Have been going to power cycle 2-3 times a week for a month now and have had an amazing experience. I am newer to cycling and intense cardio in general and I love love love this. First, booking is extremely easy with their power cycle app. You can see what type of ride it's going to be, who the instructor is, and even pick your bike location in the room which is great. When you arrive, you are always met by a friendly face at the front desk. They'll check you in, remind you of your bike location, and offer you the shoes that clip into the bike. I was hesitant to wear the rented shoes but they seem to do a really good job cleaning them. Their facility overall, from the lockers to the bikes to the bathrooms, is always very clean and bright. I love the white minimalist aesthetic. After going into the cycling room, you'll realize the aesthetic is more moody. The room is dimly lit with a purple glow and the lights change throughout the ride which is kind of party like and fun. There are screens that show you how fast + heavy you're cycling throughout the class, and it's a good guide to stay on track for getting the most out of your workout. I love that it's easy and intuitive to understand the information on the board. Energy is always high and competitive, yet everyone is super friendly and motivating. It's so hard to find group exercise like this where you feel comfortable to show up the best you can, even when the class may be cycling faster/heavier than you, so I love the environment powercycle has cultivated. The music mixes are amazing- there's something in each mix for everyone! I love hip hop Saturday's with Ty, Marissa + Sam dual rides, and Marissa's strength classes (taught in a separate room using barbell weights). After class the instructors lead you through light stretching for your legs then you go back to the lobby to return your shoes/towel, grab your things and you're all set. You'll receive an email from Powercycle immediately after your class with your statistics attached. They also keep your stats in the app under your profile. I love this feature as it allows me to track my performance and growth. To be honest, I've never been one for spin classes. Usually the bike doesn't fit me quite right (I am a petite woman, 5 ft 2 in), the instructor is difficult to follow, and afterwards I just don't feel like I want to come back. PowerCycle didn't make me feel that way at all! I took an 8:30 class with Ryan on Saturday morning. First things first, they do a lot to make you feel welcome. When I arrived, there was a locker already reserved for me with a little greeting card and bike shoes inside. I noticed right away that the exterior space/check-in area was bright and clean. The interior room with the bikes was well ventilated with lots of fans running. Ryan walked me to my bike and helped me get set up so that the bike was comfortable and an appropriate size for my arms and legs. He also showed me how to change the gears for more or less resistance and explained the different positions (sitting, standing, etc.). During class, Ryan had a great energy and was super motivating and funny. At one point, he even started dancing with abandon around the room to the music while we were all "sprinting" on our bikes, which made for great comic relief while I was sweating my a-- off. His music choices were also spot on: a mix of top 40, rap and hip hop, and even a little country thrown in for fun. The hour definitely felt like a full workout but went by fast. I'm no novice to spin studios. I live in Chicago (travel to this area for work frequently) and just moved from Austin, Texas. Both of those places thrive on a bustling studio economy and PowerCycle can compete with them all. PowerCycle has everything you would need: - modern studio - sweet staff - challenging class - sometimes a pup is hanging out The class made it hard to get out of bed the next morning, and that's the way it should be. You're going to work your booty off, and you're going to be glad you showed up. The studio is partly-owned by a woman who took a risk, and I genuinely hope this place never closes. I'm not sure they understand how impactful it is to the riders, and newcomers, for a front desk to be so welcoming. I had a great time at PowerCycle this morn! I actually work at a different spin studio, but my gf asked me to join her here for a free class and I'm totally open to trying all different spots so I did. That being said, of course I'm slightly bias and comparative hehehe. Initial thoughts walking in: the place is bright, clean, with good energy (which is needed at 5:45am!). I always appreciate staff that are helpful and friendly, which both the ladies working today were great. The bikes are different than what I am used to but I had no reservations about them at all, I still got a kick ass workout. Happy that my TIEM spin shoes clipped right in to their bikes as well, so I was good to go. The class was based around the music tracks and definitely pumped you up (again, needed at 6am!), and the instructor, Lindsay, made it really easy to follow along. There are screens hanging in front of the classroom that monitor your progress so it's nice if you want to push or compete against yourself (or others in class ). I join Power Cycle about six months ago and have really enjoyed my experience! The atmosphere is bright and positive but also filled with people who want to work hard. I would love to see them do a "challenge" similar to other studios where you complete X number of class in X days and can win PowerCycle Swag! I would also like them to do an intro to BodyPump class because I'm super intimidated by the class and have no clue what I'm getting into! Looking forward to when Pilates makes it to Tosa as well. My life is better because of PowerCycle! I found this spin studio and tried their "first class free" ride and have not looked back since. Since I joined, they have added BodyPump strength classes and Pilates classes which is a great variety! I love that it has become more than just spin because it's helped me get in various types of workouts. Both studios are spotless, new, and clean. The fact that there is no spin shoe rental charge is amazing as well! Just as yelp says, "as good as it gets." I have done other cycle studios and workouts and Powercycle gets you pumped up. Whether it's a spin class at 5:00 AM, a Body Pump class at 8:00 AM.. or both, you're bound to get a great workout in. The studio is clean, bright, and has everything you'll need for your ride (no shoe rental fee). If you do decide to buy some gear or shoes with clips that fit their bikes - they've got you covered as well. Sometimes, you may even catch a golden doodle walking around (or 2.. or 3). I joined about a year ago and go multiple times per week. Favorite instructors are HIIT with Jeni (catch her in Shorewood or Tosa) and Lindsay at 6:00 PM or 5:00 AM on Fridays. I've been to countless cycling and workout studios, and PowerCycle hits it out of the park. PowerCycle treads every line perfectly -- their instructors are motivating, but not overly enthusiastic to the point of being annoying, their studio is beautifully branded, but it is clearly home-grown, and their music is upbeat and new, but they still play familiar tracks. Their bikes are perfectly maintained and calibrated and their owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and down to Earth. It's awesome to see a local business thrive like this one seems to. I've gone to a lotttt of spin studios around the U.S. over the years. I'm pretty picky about how I think a spin class should be done and this place nails it. They focus on your RPMs matching the beat of the music, have tracks focusing on hills, tracks focusing on speed, in the saddle and out of the saddle work. They also have a target wattage every now and then that I think is really key to make sure you're working hard enough and challenging that resistance. The focus here is really on the spinning, and I love that. Their prices are great and the studio is really beautiful. I live in the Third Ward right near Spire, another spin studio, and I will now make the drive to this studio instead. Kind of hard to explain, but Spire seems too choreographed in a way - it's like you have to dance on your bike if that makes sense. And a lot of unnecessary movement when it should really be about spinning. PowerCycle is a thousand times better and worth the drive for me. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a great cardio workout! read more

Very Cool Studio, the owners were super friendly and there dog Kash was awesome. The studio was modern with accents of dark wood and very clean, you can tell someone spent some time thinking about how to put this place together. Their bikes (Kaiser M3i)were really comfortable, which was a pleasant surprise as most bikes don't fit me well. They had an option to buy polar H10 heart rate monitors which i thought was cool and they sync right to the bikes. I had my own polar H7 and it worked great.I ended up coming on a Friday and they played a great mix of throwback jams. Kayla our instructor had great energy and did a great job of keeping us motivated. I liked having the display of how I was doing compared to everyone else in the class in real time. Also, the prices were reasonable and it was easy to register online.I would highly recommend Power Cycle if you are looking for a fun cycling workout in a monde clean studio read more

I really enjoyed my first class, and will be back for more! The studio is modern and clean, with showers and lockers for your convenience. They have cycling shoes you can use at no extra charge, while most places you have to have your own shoes. The studio itself was fairly large, with Keiser bikes, with weights clipped on for when classes do arm workouts as well. The instructor, Carly, was great - great playlist, very motivating, and kept the class clipping along. I've taken 90 minute cycling classes, and 60 minutes at other places, and much prefer the 45 minute format, as I like to get in and out, but still get a great workout. My only small criticism is that the bikes are pretty close to each other - I could almost touch the people to the right and left of me when sitting. A few more inches on each side would be great! read more
