The cashier was friendly and I was on my way. When I arrived home I realized that I hadn't been given the correct discount on my purchase. I called and the same cashier answered the phone. I explained to him the discrepancy and he apologized saying, "my bad, just bring the receipt next time you come in and we will take care of it." I'm used to J Crew's usually great customer service so I didn't think about it. Fast forward a week, and I returned to the store. I walked around the store and shopped a little more. I tried on a few things that didn't work. As I was walking around I spotted a pair of shoes I really liked. I tried them on and decided I wanted them. They were marked down and in an area where there were additional mark down on sale item signs. When I got to the counter, I explained the situation with the previous cashier and the woman (Krystal) at the counter said to me it was not on further sale at that point and she stated the day that sale started. I pointed out to her that that was the day that I was there and it was on my receipt. She begrudgingly agreed acting like I was in the wrong. She then rang up the shoes which came up as a higher price than originally marked. When I questioned her about this, she said they were not on sale. I had to physically show her where the basket was that had the shoes in it and she still did not want to give me the sale price. There were multiple shoes in that basket, including another pair of the ones that I got. It was one of the strangest most disappointing interactions I have ever had in a retail store. I had simply been walking up this strip mall going from store to store and just walked in. There's no signage inside that differentiates this from Home Goods or TJ Max. To my surprise this place was STACKED with smaller gifts that were perfect as stocking stuffers or gifts for casual friends. All sorts of smaller reasonably-priced items that solve many tough gift challenges. This store was stocked with newer items the closer it got to Christmas. Came here twice and the second time (week before Christmas) they had several items I didn't see the previous week. - Not as nice as Home Goods, but a good place for small gifts for friends. - Despite being full of cashiers they have a long slow line.

The showroom is sophisticated in its minimal aesthetic. The people working there are friendly and attentive. I have only sold here and the process is smooth and simple. I bring in my handbags/shoes and they take the items in for inspection and authentication. Each item takes about 15 minutes. They return with a list of your offers or reason they don't want the item. You are under no obligation to accept the offer nor do you pay a fee for authentication. Whatever you decide not to sell is returned to you; for what you do sell you have a few options - store credit, Neiman Marcus gift card, or cash payout. If you do the cash payout, you receive a direct deposit within in days. Make an appointment whether you are selling or buying, best way to do it. And plan on 15 minutes per item (if you have a lot, I recommend breaking up the appointments rather than having to wait, though I will say it never takes as long as they quote you).
