I'm a Gucci Outlet pro. I shop with most of the outlets in the USA, so I was excited to see what…read moreGucci Outlet in Italy was like. 1. Show up by 9:45 am if you can. I actually made an appointment for 10 am, but it wasn't needed. I was the 6th person in line at 9:50. The line got longer as the day progressed. The associates said they have longer lines after 12:00 pm. 2. You aren't assigned a sales associate like they do in America. I went straight to women's shoes. I asked for shoes in my size and they pulled them out from the wall in front of you! Awesome! No waiting. The sales associates are assigned to areas, so when I asked the gentleman who pulled two pairs for shoes to help me in kids, he told me someone else would assist me there. 3. When you say you want an item, they give you a ticket. Then, they take the items and move them to the checkout out line for you. Wonderful. You don't have to carry ANYTHING. As you gain more items, they scan your ticket and keep stockpiling things for you! 4. I had little hopes of the items being better priced. Gucci Outlet in Spain was very underwhelming. However, I found some green Marmont heels that never made it to the outlets in the US. They were marked down to about $480 in the department stores, and I found them at the Gucci Outlet in Italy for under 380€. I also found another shoe that sold out in the US in my size, but it was available here for cheaper! 5. Something they had no problem doing (but the sales associates in the US hate doing) was just searching available items in a specific size. 6. They do have a kids section, but it's not very big. Overall, I had a good experience. I bought one purse and two pairs of shoes.

The service, selections and value of item were great. Next time I'm in Italy I will return.read more

As with any outlet shopping, it's very hit or miss. We stopped on our way from Florence to our next hotel in Tuscany since it was on the way. In the future I'm not sure I would go out of my way to make the visit but definitely worth it if you are passing through anyways. The Gucci and Prada store are huge and seemed to have the best deals but also the longest lines. I would also plant to eat before, after or bring your own food. There is a restaurant on site that is fine in a pinch but not great.

There are travel groups/companies that take big groups here by coach bus from all over the region. This outside outlet mall is huge and worth the visit, if your interested in designer/name brand goods. We visited Gucci, Prada, Ferragamo, Bottega, Celine, and Valentino. I didn't get a chance to go into Fendi, Coach, or Saint Laurent. I was satusfied with my purchases. Some of the stores have a cap in the amount of guests they let in at a time, so you have to wait in line outside before getting in. When we visited, most of the stores were open and available, some were busier than others. There are some savings to be had in some of the stores. If you are living in the US, but be sure to calculate what the US currency price of the item is, to ensure your really saving money. You can even try and find out what the US price of the item would be online first to compare the price at The Mall. Each store has a relationship with a specific tax free company, Planet, Global Blue etc. Depending on what company they use, could determine how much $ you actually get back. Some have higher fees, so you don't end up saving much money. The Mall grounds are well manicured and sprawling. You could spend the whole day there. Or go to your specific store of choice and get in and get out. There's a cafes & coffee shop for sustenance during your shopping day. The best thing about the place, is they have a tax free lounge in the far back of the Mall. Where you can go and apply for your VAT, and receive your cash refund, depending on your final destination country. You can also ask questions there. The staff are pretty strict in there. You pull a number and wait to be called, and it's slow, and ladies like it quiet, so they ask for minimal talking while waiting. But its got AC and chairs to rest your weary feet. So give yourself time to get there wait in line, if you need to. My friend was leaving the next day, and was able to get her VAT. Worth the visit if in the area.
