She had never touched grass until she was rescued by an active military soldier based in VA. When I searched for a Groomer I was so hesitant because of her traumas. When I walked into Puppy Palace the owner was so patient and took Suzie into her arms and was so loving towards her. I explained her history and I felt her compassion. Now, Suzie has had two groomings and she is so relaxed and not stressed when I drop her off. That shows that she was treated with gentleness and her painful past was not triggered. Now Suzie is a new puppy! At first her coat was a mess, and I was not clear on how her coat would grow out. She is blossoming like a flower. They said he did great and could board at the facility. After my dog was dropped off for boarding, they called within a couple hours and said he will possibly need to be picked up due to mounting. I have never seen him do this before and he plays with different dogs regularly... but he is a puppy... and I'm sure was very excited with so many dogs. They said that they were going to try a couple different strategies, but we would have to pick him up if it didn't work. One strategy included locking him in a room alone and unsupervised for 15-45 mins for a "time out." They called back the second time and said he had to get picked up. Their methods are not appropriate and neglectful to put kindly. I had to ask a friend, who has never watched my dog, to get him since I was not in town. He stayed the night with him and animals who he never met and had no issues. They definitely need to improve their procedures and the way they handle dogs.

So they still have her a bath, why wouldn't you call the owner and explain this and give the option to continue when it was already stressed why she was coming in? Set up is not good, as if a dog does get away from staff they can easily run out if someone opens the door into a very busy parking lot. Sorry but we cannot recommend.

It was our first visit but certainly won't be our last. From start to finish their team was very communicative and you can tell customer service is at the top of their priority list! My dog was nervous being in a new situation and environment but they were very patient with him. I was so happy to learn from his report card (which the manager went over with me when I picked him up) that he was already in great shape! They do a whole wellness check, checking his skin, coat, teeth, nails, etc. every visit. He smelled amazing and was so happy when I picked him up. The store was clean and well organized. They offer a monthly membership, with different levels depending on the services you need, but you can always drop in for a la carte services without a membership. I will be back!
