We could find no other contractor that would touch the project, because you never know the quality of the work already done, and you are kind of assuming responsibility for it. Joe stepped in, fixed some things the previous contractor had screwed up, and finished the bathroom just in time for us to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family visiting. The second time was similar. We had a water line break and it damaged the entire bathroom in the master bedroom. We were displaced from our bedroom and the house was hazardous. Joe was already booked with other projects, but was able to rearrange some of his staff and was able to start fixing the house that very day. Three weeks later, we had a beautiful bathroom. We hadn't anticipated doing another bathroom remodel, and certainly hadn't budgeted for it. I cannot recommend Ivan highly enough. We just completed an addition…read moreto our house in San Jose, which added around 300 sq ft, included a new bathroom and had to tie into the existing structure of our house. We met with several general contractors and got several bids for the project and ended up choosing Ivan. There is a number of examples of why I would recommend Ivan if you are doing a larger project: 1. He is reasonable about budget, he gave us a very reasonable bid and tried his best to stick to that bid as much as possible. Almost all overages in the bid were of my choosing to use different materials or changes to the design throughout it. Ivan always let me know how much more something was going to be and was always reasonable if I asked for more bids from subcontractors to try to get a better price. He is never willing to sacrifice quality for the price, but will actively work on your behalf to get quotes down to where they should be and deny out subcontractors based on price. We would not have been able to complete the project in the price range many people gave us. An example were, one of his framers came in at a higher price than what he bid us, Ivan worked hard to find a different framer that he felt would do the job correctly and he could trust but was back closer to the big price. 2. He is extremely knowledgable about all parts of construction. He is easily able to answer ideas, come up with creative suggestions. His companies name is not a joke, he is EXTREMELY precise. So much that he worries about quality and things being perfect to a point that he would tell me he is changing something or having someone redo something because it wasn't up to his standards when I didn't even notice there was a problem when I saw it. He is able to work with his subcontractors and correct a situation when something is not done right. He holds them accountable and himself accountable for any problems and gets them fixed. Another example of his precision is this was a large permitted project where we added square footage, it was inspected multiple times throughout the project, not a single inspection didn't pass and even the inspectors commented on the quality of his work. In fact I have had multiple see what he has don't and comment on the quality of his work. He is also extremely clean and worked around our schedule which is nice since we had to camp in the living room while our master bedroom was being redone. 3. He is straightforward and an all around nice person to work with and deal with. He is friendly and considerate, this is a great quality to have when you are working with someone over months. 4. He took into consideration our needs out of the project. We wanted things like soundproofing, he made it happen, we wanted certain features of the bathroom, he made it happen. We wanted a modern look, he made it happen. He did everything is a extremely fast paced timeline and I never felt like we were behind schedule, it always felt as if the project was moving along well. In the end the project turned out much better than we had actually imagined and we still marvel at how great it is. When you are spending a good deal of money you fear that if might not be worth it, so it is refreshing to look at it at the end and be overly happy with how it turned out and not worry at all if you made the right decision. I don't know if we would be in the same situation without coming across Ivan, and I can't recommend him highly enough. I have worked with several general contractors before in the past and I have not had as good of an experience as with Ivan, there is so many more remodeling projects I would like to bring him back for when I have the money to do so. We have a cottage on the property whose foundation is partially set into the hillside. There was…read morea French Drain behind the cottage that had failed, allowing water to seep into the crawlspace and create some mold issues. Adam came out, assessed the situation and came up with a plan that wouldn't drain our bank account. He and his crew dug a new French Drain, installed a water barrier on the concrete wall, then installed a 'catch basin' outside which captured the water from the French Drain to take it off the property via yet another drainage system. In addition, they installed a sump pump and drain under the cottage so that if any subsurface water rose up, it would be drained off as well. That was seven years ago and everything is still working as anticipated. Adam and his crew are amazing and their work ethic is among the best we've ever encountered. His attention to detail is second to none and we find ourselves recommending him and his crew to others all the time.

The entire process was super professional from beginning to end. The communication was top notch and every sub that came through was kind, polite, and did the job very well. It is rare to go through such a large remodel and to not have issues pop up....but we didn't have ONE. They showed up when they said they would, they got in touch with us immediately with any issues or questions, and things were resolved on the spot. Our designer, Cody, was fabulous. She "got" my vision from the very beginning. When she did her presentation to show us the colors and design she had come up with, it was as if she saw into my head....she's amazing. She nailed it. Our project manager, Brian, was fantastic...we don't have one complaint. And bonus...they told us approximately five months to do the remodel from beginning to end...and they finished two days before the five month mark. Unheard of in this industry.
