precision for almost 30 years and have always been very satisfied with their work and price. Over the past few years the new owners have lost my 2 adult children's business, and as of today, mine as well. My youngest took his Accord there to replace his plugs and was charged over $500. He called around and the same work at other local shops was at least $250 cheaper. He found a new mechanic... My oldest son went in and was treated very poorly and made to feel that he was an idiot. He took his business to a new mechanic who treats him with respect. After 3 years he is very happy he left Precision. As of today they have lost my business as well... I dropped off my Honda Civic to be repaired on Tuesday. I told them that the brake pad sensor fell out but that the AAA guy taped it back in when he replaced the battery 3 months earlier. I also told them I heard a whine and I think I need a belt. I was not expecting to hear from them that day. Wednesday came and went and nothing. Thursday mid afternoon I decided to call and see what was up. I was told that the battery was holding a charge... I said I hope so it was a new battery and I didn't bring it in for the battery. I explained again why I brought it in. I was told that's not what he was told and said I don't know if I told him the wrong info or their guy made a mistake. I assured him I know why I brought it in and it was their mistake. I was called Friday and told the car was ready. The owner said the sensor was fine and only needed a prong to put it in. They replaced a belt as well. When I got there I was told it was $322... Are you kidding me. When I told them I was not happy with the service or the price the owner said yes prices have gone up. The owner from what I understand never owned an auto repair shop and his customer service is condescending at best. I told the after 27 years of great service you have lost my business... Do yourself a favor and read the latest reviews for yourself and RUN AWAY. They have taken a great and trusted repair shop and lost my families as well as others business. read more

The positive reviews here mention Merrill and Randy (M & R). They are gone and there are new owners. For over 10 years every time I got an oil change at a local tire shop I would get a long list of things that "Needed" to be fixed and the exorbitant prices the shop would charge. I had found that M and R were scrupulously honest and told me what THEY thought were necessary and ALWAYS charged less than what the tire shop estimated. It got to where I didn't even bother to call other shops for estimates. Last week I took my truck to the new owners for a new starter. I knew it only required removing a couple of wires and a couple of bolts to put the new one in since I have changed them in the past before I turned 80. When I picked it up the charge was $578.07!!! For comparison I called the tire shop and they told me it would cost $343.49 including all parts and labor. I got a couple of other prices from other shops as well $399.84 and $456.00. All the reputation that M & R had built has gone down the drain with the new owners in my humble opinion. read more

I took my 2006 chrysler 300 in for I was having ac problems plus other things too. I was so pleased with the friendness of everyone there. My car needed way to much done so didn't get any thing fix. But they called Uber to take me home. And explain everything wrong. They made sure all my fluids were filled and they found a nail in one of my tires. We took one of our company vehicles here to be repaired. To start, they incorrectly diagnosed the problem. Not a huge deal, mistakes happen but we paid for this mistake and they were unwilling to reimburse or work with us at all on $. After realizing nothing was fixed we took it back and they held the truck for nearly 2 months, claiming they were waiting on a part. When it finally came in and we picked it up the truck was still giving us issues. We took it to another mechanic who found the pump that Precision installed was broken. He swapped it with a good one, we brought the broken pump back to Precision and they were unwilling to reimburse for anything. They seemed like a solid place based on their reviews, but unfortunately we had a horrible experience here. It would have made all the difference if they would have just owned up to their mistake and were honest about it. Instead they lied and charged us over 3k to leave us with a broken truck. read more

As a woman dealing with auto problems I am at the mercy of whatever someone tells me. I took my car to my dealer for a maintenance check before a road trip, I was told I needed a brake job. After discussing with my son he said he really didn't think I needed brakes again so soon. I took my car to Precision and they put it on the rack, pulled the wheels and told me I did not need brakes--that was one year ago. There is still no sign of needing brakes yet. Yesterday I took my car to Precision for a headlight replacement, they took me in immediately, had me in an out in less than an hour, only charged me for the price of the headlight (214.00 - it is a high intensity light). Five weeks ago my dealer replaced my other headlight for $642.00. These men are above all HONEST, but also courteous and professional. I cannot believe that this place gets so many good reviews. I was looking for a new automotive shop to work on my two autos. Thought I would give these guys a try. I thought I would let them start with something easy, a coolant system flush. They gave me an estimate and I agreed. As I was leaving I told him as long as they're flushing the system to install a new thermostat. I knew I would pay a bit of a premium for them to do it as it is a very simple five minute procedure for a 15.00 part. Shame on me for not getting an estimate. They tacked on a $187.00 charge to replace the thermostat!! So, take your car here if you want to, but you better make sure you get everything in writing or they will rip you off. They really screwed themselves as I had another car to work on plus my buddy wanted to know if they were any good he and he has two cars. My neighbor also wanted to know if there were any good and he has three cars. They lost six vehicles to work on because they ripped off this senior citizen. On the one hand the owner will tell you about his Christian ministry and on the other hand he will pick your pocket. read more

I requested a tune up on my Toyota Corolla. I also requested that Freon replaced in my air conditioner. I was previously informed what I needed as far as the air conditioner. I was informed the Freon was $50 per pound. I was charged $340 after looking at the receipt I saw that they did a diagnostic testing on my air conditioner without my consent knowing that if I got just under a pound of freon it would cost less than the diagnostic testing. I never authorized a surprise diagnostic testing. I am so accustomed to the former owners their practices were very open and honest no deceit was found. My air conditioner still does not work.I took it back to the shop the owner informed me that they did nothing to the air conditioner as I requested. read more

I've had a very brief experience with this shop, but I have to mention that it's one of the greatest shops I've ever been to. After dealing with dealerships and dishonesty, it's refreshing to come to a garage where they tell you exactly what's wrong (or what's not wrong) and they don't give you a run-around. My mother-in-law's car was overheating, and in my limited mechanical experience, I checked it over the best I could, and eventually replaced the thermostat. I know the coolant was a mix of red coolant, green coolant, water, and rust. I wanted to bring it in to get the coolant flushed and have them check it over. Randy was great, he told me straight up, if I've already replaced the thermostat, I could flush the coolant easily (which I don't mind) and it would cost a lot less. Plus, they couldn't really do anything there that I couldn't just do at home. Finally, he says, "if it's not overheating anymore, there's not much else to do". He recommended I drive it a bit more, watch the fluid levels, and if it runs fine, do the flush myself and save $$$. Clean shop, great employees, and a comfortable experience. Their receptionist was Very rude and talked down to me, tried to tell me what he "thought" he knew about my car(he's not even a mechanic) he even told me that my warranty wasn't worth paying for! I literally had to tell him the words "I'm paying for it so I'll be the judge of that." for him to adjust his demeanor. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere, and got a second opinion. When I had one shop tell me it was going to cost $1600 to fix my A/C I chose to ride around during the summer with nothing but hot air figuring my 99' Durango ought better to be drove into the ground and use the $1600 as a down payment on a new vehicle. Well this was 5 years ago and I still drive that Durango. Precision has helped me save bookoo bucks off their competitors. To fix the evaporator, get an oil change, transmission fluid etc. it only ran me around $600. So they saved me a quick $1000 right there. Another example is a recent one. My PCM went bad, the truck is more than ten years old and they had the truck for five days to figure out what was wrong with it. Unfortunately they had no luck and replaced one part, crank shaft, at cost for $75. I took it to the dealership and to replace the PCM and shocks I was told it would cost close to two grand. Precision was cheaper than 50% for my shocks. At days end I always recommend them, take a few business cards whenever I go in, and my girlfriend prefers to take her car their for her repair needs and has been happy about it. Mr. M., local retired Hotel Executive recommended that my son try this shop for help with his 1959 Cadillac restoration project. He took the drive shaft there and the folks at Precision were able to disassemble the drive shaft so he could send the bracket out to be vulcanized. Have been using Precision for nearly ten years. I've never been unhappy with their work. They're not only extremely honest and knowledgeable, but by far the most inexpensive shop around. Great neighborhood atmosphere with friendly mechanics, that often throw in some little free-bees, to the office manager, Randy. He's always keeping you informed of your autos progress and promptly calls when they're finished. No waiting till the end of the day like some. I've seen sheriff and FHP cruisers having work done on a few occasions, which surprised me and affirmed my confidence in their safety competence. I have used this shop since March of 2008 for repairs to my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup. They are an honest shop and won't fix what is not broken. I am a female and lots of women get taken advantage of in auto shops. This one will not take advantage of you. Are they el cheapo? No. You will pay for parts plus labor. If you need a repair to your vehicle you will need to drop it off at the shop and they will take a look at it, call you with an estimate and ask you if you would like the repair done.
