Top notch gym. Great people and unlike the bizarrely left wing "Planet Fitness" this place is truly…read more"Judgement Free" (Planet Fitness tagline). I am mentioning the competition because I see great gyms like this having to compete with gimmicky places that are not at all conserved with fitness (see one of 100+ videos on YouTube about this). They clientele ranges from people who are totally out of shape to Elite athletes. The great thing about the severely out of shape clientele is that they don't stay that way for long (awesome). I heard someone talking about how being in the Gold's Gym Bridgewater environment really helped then get in shape, a place where people mind there own business but are totally willing to help if asked. The member had previously been at "Planet Fitness" and had no access to any real guidance and were (literally) fed pizza at this Walmart of Fitness (the high cost of low price). It is this conversation I had with a member that made me think to compare and contrast these businesses with VERY different motives again, look up Planet Fitness on YouTube, if it sounds like I have something against them it's because I do, I don't like seeing people getting mislead and taken advantage of. A true nurturing environment is one where people who are competitive bodybuilders/true athletes are totally willing to (if asked) to help out anyone who asks and those that are new are welcomed by the training staff and members alike, just a great vibe. I myself came in pretty out of shape and in a few months I am on my way back to being in great shape, I attribute a lot of this to the top-notch equipment and pleasant environment of this gym. The environment/energy of a place like this is extremely important because you have to A) want to be there and B) feel motivated while you are, do not underestimate this, it is a huge reason that if you want to look good, great or totally ripped you need to be comfortable and motivated in a place that is serious about your fitness.

This location is so clean and friendly! After traveling to other Lifetime's in the area this one…read moresupersedes all of them. I take the extra time to drive to this location even though it's not the most convenient. The cleanliness and the atmosphere make it worth it. The women's locker room is always tidy, the indoor pool is clear and doesn't smell like mold, the outdoor pool is like a spa. I love the layout of the fitness floor and how open it is. Yes it gets crowded but you should expect that at any gym during certain times. What really gets 5 starts though is the kids academy. The whole staff there is really awesome. They take care of kids like their own. I feel safe and confident leaving my little ones there while I exercise.

I joined Life Time Bridgewater as a premium member, paying nearly $300 per month. As a former…read moretennis player, I was excited to learn pickleball since it is the primary racquet sport offered at this location. Unfortunately, my experience with the pickleball program has been extremely disappointing. While the facility itself is beautiful, the culture on the pickleball courts is the opposite of what I expected from a premium club. The staff came across as gatekeepers rather than customer service professionals. Instead of making members feel welcome, I often felt as though they were deciding whether I was "allowed" to play. As a paying premium member, I should not feel like participation is a privilege granted by staff. The skill assessment process is another major concern. Members are required to pay for an assessment to access different levels of play, yet there is little transparency about how ratings are determined. In my experience, the results did not reflect actual on-court performance, and there was no meaningful explanation of the evaluation criteria. A player can compete successfully against intermediate-level players and still be placed in the beginner category without a clear explanation. A transparent, objective rating system would be much fairer. Reservations can also be canceled without meaningful notice or explanation, making it difficult for members to plan their schedules. After speaking with other members, I found that several expressed similar frustrations about the management of the pickleball program. People join Life Time because it is a premium club, and the membership fees reflect that. Members deserve professionalism, respect, transparency, and consistent customer service. The facilities are outstanding, but the management and customer experience of the Bridgewater pickleball program fell far short of the standards I expected.

The employees are kind and…read morehelpful and they don't try to sell you crap you don't want like extra personal training hours, etc. When I signed up for my membership they did ask if I wanted to do personal training but a simple no was good enough. They also offer child supervision in a large play room which is good for those with kids - so no excuses for you stay at home mom's and couch potato dad's. The place is three floors. The locker rooms are on the second floor along with a spin class room. Half way up is another room. It's under utilized at the moment but I guess it could be used for stretching or other calisthenics. Then up on the third floor is the main gym. Has a good variety of free weights, machines, and cardio. There is a cardio movie room which is sweet , they Change the movie every day and the the movies do get recycled but it seems long enough before you get bored. Recently they played Grown Ups, fast and furious (the latest one), and the internship. The dumbbells go up to 115+ which is great and there are many flat and interchangeable benches. Some machines they are missing are the standing leg curl and hack squat. Seems to be commonly absent especially since a lot of people skip leg day. The general upkeep is good. I've rarely ever seen machine broken for longer than one day, but the supplies in the locker room like hand soap tends to always be empty. I'd say about 20% of the time there was actually soap in the dispenser (this is way I can't give it 5 stars. That and the three floors set up is a bit awkward).

Machines are constantly broken and they'll be broken for months at a time. Cardio section is weak as half the treadmills are no longer there. The 8ish that remain about another 3 ish are broken. Instead of throwing out broken yoga mats they'll chop off the peeled parts so you'll be working on half a yoga mat. This place is dirty. If you look at the machines, the mirrors, and just in general it's dirty and dusty. It's really clear whoever is funding the place lacks the care to maintain it decently. For pros- it's cheap. This is will def be the cheapest gym in the area (rightfully so do you see the cons I wrote + other reviews). The staff is always very kind they do their job well. The music is kind of good sometimes I like listening to that rather than my own music.

At Strength and Honor Fitness, it will make you drool, sweat in places that you didn't know can sweat, AND just as a caution, you probably don't want to eat an hour before coming for a session here or else you might find your meal beautifully displayed on the ground. This is the perfect gym to kick your butt into shape! I have a love-hate relationship with this place. I wonder why I put myself through, the gym owner and instructor, Matt Keller's ever creative personal hell... But when the results begin to show, I know it's all worth it to suck up the pain, so I won't have to suck it in later when I'm wearing that gorgeous dress! I say, give it a try. Once she finally arrived at the desk and I was sitting right in front of her, she barely acknowledged me. I walked up to the desk and she just told me to write my name down. I told her it was my first time there and she pointed in different directions to quickly explain where the amenities. Unfortunately, there was minimal effort to help someone attending their first class at this studio. Additionally, I had a simple email issue that their help desk needed to resolve so I could finally book my additional classes. Ultimately, I had to call multiple times and ask for the reference number of the ticket so I could resolve the issue myself. I'll give 2 stars because the coaches I've experienced (Amy, Becca, Brett, and Brendan) all had great classes. I was hoping for the best, but I will not be returning to OTF somerville.

Not only is this place close to where my family lives, but it's beautiful! Even though I only go to 2-3 classes here a year, the owner always remembers me and greets me warmly. The instructors could not be nicer or more professional, but the workouts are always well planned and fun. I also appreciate the gentle hands-on assists to correct my form and find them very helpful. I've noticed that instructors tend to call people out by name as well, which is very motivating and frankly pretty impressive. As mentioned earlier, the studio is beautiful, immaculately clean (this applies to the bathroom as well) and well stocked with tubes, balls and different weights. I can be quite a judgmental germophobe at times, but it's so clean in the barre room that I did not think twice about allowing my hair to touch the carpeting or using a studio mat. A few other nice features are the water bottle filling station, cubbies for storing your stuff, a boutique with some super cute workout gear and easy parking in a huge lot. The schedule offers classes at many times throughout the day and for all different levels. If I lived closer, I would definitely be a member here!
