If you're looking for a nice relaxing day on a private island then this may be the trip for you!…read moreThis is a group tour that travels with more than just those you booked with. As long as 15 people are on the tour, they will take you to your Calebra. If less than 15 you stay local! There were well over 15 so we were able to tour Calebra. It was so beautiful! Once you get there, they pick you up on a ferry to take you to the boat . The boat travels for about an hour before getting to a private island and that is where you get the guided snorkeling or diving tour depending on what you selected! My friends and I did the snorkeling. As someone who can't swim (I know I know lol) I had a great time. The tour guides were very informative and helpful for all ages and swim levels. They do provide fruit, cold cut sandwiches and rum punch and when you stop . If you're looking for a "party" boat then this may not be for you. Don't expect lots of liquor and twerking etc it's a family type tour, Some of my friends were a bit disappointed by the price expecting that we'd stop somewhere that had a bar and restaurant but it was just a private island (we're in our high 20s low 30s). So idk I think it depends on your expectations but I was okay with everything and the service was great!

We were told we had to first buy and complete the course work through PADI and from There they would do the water/ dive sessions and compete the certification. The shop also gets a kick back from Padi as work since it makes u select a dive shop where ur course work is sent to. Once we complete the course work, we each reached out to the dive shop about 2 - 1 1/2 weeks in advance to schedule the dates and times for the water sessions. We did not receive any type of response back from the shop. We attempted to message on whatsup as requested but still did not receive a confirmation or any type of communication. We called down to the shop, where we were told to just text them. We again tried to text the shop but did not receive any response. We flew to San Juan and arrived and immediately went to the shop, we were told to text them and they would get back to us.. we asked directly if they had availability and we were told they would check and get back to us via text.... A day goes by, we attempt to call and no response.. fully we get a text saying they are fully committed...... This was without doubt the worst type of un-reliable customer service and a refusal to communicate.. I would not trust this dive shop or operation. They should never have told us to use to do the course work with their shop and then refuse to complete our certification. Luckily Scuba Dogs next door came to our rescue when we told them about the horrible customer service we received. Just be aware this shop will not be reliable.

I recommend wearing water shoes as you'll have to walk through thigh deep water to get to the kayak. You want to plan your trip as close to a new moon as possible as you want to eliminate as much light as possible to really see the glow. Annoyingly there is a neighborhood above the lagoon with bright spotlights but facing the water way and lingering near the other side of the lagoon the bioluminescence is still very visible and a total blast. The guides even brought us a tiny jellyfish to observe and see how it glowed as it wiggled in our hands. I wouldn't even bother bringing your phone, I highly doubt you'd be able to capture the glow while holding still enough in a kayak. Navigating the mangroves was tricky because the guides blue lights were just bright enough the destroy our night vision and not see the low hanging branches. I would hope in the future that the guides would switch to red lights to make navigating in the low light easier.

There are dozens of other tour companies out there as well making it feel like overcrowded amusement park rather than nature. The mosquitoes and biting flies added to the misery. And then there was no bioluminescence to be seen. They said that's typical with all the climate change/light pollution. Really bad experience all around.

My mom and I got the lovely tour guide Elizabeth. I love how she constantly checked on everyone as she knew most of us never snorkeled before- she checked on me often as well since with snorkeling you have to breathe through your mouthpiece and not your nose but I'm a nose breather - so this was really hard but it can be accomplished and it does become fun once you learn ( my only issue ). The tour was in a nice little area. The check in process was so easy and you get paired into groups with your own tour guide. I think it's 9 max per group. The experience is beautiful and so different, I got to see and swim with a sea turtle, saw so much fish, these beautiful blue fish and so much sea life. Elizabeth took AMAZING pictures and videos (all you have to do it ask). The pictures really are the best, I paid for an underwater phone case and it was useless so I'm glad this excursion included pictures and videos. I enjoyed it so much I want to keep snorkeling in different parts of the world. Oh at first you start off with your life vest- but if you swim very well and want it off after awhile you can. Which I did and swam to the bottom to get cool pics and vids with the sea turtle I was so hype about this! Even if you're scared or nervous I say DO IT! Muchas gracias Elizabeth you rock!

We enjoyed viewing the shipwreck and saw lots of small fish and a sea urchin. Would highly recommend! Our starting point was on Isla de Cabras, which was an interesting little park, although a bit of a struggle getting an Uber there. Some delays there, but nothing bad. Great view of El Morro too.

A lot of people walk, run, cycle along the trail which is attached alongside the ocean coast. The beach is organized with a nice layout. Parking is close. Places to sit and take in the scenery. You can easily find the place to rent chairs and umbrella if you want. Or you can bring your own chair and sit under the palm trees for shade. Or just lay out and relax. What I like about this beach is that they put up a long row of rocks to break the strong waves. So, you can go out really far and the water is not deep. You can more wade in the water or float. I came during hurricane season, so there were some strong waves crashing, but luckily the rocks kept things safe. I did not notice any restaurants, food stands, nor people selling anything. But I also came during the low peak season so it was chill. Still a lot of people relaxing at the beach. Loved this beach.

After walking up and down the hills of Old San Juan, my husband and I decided to take an Uber over to a beach that had come highly raved about. Our driver dropped us off outside of a stadium entrance, next to a hotel that I presume was badly damaged during one of the storms and left to decline. Our walk felt like that of one from a zombie movie, but we saw others who had clearly been in the water, so we kept trucking. When we reached the opening to the water by the scuba rental booth, all we found was a small slip of sand onto the clear blue waters that could sit maybe 10 people comfortably with chairs and towels. There was already a large group both in and out of the water, so we continued to walk as we felt there had to be more. We walked around for a bit, trying to locate more beach, and found an inlet of palm trees swaying in the winds coming off of the water. No beach in sight. It wasn't until we left exhausted from our sightseeing and wandering that we found an aerial view that showed the beach to be about another quarter to half mile away from the farthest point we had reached. Water was beautiful, and seeing pictures from others who made it to the beach is so nice, however accessibility for this beach was a huge bummer.
