Great chiropractor overall, but particularly his with runners. I really appreciate the comprehensive approach he takes.

I travel quite a bit for work and being in a car and plane all the time has done havoc on my body. I never expected to be going to a chiropractor in my 20s! It's also been tough trying to find a well respected excellent chiropractor with my hectic work schedule. So to start my review: Dr. Powers is amazing. He is genuinely kind-hearted and wants to help the community's wellness. He is a runner himself so he gives me tips on how to take care of myself. He remembers the littlest details and is always so pleasant to talk to. Every time I come in for a visit, I feel like I am visiting my uncle. I have had issues with my lower back and also right shoulder. Also since I am tall, I generally tend to slouch quite a bit as well. With my visits, I can feel the improvements. Over a month of traveling, I am generally aching all over and as soon as I get home, I come see Dr. Powers right away to make it all better. He not only takes care of me, my elderly mom (age 66) goes to him as well. Doesnt matter if you are young and fit, or need care at an elderly age, I highly recommend him! read more

Three years ago I was in an ATV accident fracturing two disc in my lower lumbar. After recovery, things just weren't the same and I experience constant pain affecting me and my daily life. With his thorough examination of my issues I began treatment which put me on a journey to wellness. Within weeks the pain was alleviated and I was able to return to daily activities that I thought were over for me. Dr. Powers is great! He sticks to the basics. I love that he takes a very anti-prescription and more homeopathic stance on health. I first met Dr. Powers when I was training with Austin Fit. He's good with athletes as he's a marathon runner himself. I was so glad that I went in for my evaluation. It changed my life. In only a year he evened out my shoulders (that had a 2" difference), my hips (huge for running), and returned most of the curve to my neck. I am in much less pain and my running has become much easier. I am very impressed. He's a nice guy. He doesn't pressure me into getting the treatment, only lets me know what benefit it is to me. He's very up front with what is and is not covered by my insurance, negotiating prices for those items not covered. He also has good bedside manner. I'm not a huge talker, but he never makes me feel uncomfortable talking to him. I recommend Dr. Powers and Powers Family Wellness to everyone who has even minor issues that could be related to their spine! read more

I would never get tired of recommending Dr. Powers! Many people has listened to me and all of them agree that his phenomenal!!! My whole family has been treated by him. First I came in 2013 cause I had this horrible pain due to pregnancy. After 15 months of delivering my baby, the pain was still there and even getting worse cause I'm the main caretaker of my teenage son with physical disabilities. The relief I felt after one week of treatment was unbelievable. I regretted not going sooner to see him!!! My back stopped hurting but I still continued coming for maintenance. The improvement was so wonderful that my skeptical husband decided to try as well. He couldn't believe the difference himself!!! He continued coming to see Dr. Powers for 3 years until he started a new job in San Marcos. He keeps telling me how disappointed he is for not being able to continue his treatment. My kids love him as well. My son with physical disabilities has mentioned that his neck stops hurting when he goes to visit him and my daughter has visited Dr. Powers since she was about 18 months old. As a runner for a lot of years I have to say that I have really stressed my body. I had only been to a chiropractor once before and never went back. My left ankle had been bothering me and swelling in a soft spot, the ortho doctor couldn't figure it out, the massage therapist said it was something else. He has this laser, doesn't hurt and at first, I thought it was bogus. I have to say I ran a half marathon within 2 weeks after going to him regularly. Dr. Dan Powers is a wonderful, patient and caring chiropractor. He has been able to adjust me to where i can easily turn to the left where I didn't before when I sleep. I have referred him to my hair dresser who doesn't have any health insurance, he has worked with her close to 8 months now, and I have to say, she said with all her standing on her feet, she too has felt a major difference. That John B. guy, well, apparently his health isn't important enough, Dr. Dan Powers would not have taken on Jessica if he was that way, he tries to work with each individual based on their income level. This place is incredible. I have just completed my third visit and developed a treatment plan and I'm pleased. I say treatment plan because, yes, I need that much help. I have insurance to make it very affordable but I get the idea that even without insurance they'll find a way to work with you if you need the help. They're giving me advice for long-term self-care, explaining every procedure and every cost and answering any question I have. I did spend a good chunk of time and money on some fancy 6th street office because they were so highly rated but no more. When I came to THIS clinic though I knew I had found a team that REALLY cares. I'll be sticking with them for treatments all year long and then we'll see what kind of progress I've made. Excellent doctor of chiropractor. He is also working with a friend of mine, who is not a runner. I have a problem with my ankle every now and then, he has used his laser technology on me and it has worked wonders. A while ago, my dad began chiropractic at powers family wellness center after a road trip and grew fond of it, and when I started drum line, he decided to put me in chiropractic, and after like a week or 2, I was an inch taller! And doctor Powers is a great guy and it is always very comforting to go into the office knowing you will feel much better afterward!
