When my cousin came to me for help on her website for her diamond business. www.theloosediamond.com…read moreI told her I barely know how to set up my own home printer. Luckily my friend referred me to someone he found on Yelp when he wanted to start an online business. The previous vendor that set up her site didn't do such a great job and there were always glitches. Once something was fixed, another thing broke. We called up The Martian Team and spoke with Jeff. Jeff was friendly and not pushy trying to sell me stuff we didn't need. They broke down how much it would cost and how long it would take. They also offer a flat monthly or hourly maintenance rate. JavaScript, SEO, HTML, ...... Blah blah blah. I spoke w a different web design company and a web designer. They tried to push something called SEO because they were an SEO company and that was the only product they work with. Then they tried to refer me to an internet marketing company. @#$% ... Internet marketing??? We just need the buttons to work! I'm glad Jeff broke it down into plain English for us and explained the bugs on the site. The site looks great now. My cousin was so happy now that she doesn't have to worry about Shopping cart glitches or error messages anymore and if she does, she has a reliable web team she can go to.

I hired Lizzy Shaw for PR services, we signed a three month and one week contract for online PR…read moreservices. I could not afford the $4000 6 month-monthly retainer fee for her full-service salon PR services, so online pitching to bloggers and other online sources is what we agreed upon. I know that working with a PR person is never a guarantee and a financial risk. But, after not even 2 months of working with her, she suddenly said she had other personal things to take care of and needed a month to do so, thereby putting my work on hold. This happened shortly after she was asked to prove the work that she had done to pitch my product, as only 1 on-line product giveaway had come of her work. She got upset and defensive. That was a huge sign that I should have stopped working with her and I hung in there still, and wasted so much of my hard earned money on this woman. I regret that I trusted her and listened to her saying what fabulous things she could do for me and connect me to all the people she knew. She wasted my time and money and always talked way too much about her own personal life and was highly unprofessional. When I did see the few emails when pitching me, she piggybacked my product on her current clients products. I spent over 4k and feel taken. I never do reviews but feel this is very important to share, so please be aware of her services. I did not do my research and regret it now.

This REALLY should be a two star review but I have to be honest: if you need anything Asian related in terms of cookery, you will probably find it here. And since there's no real competition, other than online, I am absolutely rounding up. But yes, be prepared to scrub the stuff you're getting here thoroughly before using for food prep. At any rate, when I needed Ta Fong, it came through in a pinch. A client required a super authentic hotpot setup for a photo shoot and there wasn't enough time to get anything online. I must have stopped at three other locations of cooking supply stores that technically *should* have carried what I needed, but they didn't. When I got to Ta Fong, there were MANY hotpots for me to choose from. Some looked super Chinese country style in that they had painted pastel flowers and whatnot and others were super modern, imported from Japan. There were many different sizes and since my client and I didn't have a consensus on what would look good in a shoot, I ended up getting three. Things got awkward in regard to me buying the different sizes in that I got automatically interrogated at the counter as to why I needed three and I was upfront about needing it for a styled shoot. Suddenly, I was told there would be no returns at all. As in, the return policy that applies to everyone else got nullified for me at the start. I get where they're coming from in that no one wants to be a free rental house for props but I very clearly explained that I would only be using one of these and the rest were for sizing purposes only. So the lady wrote on my receipt that I COULD bring back only one of the three. I pushed to return back two but could only get her to pre-emptively agree to give me return authorization for one. That sucked. But at the end of the day, the shoot went great and the hotpot we ended up selecting--the large size one--worked beautifully. So, yeah, I'm a-ok with Ta Fong.
