Autumn Ridge Apartments & Townhomes

I found Milan N's review amusing because it reminded me of my experience at another well known…read moreapartment complex in the area a long long time ago. (This was not in Park Forest.) On a nice spring day I walked in to take a tour of the complex, not making an appointment ahead of time. The complex's agent had the same reaction; I interrupted her crossword puzzle book (I didn't see any popcorn) and I was serving as a big inconvenience to her. I got a very short, curt and rude tour of the complex and needless to say did not move there. I am not sure whether making an appointment would have helped; my guess is probably not. I toured Autumn RIdge Apartments at about the same time as this experience. As I remember it it's an older (1960s or 1970s as I remember) and large complex. There are two sections, high-rise and townhouses. There are also townhouses built in the 1990s which are not part of Autumn Ridge. I don't remember washer/dryer hookups in the high-rise section; I believe that was coin-op. (I did not tour the townhouse section - they may have them.) I did not become a tenant because the complex was going through some extensive renovations at the time and I didn't want to live in a construction site. If this happens to anyone I would recommend reporting this to the corporation which owns the complex. I wish I had done so. Sorry about your experience.

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and response from management at Hickory…read moreCreek Apartments. Two days ago, I came home and discovered that my bed was wet. When I checked the ceiling above my bed, the ceiling itself was wet and there were visible wet marks. I do not know exactly what happened or whether the water came from the apartment above me, but I immediately reached out to management to report the issue. I also sent an email and have yet to receive a response, explanation, or update about when someone will address it. This is especially concerning because the water affected my bed and there are still visible signs of moisture on my ceiling. In addition to this issue, my air conditioning has not been working since July 1st. I was told by maintenance that they have not been able to repair my AC because they do not have a key to my apartment. What makes that explanation even more frustrating is that I have lived here for over 14 years, and this is now the SECOND time a maintenance employee has told me that they do not have a key to my unit. The last time this happened, I personally had another key made with the maintenance person. So my question is: Where is that key? Why does management/maintenance keep losing the key to my apartment? Beyond delaying necessary repairs, repeatedly being told that management cannot locate a key to my home raises serious concerns for me about how residents' keys are being handled and accounted for. Between an AC unit that has not worked since July 1st, water and visible wet marks on the ceiling above my bed, and receiving no response from management after reporting these problems, I am extremely frustrated. After living here for more than 14 years, I should not have to repeatedly contact management just to get basic maintenance issues addressed or wonder why the key I previously provided to maintenance can no longer be located. I am documenting my experience because these issues need to be addressed, and residents deserve timely maintenance and clear communication from management.

I never heard anything from Arbors about the status of my background check or any info on the apartment. Never got my money back nor did anyone answer my calls/emails. I had no issue getting my money back from the other apartments I applied too and did not accept.
