Used a groupon for synthetic oil change. The online schedule system didn't work so I called and they made an appointment for me. When I showed up they took my car in almost immediately. Gal at the counter said, "yeah, it's buried in the fine print that most people miss." Might be a good idea to tell customers about the additional charge when they call for the appointment. read more

These guys are great. Very honest small business. I recently needed new tires and they helped me find a good deal. Yesterday I went it because I had a nail in my tire. They were flexible with timing and patched not one but TWO nails in one of the tires. When I went to pay it was free of charge. A little goes a long way. read more

I started going to Precise after getting a groupon for oil changes and was immediately impressed by how easy it was to schedule an appointment, how fast their service is, and how genuinely friendly everyone in the shop is. I showed up with a slow leak in my tire mid-day on a Saturday. Rick took a look, found the nail causing the leak and plugged it. I was there for maybe 10 minutes. When I asked what I owed him, he said, "don't worry about it -- just come back and see us again." I certainly will. read more

I went to this merchant because they were offering a traditional oil change for $3 less than my normal auto service center via Groupon, $17 rather then $20, so I thought I would give them a try. Anyway, as far as I know the oil change was carried out professionally, and the car was ready when it was supposed to be. However, when I went to get my receipt I was told that there would be an additional $8 fee, on top of the value of the Groupon. Making my total $25, $5 more then the going rate in my area for a oil change. Therefore, this merchant is using Groupon to charge customers more than the going rate for an oil change. I complained about the excess charge, and I was told there regular rate was $70 for a regular oil change. Therefore, I do not trust this Auto Service Center, and will not be going back again. read more

This shop has an "F" rating by the Better Business Bureau. Search BBB using the shop's phone number 301-949-5928. It had an "A+" rating under the former owner Leo Rusk, but the current owner Phil Pierce has some crooked employees and does not give a damn. Don't ever take your car here for a Maryland state inspection. They will find every little thing wrong with the car, hoping you will have them do the "repairs." I took a mint conditioned car to them once and ended spending $500 for "repairs." For example, they failed the serpentine belt that had superficial cracks, which was totally normal. Even the three major belt manufacturers' websites stated that superficial cracks were normal. And automotive expert Pat Goss says that superficial cracks are normal. By the way, Pat Goss used to praise the shop under Leo Rusk, but has no comment about the shop under the current ownership. read more

My repair went a lot more above the initial estimate and took several more days than initially agreed. The more troubling issue was that their price markup was very high--possibly over 200%. I know since I researched the costs of my parts. Also, the labor costs according to a contact of mine who is a mechanic was off...not to mention the Groupon oil change that had hidden fees (I don't even want to mention it). In sum, I came to dislike the way the place conducts business...I can get the service cheaper in nearby places. read more

Get you in there with a cheap oil change and you walk out with hundreds of dollars charged because they "just happen" to find 6 other majors things wrong with the car. I spoke with 4 other people in the waiting area who had the exact same thing happen to them. Impossible to find a trustworthy mechanic. Certainly do not trust them and won't return. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a series of oil changes here. I couldn't be happier. They were professional, kind, and super fast! I have never had an oil change done so fast! I'm talking 15 minutes the first time I went and about 20 the second time. I also overheard them giving some basic car maintenance tips on how to extend the life of your brakes to some other customers who were there for more serious issues. Who knew that you needed to use your parking brake periodically? Not me! I really feel like they're honest and caring and I won't take my car anywhere else now, even without a Groupon! read more

We've been going to Precise for our cars since 1999. We have a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid which we bought used in 2007. Phil checked out our car (the first one he checked out he didn't recommend) before we bought it, and said it was a good car. That was at 81,000 miles. Precise has maintained our Civic Hybrid since, and it now has well over 227,000 miles. And, thanks to the Precise crew's continued maintenance, it's still going strong. read more

Took my car in for an oil change and to assess for a possible leak in a tire. Was informed that my brakes and rotors needed replacing. When I asked if this was something that needed to be done today I was told that the parts had already been ordered. When I began driving my car after the service was completed, I realized that my car was not driving properly. My car comes with larger rear wheels than front wheels. They had placed the larger wheels in front and smaller wheels in back. They had left me with a car that, at best, I had difficulty driving, and at worst, was going to cause damage. Fantastic customer service. I came in for a new battery for my T-bird. Turned out that the first on they installed failed their tests and they sent for a replacement. When I told them I had to be at another location for business they gave me the keys to a vehicle and said the car would be ready when I returned. I started coming because of the Groupon oil changes. Dropped off vehicle on Mon for 120K mile check. Not ready until Fri due to all the additional work that was recommended (brakes/CV axel/Flushes). When I picked up the vehicle, NOT a single item for the 120K service was listed on the service slip nor am I confident that any of the work was done though the service writer Stephen assures me that at least part of maintenance was performed. He believes that the oil was changed but I cannot confirm. I marked the tires before dropping off vehicle--they were not rotated. The 120K check is suppose to include changing the spark plugs, Stephen subsequently assured me that this was definitely NOT done. Furthermore, I brought a different vehicle to shop last month and similarly marked tires before rotation. Though charged for the service, the tires were not rotated. Will, the service writer, explained that this was an oversight, apologized and rotated them while I watched. At best the place is dangerously mismanaged and incompetent; at worst they are corrupt. read more
