Our refrigerator wasn't cooling properly. We called the office on Saturday evening 12/6 and the after hours service picked up. They dispatched one of the service team members to our unit. We moved in in December and so far everything is great. Pricing is reasonable, and they allow animals, two features we were looking for. Taylor in the office is really helpful, and maintenance issues are handled in a timely manner. Maintenance guys are really nice. My in-laws also live in the complex, and have for a very long time. Staff is completely unresponsive, pool is always closed for repairs, workout facility is terrible (circuits blow if you turn the treadmill up to a moderate speed). Very disappointing for the price. read more

Today 6-1-20 was the by far the most upset I've been with this complex since I've been here. So today as i go in the club house to give turn in my move-out papers (because you have to give 60day notice) the Property Manager Denise Webb decided to express her feelings to me personally IN ADDITION to the letter that was left outside my door earlier today. Now on 5-30-20 i decided to throw a birthday party for my 5 year old which was during daytime hours of (3pm-6pm) now i don't know about you but i pay $1750 for rent here & your telling me i can't have a peaceful birthday party for my son! So Denise Tells me and i quote, "you know i am very disappointed because there should only be 2 people per apartment and i saw the party that was going on the other day and if i wasn't with my son i would of came and cleared it out!" Excuse me! Is that a threat?! Now i am 27 years old & In my personal opinion Denise looks like she can be an elder to me. Now as soon as the comment was made, i paused. I couldn't believe the disrespect i felt at that moment and the foul language and hurtful words i was wanted to use towards her. first of all! Disappointed? Who said i was seeking your approval? And why did she feel the need IN ADDITION To the letter that was left at my door titled "noise complaint" to further express her opinion to me?! So i kindly told her that i was upset and that the way she had just spoken to me was disrespectful and her extra commentary was not needed as i was already there providing my move out date. Denise would have never talked to a white person that way and i felt that because i was young and black woman she decided to treat me unprofessionally. This woman needs a reality check! RED FLAG!!! DISONEST!!! MISLEADING!!! I was searching for a 2 BR 2 BA, and this establishment lists an apartment rent for a 2 BR and 2BA as $1267. In the course of 30 hours, the price changed from $1267 to as of 6:55 PM on 01/20/19 to a total of $1597 per month for the exact same apartment. The leasing agent that I dealt with, Jessica, was nice and pleasant, however, every time I contacted her office about the cost of the apartment, the price went up. The only explanation that I received was an analogy comparing the apartment to an airline ticket, as the price will fluctuate with supply and demand. This practice is dishonest as well as a serious waste of time. In addition to the outrageous cost of application, another thing that they will not be upfront about, unless you ask directly, is that if you are not in contact with the office within 72 hours of being denied on an application, then you forfeit the $300 preliminary deposit. Whether the smoke and mirror tactics used upon me, the policy of an individual or that of the management as a whole, I can not be certain. I do not recommend even considering this place for the cost and their shady tactics regarding their leasing policy. I feel like I was dealing with a sleazy used car salesman rather than a reputable leasing establishment. PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DEALING WITH THIS PLACE, AND TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE NOT BEING LOCKED INTO A 15 MONTH LEASE RATHER THAN A 12 MONTH LEASE. Prairie Point took the stress out of relocating from another State. We knew this was where we belonged the moment we pulled up. We filled out an application on a Sunday and were approved the very next day. Denise and the Office Staff were so knowledgeable and accommodating. From making us feel welcome to suggestions on finding a new Doctor in the area. Maintenance is professional and takes care of needs as if it their own. We love being near Restaurants, Church, Movies, Shopping and access to I65 for work. A hugh Highlight is the Monthly Resident Events where if wanted you can meet other neighbors while enjoying the Awesome Clubhouse. I have developed amazing Friendships. Clean, Serene, Safe! Terrible experience. Was welcomed and very impressed until I moved in. The office staff is very rude and unprofessional. They are rude to my children that go in to say hi and grab one of their so called free treats. They are told they are to leave. Maintenance has walked in with no warning and with the wrong call on me twice! No warning or even a knock. Been harassed and unfairly treated. Very disappointed. read more

My husband and I applied for an apartment at Prairie Point on the application is asked if you had ever been arrested so my husband answered yes and gave his explanation. This arrest was 18 years ago when he was a teenager, he served no time in jail because it was his first offense and only received probation for 1 year. He has not been in trouble with the last since. When the leasing agent told me the reason for the denial I let her know that was a form of discrimination in addition too they need to advertise that there is no "leeway" when it comes to arrest because then applicants like myself and my husband will not waste time in applying. Her response "well we let everyone know we will be running a background check". I commented by saying running a background check does not properly informing applicants, jobs run background checks and my husband has 2 jobs so clearly 'stating that running a background check' does not automatically mean you are not qualified. She stated that was the companies policy and there was nothing she could do. On top of us wasting money on an application fee they also make you pay $300 to hold the apartment when applying so now that we've been denied I was informed that it would take 2 weeks to return the $300. Although I recognize that they are trying to create a safe environment for their complex, I do feel they should not waste applicants time nor take their money without properly informing them. read more

Bring your checkbook! I have never been nickel'd and dim'd so much by a business! I was charged numerous late fees for rent checks deposited on the 3rd of the month. This place does not like to work with you or show leniency on anything. Also, I was charged $450.00 of my security deposit for not giving a 60 day notice that I would not be renewing my lease, even though I let a staff member know 3 months prior to my lease end. All in all, the people there will smile and it is nicely kept, but they seem about as money-hungry as any business I've come across. read more

My wife and I moved in about a year ago from downtown Chicago and we absolutely love it. I think it's been the closest thing to us living in our own home. It's a very quiet and well kept community in which neighbors all take pride in preserving where they live. The management team has taken the initiative to ensure that the tenants are engaged and enjoy living at Prairie Point. In addition to all of that, the apartments are spacious and lends itself to townhouse style living. read more
