I think this is a very unique model. I have been able to tailor components of the program (SYNGERI Wellness Assessment) with the support of Naz Beheshti to develop applicable wellness workshops and programs to enhance wellness with staff programs at San Francisco General Hospital. I was interested in seeking different approaches non medical practitioners were taking to address one's motivation to enhance their wellness. As the Director of Wellness Services at San Francisco General Hospital, we embarked on our wellness journey a long time ago but often we found ourselves always back to the old medical model focusing on treatment of illness after it occurs, rather than reducing the risk of developing the illness. We had done many assessments and surveys with our staff to hear from them about what wellness/health means to them and what they would need to reach that optimal health. It really came down to self-efficacy, their ability to cope with a given situation: stresses of work, limited resources, limited time, education/knowledge. etc. The challenge we faced was to figure out a tangible way to measure where our staff identified their health on the health spectrum and make a plan that could be measured- recognizing that it is a fluid. When I took the Prananaz' SYNERGI Wellness Assessment, and was coached on the results I found that this approach aligned with our findings, and offered an accessible, easy tool to capture self awareness and allow one to navigate or lead their own wellness journey. Coaching is necessary and Prananaz inspires a person to embark on healing path through empowerment. The assessment successfully helped me visualize where I am on my wellness spectrum (so it is individualized for me); where I wanted to focus my energy; set goals in a very clear, concise, and tangible way; and then have a plan to get there. The best part is that anyone can use their personalized results as a tool in conjunction with a health coaching program Prananaz' offers. I really think it can be applicable to many types of people and definitely want to thank Prananaz services for providing another model for us to do the great work we do. read more
