All of it is a riff on loaded fries except tator tots are used instead. The portion size was quite nice, the workers were very friendly, and the dish arrived quickly despite the steady line of people placing orders. I wanted to let the line die down a bit since I had my kids running around all over. Lucky for me, it eventually did. After a very short wait, I was lucky to snag the last serving of the Totsy Gyro. A friend had suggested it. Many of the other menu items had already sold out. It was delicious!!! The gyro meat was very tender. All of the toppings added just the right flavors and I loved the addition of tots mixed in. Definitely looking forward to eating food from them again.

Service was wonderful. We visited a bit at the window. I shared it was my first time ordering from Nina's and I'd driven across the metro to find her. I had a short wait for my order and a few people started to stack up at the window as I waited. The birria tacos were my favorite. The other two items lacked nothing. Their birria and consume in any form is top notch! SO tender and I love the flavor! Now if I had to compare Nina's against Marissa and Flame.... Why? There were three food trucks and grilled cheese fit the bill for the four of us (2 adults, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old). It's not the most attractive looking truck but, most of them aren't. Their menu was posted on the side showing the grilled cheese or nacho offerings. We knew our one year old would get a plain grilled cheese but it took a bit to determine the others. So many tasty sounding options! Our four year old declared she wanted pineapple on hers. Great, really, pineapple on a grilled cheese? They had it! A Hawaiian Toast! It was cheese, Canadian bacon, and pineapple...perfect for her! We added a Mason Dixon which has pulled pork, pepper jack cheese, and BBQ sauce. A #Hashtag (corn beef hash, soft poached egg, and American cheese) rounded out our order. The sandwiches came out rather quickly, and in pairs. The first two that came out were the kids' and they looked yummy. The plain grilled cheese was thick and melty with perfectly toasted bread. Our little guy had no problem scarfing it down. Our daughter was thrilled with the pineapple on hers and ate about half the entire sandwich (a good amount for her). I enjoyed my Mason Dixon and my husband enjoyed his #Hashtag. He did have to ask for a fork as it was a bit messy. We finished off the kids' sandwiches. I enjoyed the plain one a lot! Street Eats DSM…read more Klickle showed them right off of 47th and Westown and I remembered it was food truck Wednesday over at the Regency buildings (4700 Westown Pkwy in West Des Moines). They normally park on the South side of the buildings... Last year there was usually three or four trucks out there every Wednesday...this year only two most of the time. I've had my eye on Street Eats DSM and as luck would have it they were parked alongside one of my other favorite trucks today...Jack & Vinnie's (owned and operated by Club 2000). But I came for Street Eats DSM...got to stick to the plan. I'd already scoped out the Rocky Balboa online. Philly style beef, natural cut fries, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and American cheese on a large hoagie roll... The other menu items sure looked really good too. Ordering and paying was a snap and I was surprised when they handed me a buzzer to signal me when my order was ready for pickup. What is this madness? Is this witchcraft? A truck using a buzzer call system... Have pigs flown and hell froze over? I have no idea what this costs to maintain, but I hope other trucks start using this... My buzzer went off after a short wait and I grabbed my sandwich and headed to the car for the short drive back to my office. The sandwich was $9 and a can of Coke was $1. So a total of $10 before tip... My biggest issue with some food trucks is that I don't feel like I get the amount of food I would at a restaurant. Probably why I like Jack & Vinnie's...this is never an issue with them. It's not an issue with Street Eats DSM either... I am pleasantly full, not stuffed, but I feel like it was money well spent. I'm not usually a big fan of potatoes on my sandwiches, but the fries were crispy and added a nice crunch along with being very filling. The sandwich was cooked well...all components...and the staff provided really good service. You can't expect much more than that off a truck. A big thumbs up. He's a nice guy and the man can cook... I ordered the Cajun tacos...one shrimp and one catfish. 2/$7. The shrimp and fish were cooked perfectly. The other ingredients were fresh, and the remoulade has a great flavor to it. Like Jack & Vinnie's this is a truck I don't walk away from hungry or unhappy. Great service. The menu items are a good bang for your buck as far as size/quantity and quality. I know fish and chips and shrimp and fish tacos has been a hot item lately... I'd suggest putting this truck on your to-try list for both. The buzzer call system they use is genius. The truck was set up in the parking lot and the line was just forming. The menu was written on a chalkboard. The details of each item were very thorough. I was very interested in the chicken bruschetta. We ordered and it took about 3-5 min for the fresh food to come to the window. Oh my it was huge! Starting from the bottom was a big ol bun. Then was the hot fresh French fries..Oh and then the shredded chicken, bruschetta, and pesto mayo and cheeses. I thought the flavor was fantastic and wished I didn't have so far to walk back to my company so I could eat it right down. The amount of food was too much for my little mouth so I had to get it back to where I could cut it down again. Next time I am skipping the bun and having it all on fries!!
