I was extremely disappointed with this Powerhouse Gym. There is a creepy old guy that stalks women as we work out. There is no leadership, no accountability , and no one to help you if you want an issue solved. I cancelled my membership because of these things and they even screwed that up. Three months after I cancelled, they withdrew 3 months worth of membership fees plus a late fee. When I brought this to their attention, no one would credit the money back. They were only able to " make a note" in my old acount, and wait for the manager to credit me the funds. I was forced to close my credit card, get a new one, change any and all of my direct debit payments and accounts, etc. The manager took more than ten business days to respond and reimburse me the funds they took from my account. And, it involved me having to make multiple trips to this establishment demanding I be reimbursed before the manager resolved the issue. read more

I workout at this gym as my friend's gues. I was blown away by how awesome this gym i. It had various qua pieces of gym equipment, great atmospher, the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable as was the staff. The members took their workouts very serious and they were very respectful. if you want to go to a great gym, this is the place for you. read more

Been a member before and am one again (yeah I was a lazy fat 4$$) and now on track to getting in better shape again. Would give a 5 star rating but the other day when I had to uh do my business lets say, one of the stalls was occupied and the other one had the lock broken off it. So after I could not do my business there, I had to run all the way to Chik-fil-a and they had been occupied, so then I had to drive to Aldis just so I could $h1t. Also, the spacing for the door of the stalls and the wall part of it, was too wide so every time I had to use the bathroom, I would put toilet paper in the gap that was too wide. They also need to put a divider between the urinals, because I don't want some weirdo looking at my junk when I am taking a p1$$. read more

Nice and clean. The gym offered towels for members, which was nice because I would often forget my own. Classes are included in the price of membership, which was a big bonus. I really enjoyed the spin classes that I took there. However, the biggest detractor was the amount of broken cardio equipment. For the price I was paying (it was one of the most expensive gyms in the area and probably still is), I really found it frustrating that at any given time, at least half of the ellipticals and half of the treadmills were out of order. This went on for months. Then the gym changed hands and I was hoping there would be some improvement. The new owners had some of the broken equipment removed, but didn't seem to be replacing it with any speed. There was a point where they only had five working treadmills and three working ellipticals. Not a really good ratio when you have the after-work crowd paired up with the New Years' Resolution mob. Another issue was that the new owners would have their young children wiping down the machines on the weekends. This on its own would have been fine, but I really don't like a little kid wiping down the machine that I'm on while I'm running, especially if I have to step on one of the side platforms to take a break for a second and their little hand is there. That was just a bad thing for any gym owner to be doing and they should have instructed their kids to not wipe down anything that was actively being used. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was witnessing one of the new owners berating all of the class instructors over a spin bike that needed repair. She was rude, loud and did it right in front of all the members who were there at the time. It was truly bad form and left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't want my hard earned dollars to go to someone who was clearly ignorant and treated their employees poorly. That was the last time I went to Powerhous. I let my membership run out and joined a different gym that costed $40 less per month and had mostly working equipment. read more

I was in town with family for the week. This gym offers a $30 two week trial. The owner was nice enough to half it since I was only here for the week. The gym itself was amazing. Every machine imaginable. The staff is super nice and there's people of every level workout out. Overall, 10/10 experience. read more

Worked out here for the first time today. I'm from out of town. I have to say the first thing in that struck me was how clean this gym is compared to other gyms I have been to. The equipment seems to be cleaned everyday and well maintained. The locker room is small but it has what you need, lockers and a sauna. They have a good assortment of equipment from barbells, cardio, and cable resistant machines. You well get the job done here. The music is okay. I usually use headphones. I recommend this gym to locals and out towers the only down side is it's pricey. 25$ for two week pass and 34$ monthly fee if you sign up. They let you have a day pass for 10$ that credits towards your two week pass or monthly sign up that's pretty awesome. read more

Was in town for a couple of weeks this summer and my son and I wanted to keep up our workouts. We found Powerhouse Gym on the Internet and they had a 2 week pass that worked out great. I was a little worried at first because of all the construction on the nearby buildings, but once I found the front door, I couldn't have been happier. The front desk people and trainers were very friendly, the gym was in great shape and was constantly being cleaned, and they had a ton of equipment (free weights, dumbbells, cable machines) as well as a good variety of cardio stations. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone who happens to be in the Cambridge area. read more
