They gave me a 3 hour window for the appt, and then informed me via text message 20 minutes before the end of the appt window that they had over-scheduled and wouldn't be able to make it. I would not recommend.

Tim actually screwed off the light switches and sockets to figure out which ones had old wiring. He had graph paper and drew out a blue print of my house marking where all the work needed to be done. He spent over an hour checking things and talking with me to ensure he knew exactly what all was needed. Scott and another guy came out to do the work. They were great and cleaned up each day. These guys are going to be slower to come out to give an estimate and slower to schedule, but if you can wait a bit, these are the best electricians in the SLC area.

He was so patient and I first told him what I wanted done which was only my outlets updated and a light fixture installed, the vision I had for my place and then we went room by room and discussed ideas to keep the vision throughout my place. He then was able to help me get me a price that was reasonable and fit within my budget. He was able to get the job done all in one day and in the same week of reaching out to him. I was kept in the loop through out the process and if any problems occurred. So great and loved being so involved in every step of the way! I am so excited to hire him again to have him help me update the rest of my place!

This was not a good experience…read more Giving 3 stars because the electrician who actually came out and did the work was really nice and I could tell he worked hard. Scott also realized I might write a review and sent back $100, but the principle of deceit and overcharging does not change. Scott, unlike the electrician he contracted to do the work, was not nice to work with. He quoted me $220 for each outlet to be installed in our home. I asked for confirmation it would still be $220 because when they came out to quote they mentioned it would be difficult, he told me it would stay the same. It was a difficult job, that I can understand, Scott then proceeded to message me the next morning informing me the price had changed to $340. WHAT? I understand that quotes change but not by 50% without prior approval. He then proceeded to try to claim my fiancé approved it (NOPE!!) and then tried to guilt me that most people would be ok with paying it, knowing it was difficult. I'm not trying to be mean, I want to pay people for their work, but I also asked him for an itemized quote for labor and materials and he was unable to provide it... because he probably knew his initial charge was way more even than than a reasonable hourly rate. Honestly, the worst tradesmen business I've worked with. I waited 1.5 weeks to write this because I wanted to make sure I wasn't just hurt. But can confirm this would be the LAST electrician I would ever recommend to someone.

This guy is a swindler! First of all, we got a new water heater from this guy(Michael) 3 years ago…read more He tried to charge me over $5,000.00. My friend called the local warehouse with the info off the box and found out how bad he was ripping us off. He ended up taking off $2,000.00 after being confronted but I still paid over 3 grand for a water heater. Fast forward.....Last week that new water heater quits working and the only reason I called him back is because he would have all of the warranty info etc. He said the parts would be under warranty but he would have to charge me labor for the work. BE AWARE! He charges $75.00 "truck charge" and that is per day. If he doesn't finish in one day it's another $75.00 each trip. Then he charges $125.00 an hour! He comes out and tears it apart. He says it has been leaking for years. I questioned how it had been installed. He blew up and was just going to leave me with a torn apart mess. He said " maybe you would like to just install it yourself". I asked if he was serious? He said he needed to go to the warehouse and get a part. When I asked what the price of the repair was going to be he kept saying "I charge BY THE HOUR NOT BY THE JOB!" He comes back and installs the part. He said now, it needs another part and I need to go back to the warehouse. He calls me and says the warehouse was closed so he would be returning tomorrow. So, here comes the second $75.00 truck charge. I guess you need a box truck to pick up a sensor? I told him this was all ridiculous! I do flooring and stated that I would never treat a customer this way. His reply was "well, you run your business how you want and I will run mine like I want to!" In the end he handed me a bill for $880.00 for a repair on a 3 year old water heater that he charged me over 3 grand for. I blew up! He relented and said ok, just for you I will reduce it to $500.00 does that sound ok? I said "no, it doesn't but your in control here". I paid him and told him to leave. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Cameron and Caleb at Aloha Electric have each done different jobs for us now and we've been super…read moreimpressed with their passion for doing things well and making things look nice at the same time. One of several of the projects they recently helped us with was correcting a shortcut made by the electrician (from another company) who wired our home during its construction. Our home-build electrician neglected to make our whole-home surge protection unit visible without needing to remove an electrical panel using tools. Whole-home surge protectors should be checked regularly to ensure they are still protecting your home (the green protected status light should be on). Aloha moved and attached this protector unit from the inside of the electrical panel to the exterior of the electrical panel (the way the protectors are designed to be), so now we can actually see it by simply walking by it. It was a relatively simple and quick fix, but a good example of Aloha noticing a shortcut our other electrician took and offering to fix it/improve it for us. Aloha doesn't take shortcuts. They treat your home as if it were their home. I wish we would have had Aloha Electric wire our entire home at construction. They care soooo much more about doing a good job and what would be optimal for the owner of the home. We have a lot more house-wide electrical projects that we'll be using Aloha for. Mostly correcting things that were too complicated for our home-build electrician, who complained that things like fan and light timer switches, dimmer switches, and USB outlets are too complicated and tried to persuade us either not to do them in all or to do less of them. Even though we had planned out the locations (with specific usages in mind) years in advance and indicated these types of things on our home's detailed electrical floor plan, many did not get done the way we requested. I wish we had found an electrician like Aloha who would listen and shared our vision sooner. Aloha has done great with each of the jobs they've done for us so far. It's clear they take pride in what they do and aim to give you what you want for a reasonable cost. I would highly recommend them for big, tiny, and anything in between electrical jobs.
