I recently went to Puerto Rican & bakery Cafe. I believe Angel was the one who served us.. I absolutely loved it! I had chicken soup with tostones(plantain). My daughter had the steak sandwich on bread & my nephew had the same but instead of bread he had on plantain..we bought some souvenirs. Also, Puerto Rican coffee to make @ home.. I recommend this place.

Guava juice

I'm biking 8 miles to balance out the calories I'm about to enjoy, feeling empowered and in control. The bread is just like being backnon island. I get a lot freezer it then eat weeks later. My schedule make it hard to get here weekly! Quick service-chill environment fresh Guava juice after that ride is great start for the week!

This place doesn't have the best curb appeal but don't let that fool you. Authentic Puerto Rican food! I only know this because I was brought by a couple Puerto Ricans who drive up from Miami-Dade weekly. Other Puerto Rican patrons all agreed while discussing this while having breakfast with us. Family owned and operated with foods made in house. Parking and location in a strip mall. I'll be back

Pineapple Cake
Tony S.

Pineapple cake Requested a Pineapple cake that I haven't had for 30 years since leaving NY. There was a bakery called Valencia, and Ms. Diane has hit another Home Run with this pineapple cake. Moist, and the perfect blend of pineapple filling in the middle. Brought my tastebuds back to a simpler time. Once again , this little hole wall is a hit!! Try the pineapple cake you will not be disappointed. I guarantee it!!

Octopus Empanada MUST TRY!!!!
Amy L.

It's very hard to find good authentic Puerto Rican food. And I finally found a good place! I had the octopus empanada & crab empanadas. my husband had their special which was the Canoas. Everything was really good! But my favorite was the octopus empanadas!! I will be back! People who work their and own the place are very nice and helpful! This is a must try.

Breakfast sandwich

Food is amazing! I had the breakfast sandwich with ham egg and cheese and it was huge and very tasty on the bread. Pan sobao is so fresh and fragrant. Quesito was perfect. Empanada de tripleta was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I'm excited to come back and try more! One of the best bakeries I've been to. Service is incredibly friendly. Angel was so nice! Muchas gracias

Perfect! The shrimp empandas are amazing! I recommend calling ahead, the service is fast but they are pretty busy for a small spot.

Open arriving at the parking lot and seeing how deserted the place was, I had a feeling in my gut we had chosen the wrong spot. Came in and we're sat right away. There was only another couple dining in at that time, on a Saturday at 6:30pm. Against my better judgement, we sat down and browsed the menu. We decided to order and make the best of our evening. The menu had several dishes that didn't sound like a bad idea. Service was great but then again, it was just us. Lol. We dined in for approximately an hour and within that time, another couple came in. Appetizers and courses came out very quickly. We had the yuca empanadas for our appetizer. They were really greasy but not horrible. For our main course, I had the mofongo stuffed with churrasco and a side of tostones, my husband had the fried pork chunks with white rice and red beans. My churrasco was a bit fatty and chewy and the mofongo was on the dryer side. We both ordered cocktails, they were both very heavy on the alcohol but not too bad. I'm almost certain we will not be visiting again but I'm glad we checked them off of our list.

Surprisingly, when I walked in the restaurant was clean and up-to-date, the staff was super nice and greeted me initially when I came in the door with a friendly Hello! I checked out the scenery, of course, and noticed that in the new location the kitchen was open and you can see the staff preparing the food. Once I got to the register, I explained it was my first time there at this new location. The staff quickly gave me a rundown of the menu and dinner options available to me. One of the staff members also explained the difference between the two meat choices I was interested in. impatiently waited for me to make the final decision on which dinner plate I was interested in ordering. After paying , my food came out and about 10my food came out in about 10 minutes tops. The cashier opened the plate containing my food to show me how hot, fresh, and tasty looking my food was. Lastly, He secured my food with a plastic bag and handed me all of the items I purchased. I thought to myself what took me so long to actually come to this restaurant. It was such a great experience. I love the grow of the restaurant Customer Service different from the past experiences. I have had with this restaurant when it was in the location overall the experience was great and the price for one large plate of Griot was only $15. You cant beat that with a fat stick lol! The place is on the smaller side but there's plenty of tables if you want to dine in. Service was super friendly, Adriana did a great job with recommendations and was very sweet. The food came out completely fresh and quickly. I ordered Arepa La chama - shredded beef, cheese and avocado. Wow the beef was so juicy and flavorful. The arepa was cooked perfectly, almost as good as my grandmothers. The protein amount was generous. I also added two fried eggs which were also cooked great. 5/5 ($10.95 + $2 for fried eggs) Awesome spot with authentic Venezuelan food. It's a shame I don't live close because I'd be in here all of the time. I definitely want to bring my family to try and if you want real Venezuelan food I recommend coming here!

Luckily, we do speak some Spanish as the staff was very limited in English. Neither of us was very hungry so having looked at the menu in advance, we thought we'd get some soup or something small. Turned out that on Sundays, they don't have their regular chicken soup available. However, they do have a Sunday special of Hen Soup (gallina), so that's what I ordered. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich. The soup came in a large bowl. There was ample chicken with various vegetables in it -- some of which I didn't know what they were. I could identify the cabbage and I think a lot of large chunks of either yucca or some sort of potato. The broth was good -- made better when I added some lime juice to it. In addition to the soup, alongside was served a very plain and bland arepa and a hunk of fresh avocado. They also had a small cup of vinegary chopped onions and peppers on the plate. My husband's sandwich turned out to be more like a chicken salad sandwich with a mix of chicken, mayo, and avocado mashed together. He said it was okay. To go, he got a small container of their passion fruit mousse dessert. He ate that later at home. He said that was very good. We were here once many, many years ago. Since then, we've passed by many times and said we needed to return. If we come back, I'd like to try some of their other arepas.
