The true measure of a good business is not only the level of service they offer when things go…read morewell, but how they handle things in unfortunate situations. And for that reason, K9 Basics, Clif Wyck Farms Kennels and the owners Lisa & Brian, get the lowest possible rating. I signed up my 3 year old Pitbull, Iris, for their Board and Train program. The cost is $3,500. Iris was assessed and a 3 week training was recommended. I dropped her off on 2/14 and was tentatively scheduled to pick her up on 3/7. On the morning of 2/27 after being there for 14 days Iris got violently ill . She had diarrhea and began excessively vomiting. Lisa determined that Iris's condition couldn't wait for my emergency contact to get there and decided to take her to the vet. X-rays were taken and showed a foreign material in her stomach. I was told if this was still in her stomach by the morning that emergency surgery would need to be done. She was admitted overnight and given medication and IV fluid. The next morning the X-rays were taken again and the foreign material had moved from her stomach to her colon. The foreign material was no longer a threat and Iris was able to be released. As soon as I got her home from the vet she had a bowel movement which appeared to consist of either mulch, saw dust or some sort of grains or seeds. This same description was in her vet report as being in her vomit. I sent a picture of this to Lisa who I had been in constant communication with throughout. She called me and told me there was a 100% chance that Iris did not ingest this material while in her care and insisted that it happened prior to coming to training. Keep in mind this is day 14 of her being there. Now I understand this is a possibility but to say 100% is in my opinion ridiculous. My vet bill was $2,400 and I was also charged $350 to transport Iris from the kennel to the vet. Although I consider that transport charge excessive (profit from my misfortune), these charges were all clearly listed in the contract I signed. However I no longer felt comfortable bringing Iris back for the remainder of training. I respectfully asked for a refund for the last week that she would no longer be attending. Lisa responded by explaining they have only issued a refund once in the 14 years they have been in business and that was because a dog had to get their leg amputated due to their negligence. I asked her to please discuss with her partners and reconsider. Later that day I received a call from one of her employees telling me that Lisa and her husband would not be issuing me any refunds and my only option was to complete the remainder of training. I called Lisa immediately but she stopped accepting my phone calls. As for the training itself: I will preface this by saying, Iris only completed 2 of the 3 weeks they recommended, but it did absolutely nothing. She left with all the issues she arrived with except now when I go to put the shock collar/ e-collar (semantics) on her she runs into her cage and trembles. If you are the type of person who can administer pain to your dog while they look to you in fear for not understanding basic commands this training is for you. Even then, proceed with caution and know that if something goes wrong they will take no accountability. I too own a small business and it pains me to leave my first negative review but I am left with no other options besides social forums, credit disputes or legal action.

I have been a client for nearly four years. Jackson absolutely adores the owner and the staff. He wiggles his backside like he is greeting his best friends each morning at drop off. He has enjoyed a few new experiences such as playing in the sprinkler - he thoroughly enjoys the homemade pumpkin pops that are made with a bit of extra love. So much nicer of a place than those that do not have outdoor facilities - the yards here are groomed and kept immaculate. Give them a try; your dog will love you even more for it!

Our situation is a little complicated: we have two indoor cats and a couple of outdoor neighborhood cats we help to care for. Each time, Michele consistently arrived in the early evenings so they could all stay on schedule. She followed our rather detailed "system" for feeding them, checking their water, and cleaning the litter pans for the indoor ones. She managed to get pictures of even the most shy, elusive ones (both indoor and out) and routinely provided updates to assure us that all was well. She brought in the mail and cultivated a warm and caring relationship with both our cats and us. We felt perfectly comfortable with leaving our pets in her capable hands while away. We have also found her to be available and willing even when we've had to contact her on short notice. She is a treasure, and we're glad we found her!

I thought it was a good thing. Thank you, Lauren!

Our female dog has a collapsed trachea and enlarged heart which causes her to cough often when put into stressful situations like vet visits. When we arrived at their office today, 10/28/23 @ 4PM, she was once again stressed and the extremely rude receptionist, Kim Champion, asked my wife and I to stand outside because our dog was too loud and thought she might be contagious. When I explained to her that she was in respiratory distress and had an appointment for her condition, she told me that we still needed to stand outside. Dr. Kaplan also chimed in and said she sounded terrible and needed to go outside. She has sounded like this for over a year and Kaplan and staff know this! We could have waited comfortably in one of their many open patient rooms, but NO they insisted we stand outside!! This infuriated me and I stormed out! I couldn't fathom how individuals that are so nasty and lack any compassion for pets in distress can work in a veterinary office! Dr. Hanan is by far the only good one left at that office. We have been customers of this practice for 11+ years and have spent several thousand dollars there. I guess our loyalty and patronage means nothing to this staff. It is time to move on to a vet that actually cares about their paying customers and their pets. I love my dogs and I was angered at how we were treated! I should have handled the situation better, but there is no excuse for the disrespect and lack of professionalism shown by Champion and Kaplan! When I informed them that we were leaving their practice, Champion said "Whatever and good!" We should have known not to expect much from a business that resides in a run down and abandoned shell of a shopping center!

My husband and I…read morerescued a beautiful 4-year-old Labradoodle, Wallace (Wally) Wally is very handsome; he needs continuous support with his socialization skills and separation anxiety. Wally has had two veterinarian visits since his adoption. On both visits, he lunged at two different people, including the vet. Yikes!! They handed him back to me and refused to treat. Preceding Wally's adoption, he never had the opportunity to build trust, as much of his time was consumed in a crate. He's as strong as a horse! Wally needs patience, time management, and plenty of exercise time to unleash his energy. With this, he will love you back twofold. Considering that we are the third home for this dog, we love him so much and refuse to give up on him. Wally's companion skills have shown significant improvement in a short amount of time. Providing him with lots of love and daily brushing. Wally was due for his spring hair- cut. I then heard about "Paws Rufflect" in Hammonton, NJ. Concerned for safety, I thought it best to visit the Salon (Paws Rufflect) to discuss Wally's needs. This is when I met Zoey (Zoe) - Owner, Operator, Master Dog Groomer. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by Zoe as she was up front grooming another dog on the table. Zoe was professional, warm, kind, and friendly; her salon was spotless. She answered all my questions and scheduled Wally for an appointment one week out at the end of the day. They even invited me to stay with him. I returned on March 17th with Wally for his spring cut. Zoe was ready for Wally. She welcomed him with love, kindness, and treats and invited him to her table. This is when he jumped up on the table, and she took over. He looks amazingly more handsome than ever! I also met two other groomers employed by Zoe. James and Susanna. Their kindness and passion for what they do mirrored Zoe's professionalism. I would feel confident with any groomer employed with "Paws Rufflect". They receive a five-star stellar review from us. Honestly, everybody was the Best of the best!
