During the move, they made sure to inform me on why certain things needed to be wrapped and explained why they wrapped them a certain way. No matter how many questions I had, they answered every question WITHOUT STOPPING! Then, they put my things in storage very neatly and made sure that I knew how to properly secure my lock. I admired their customer service the most! Both men were very friendly. Their willing to actually take pride in their profession and their customers makes me want to refer EVERY SINGLE PERSON I COME ACROSS! Showed up 2 hours late for move (1pm). 2 guys that weren't swift movers. Took them until 9pm to finish HALF the job (1 house move). Said they would come back in two days to FINISH the job that should have been completed in about 6 hours. THEN, I received an email the next day that they would be coming back to finish the job! The owner Jackson tried to charge me an additional 4% credit card fee to pay and almost $800 bill, and kept whining that I "hadn't said anything nice about him". What?!?! Just moved into my new house after having precious cargo put my stuff in my sisters basement for storage just two weeks ago and found several things broken including a TV!! Cracked my flat screen..Do not use this company! I paid $425 only to find out after moving into my new house that they broke a tv and scratched furniture!! Update to response by precious cargo movers.. The response was a bunch of lies... Those guys DID in fact leave my sofa outside cause he apologized for it after he realized my sofa was left in the rain.. Secondly my furniture went in a storage area so I didn't complain after the move because I didn't see it until I went in the storage to retrieve my items and that was several weeks later!! MY SONS (who are 12, 13,) DID HELP ONLY WITH SMALL BOXES AND NOT BIG ITEMS And I specifically told them not to help with big items just in case they got damaged and they did just that... They were rushing towards the end and in fact they tried to encourage my sons to help more towards the end of the move when they got tired! Don't use this company! The entire moving process is truly the worst. Packing and cleaning, change of address, dealing with utilities. However, Precious Cargo Movers made the actual move itself so pleasant. This was my first experience with professional movers and I've only ever heard horror stories from other people about movers being overpriced, careless, slow, or late. You won't get that from Precious Cargo Movers. Before the move, customer service was quick to respond to all my emails. They held true to the rate they provided, which was very competitive. They even sent the contract for me to review prior to the move so I could review it. Dean and Kumar were friendly, polite, and professional. They were also on time! And most importantly they moved FAST. I had a full (large) 1BR apartment's worth of furniture and boxes. There were stairs at the old place and a freight elevator at the new place. They came in right at 4 hours from arrival to emptying out the truck. There was no damage to any of my belongings. They didn't didn't lollygag. They moved at a great pace and made sure to put everything where I needed it in my new home. I expressed concern about moving my large glass dining table. They took special care to make sure it was packed and loaded without any damage. They also handled a 47" tv and an oversized couch, in addition to the usual smaller furniture and boxes. Do not use them!! They damaged my walls and my furniture but then refused to compensate me for it. You can clearly see hand prints all over my walls and dings... and the ripped furniture yet said they weren't responsible. I found them in Craigslist .. DO NOT TRUST THEM! I contacted this company to assist with my moving my personal belongings to my new home. I sent an email to request an estimate, providing details concerning the move. I received an answer from someone named Jackson who explained the company was available for the date I needed. The package consisted of two men, a 24' truck, blankets, shrink wrap, gas, mileage, and furniture assembly for $88 an hour with a 3-hour minimum. Next we determined the time for the move. I wanted to move early as possible however the soonest the movers were available was a 2pm to 4pm timeframe. I agreed to this time and emailed the company to confirm. My current residence is a split level 2-bedroom townhome. In preparation for the move, I moved every piece of furniture from the 2nd floor of my home. I boxed all my belongings, taped, and labeled each box. I then moved the majority of my things in the garage. The only things left in the house to move was the sofa, a big chair, dresser, television, queen mattress set. I even organized the garage things according to the rooms they would be in the new home. * On Friday, September 28th, I emailed this Jackson person again to confirm they were still available to move my personal belongings and he wrote back to confirm. * On Saturday, September 29th at 3:24pm I receive a text message to my cell phone stating the moving job before me was taking longer than expected and they would be late. * At 5:17pm I received another text message stating they were wrapping up the current job and would be to me soon. * At 6:31pm I sent a text to check the status their arrival * At 6:34pm I received a text response stating they were in route. * The two-man team finally arrived and began moving my things at 7:29pm * For the first hour, I noticed the following: o One gentleman constantly on the phone with his children o A lot of standing around o Moving one box at a time * At 8:30pm, I explained to both men that I organized the things in the garage for easy moving and will not be going over the 3-hour requirement. I asked them to take the next 30 mins to load the truck with big pieces of furniture. * I personally began helping the workers move furniture closer to the truck * I personally moved items back into the garage that were not able to move * We left my current location at approximately 9:00pm * We arrived at the new location approximately 9:15pm * My belongings were removed from the truck however there was not enough time to connect the washer and dryer nor bed assembly. * The men finished approximately 10:20pm * I paid $264 and received my receipt I had a very organized move. I believe the truck was big enough and there was an acceptable amount of time to move everything. Currently, I have a garage filled with boxes and miscellaneous item which now must be moved. I feel the workers were trying to delay my move in order to run up the clock and the bill. I waited from 2pm to 7:30pm for the two men to arrive only to use additional time to complete the task. I felt like I was taken advantage of and will never use the services nor will I ever recommend this company. read more

These guys did a great job, moved everything well, and did their job efficiently. Our issue is with management. Our movers were five and a half hours late from our booking time, three and a half hours late from the end of their two hour window. We expressed our frustration with moving so late in the evening and asked for a reduced rate...their manager said "it will only take 2.5hours for a one bedroom, if that happens, then we will waive our minimum fee". We explained that it would take longer because of how long it took is before, then the manager proceeded to argue with me about how long it would take. It ended up taking almost four hours and our movers left after midnight on a work night. The manager generously gave us half an hour reduced rate. If a 9 hour moving experience (for a one bedroom apartment) isn't what you're looking for, I would suggest you look elsewhere. read more

WARNING - DO NOT HIRE. !!! THEY ARE NOT LICENSED AND ARE DOING MOVES ILLEGALLY - SEE LETTER FROM the GA Department of Public Safety posted on Google Reviews. They have received a penalty and cease and desist letter from the state. The company damaged one of our 70'' flat screen televisions they were not supposed to touch and then concealed the damage. We had our move this past weekend. We did not trust them to move any of our TVs, so we moved them ahead of time. A 70'' flatscreen TV was placed in the corner of our living room and one of the movers stepped on that TV. We noticed the damage the day after the move when we were getting the TV ready to mount. There was nobody in that living room other than the movers placing furniture. This happened in the last hour of the move and none of the three movers mentioned anything about the damage. However, we noticed they were in a hurry all of a sudden toward the end of the move and just quickly placed furniture without unwrapping it. Prior to that, they unwrapped everything and were working much slower and more consistent with someone being paid by the hour. Of course, the company is now claiming the damage was not done by the movers. However, the TV was in perfect condition in the morning prior to the movers arriving and nobody other than the movers entered that living room. The damage on the TV is consistent with someone stepping on the frame when walking around it to place furniture. While reviewing their contract, I also noticed that we were over charged as they rounded up for a full half hour even though their contract refers to quarter hour increments. I will be filing complaints with the BBB, Georgia Department of Public Safety, and Georgia Department of Law's Consumer Protection Division, and am ready to exhaust all other avenues to hold them responsible for this damage and for attempting to conceal it. We paid $630 for a 4 hour move and they caused damage of $1271.99 - DON'T LET THEM TO THE SAME THING TO YOU, BEWARE, DO NOT HIRE. read more

Two moves, 4 years apart- Precious Cargo went above and beyond both times. They were on time, carefully wrapped all furniture with blankets and shrink wrap, worked FAST- they hustled and as a bonus they were incredibly gracious when I had them move things around because I couldn't decide where I wanted them. I used this company for a last minute move. They were ok but weren't wrapping things properly which worried me. Sure enough things got scratched and broken. During the move a major storm came thru pausing the move. When the storm was over one of the guys started saying things like we got to go and insulting me saying I'd been indecisive "all day". Quite to the contrary when you are putting things in to a storage unit it's like putting together a puzzle and requires creativity. The guys were in such a rush that they left a desk in my yard lying on a broken vase. I called the company and the manager on duty said, "he would talk to him". I received six quotes for Atlanta movers, and Precious Cargo was by far the least expensive. The other five quotes came in around 160 per hour plus a transportation fee. Precious Cargo was 85 per hour with no additional fees. The two men that moved us got the job done very quickly and efficiently, only 3 hours for the entire move! They worked hard and were very professional. I heard about them from two separate friends who used them and had equally good experiences. How other movers stay in business I have no idea. This was my first time using movers and I would definitely use them again. They were initially 30 minutes late due to gps sending them the wrong way but once they arrived they went straight to work. I was nervous about them moving several glass tables but they were very careful with them as well as all of my belongings. They moved very fast and were very polite and friendly. For the price, the actual moving experience was acceptable. It wasn't the most professional operation that I've come across, but good enough for the price. I chose to pack all of my own boxes, and also chose to move all of my fragile items in my own car. Many of my boxes had arrows to indicate which side should go up, but those were all ignored, so I'm glad that they didn't contain anything delicate. The worst part of my experience was the fact that they showed up at 8:20 pm for a 6:00 pm appointment. I was notified at 5:00 pm that they were running late because the appointment before me was "taking a little longer than expected." I was told that I would be kept updated, but since I hadn't heard anything at 6:30 pm, I asked for an update. I was told that they were halfway done unloading. "We should be finishing shortly." I asked for clarification on what "shortly" means. Instead, at 7:00 pm I was told that they were finished and were heading my way. At this point, it would have been great if I had been informed that they were coming from over an hour away, but I was not. The most concerning part is that the individual who was texting me with these updates seemed to think that this was all acceptable and that the off schedule condition was handled properly. I was told that it is difficult to give accurate time estimates in the moving business. Not buying that. I was told that the client is notified as soon as possible when the schedule changes. In reality I was only notified about 55 minutes before my appointment time, and they were over an hour away, so it seems like there was definitely some opportunity for an earlier notification. I really just hate that I was strung along little by little instead of just being told that the delay was going to be hours, not minutes. read more

These movers literally saved the day for us. We had booked a mover who was less than stellar (he was scheduled to show up on a Sunday for us at 11 am. and pulled a no-show). After the no-show by the other mover, I contacted Jackson with Precious Cargo Movers, and he told me he thought he could get us worked in by 4 pm the same day! He followed up with us immediately, confirmed they would be there at 4, and they actually got there before we did (they were 10 minutes early)! The guys were very nice, courteous, and were dressed nicely with a t-shirt indicating the company they worked for. They wrapped the nicer items in plastic and used blankets. The cost was $80/hr for 2 guys and a 24 foot truck. They finished the move from the home to the upstairs storage unit in about 3 hours. Jackson followed up with us to make sure we were happy. I must admit, I was skeptical about hiring a moving service, just because I did not know if it was worth the money. Let me tell you, IT IS!!!!! Precious Cargo disassembled & moved all of my belongs from a third floor apartment and then moved them and reassembled them to another 3rd floor apartment in three hours (and that includes drive time). They are fast, efficient and professional, making sure that all furniture that can be scratched is wrapped and protected. I would recommend their services to anyone. read more
