Train Moment has quickly become my new favorite fitness studio! Working out is definitely an important part of my lifestyle, and after having a baby not too long ago, I finally have the flexibility in my schedule to get back into a routine/attend classes. Catch me here a lot in the future! The 'strength forward' fitness experience is exactly the kind of movement I enjoy! These are full body, group workouts that run about 45-50 minutes total. In that time, you go through three zones: two that are strength-focused (the bench & the rig), and one that is cardio/high-intensity focused (the climber). The climber is a new-to-me machine but I love it, as it's low-impact training that skyrockets your heart rate. I really enjoy weight training so the bench zone, which includes dumbbells and med balls, is really great. As is the rouge zone where you'll find a pull-up rack, kettle bells, and resistant bands. The coach leading the class takes a few minutes in the beginning to walk through and explain each set, so it's really straightforward! Each session hones in on different parts of the body, the number of reps vary from class-to-class, etc. It's great that every time you show up you're getting a different workout. As for the facility itself, it's a vibe! Entering the lobby, it's bright, white, clean and simple. Same with the lockroom/bathrooms; exceptionally clean and modern. But then when you enter the training room, it's completely the opposite: dim lighting, all-black-everything, including blackout blinds that lower when class begins. Badass energy, ya know? Also, don't feel intimidated because there is such a strong sense of community and inclusivity here. All of the coaches I've experienced are high-energy, motivating, and super approachable. Thanks for the positive vibes and a great sweat!

The studio features stunning cream city brick walls that give it so much character, soft flooring that feels supportive during every movement, and even a beautiful view of the river that makes classes feel peaceful and grounding. The amenities are amazing and make everything so convenient. There are lockers for your belongings, three spacious changing rooms, two bathrooms, and thoughtful extras like hair ties and deodorant if you forget something. Everything you need for class is there and perfectly organized-weights, bands, core balls, and sweat towels so you can just show up and focus on your workout. The instructors are truly exceptional. My favorites are Xiomary and Alexandra. They bring such positive energy, clear instruction, and thoughtful corrections to every class. They offer modifications and advancements so everyone can feel successful, and they genuinely care about your experience. You leave feeling strong, supported, and empowered. The community at Barre3 Milwaukee is something special. It's inclusive, encouraging, and never intimidating. The workouts are balanced and intentional--strength, cardio, and mindfulness all in one--and the playlists are always motivating without being overwhelming. I just wish they had better parking!

I live in the third ward and am able to easily walk here everyday. The 5fh floor weight room has all of the necessary equipment, and the 2nd floor turf area is a great place to stretch, warm up, only do dynamic exercises. The locker rooms could use some updating, but I'm not picky, so this gym has been great. Also, everyone is super nice here. The East Bank community seems to be tight knit and always have activities to take part in!

It's not a bad gym for the money but you do get a mix of shall I say different backgrounds in here…read moreand sometimes those different backgrounds think it's appropriate to play loud music out loud on their phones and then wear shoes in the sauna (both of which are expressly forbidden according to a sign literally posted inside the sauna), and then act like YOU'RE the assh*le when you politely but firmly ask them not to. One individual was snarky af asking about how much I spent on earbuds that didn't noise cancel and I was about ready to tell him that earbuds cost like $15 at Walgreens so why don't you have some but I'm not trying to fight in the sauna, I'm trying to relax. This isn't a I'm-in-your-neighborhood or you're-in-my-neighborhood kind of thing, this is a mixed space, a common ground, and we ALL need to recognize that and act right. The rules are the rules. Don't play loud music on your phone in the sauna. I don't know HOW this establishment is going to enforce those rules, but they NEED to enforce those rules. Inconsiderate people CAN NOT just keep being allowed to be inconsiderate in mixed spaces. I'm sorry. That needs to end.

I used a complimentary day pass to workout out the downtown WAC. I had a YMCA membership but have…read morealways been curious about the WAC and how if might differ/be better, etc. My initial impression was, I'm in a gym on a college campus. It was busy when I went (5:30pm on a Monday) which made getting a leg or arm circuit done on the weight machines a bit tricky. Now, if you wanted to use an elliptical or other cardio equipment those machines were mostly open. Some things I absolutely loved about this WAC location: The indoor track inside (9 laps = one mile). In the winter, it's like you're walking in a snow globe. There are huge floor to ceiling windows that offer great city views. The staff! Very warm, helpful, patient and kind. The steam room and sauna in the locker rooms. Keys to lockers are provided as well as towels and there's shaving cream in the locker room showers. Free parking so long as you download the parking app used here and scan the QR code before leaving the gym (parking is free for up to 3 hours). Olympic size/caliber weight room on the second floor (this gym is only two floors and does not have a gym). After my one day workout sesh, will I be back? If I lived downtown on the east side of the city then yes I would hop on the WAC train and member up. But being a 15 minute drive from downtown, and not always in the mood to workout after work I don't think I will be calling this gym "mine" any time soon. Regardless, it was a lot of fun to try this location out and to see the nice amenities the WAC has to offer downtown.

While one of the smaller WACs, it has lovely views of the city from its location on the 6th floor of the 411 building. Theres an indoor track that runs along the outside of the gym, and a second floor (the 5th) has more weight training areas and another group exercise studio. They do a lot of classes if you're into that sort of thing, and while the equipment isn't super fancy it gets the job done and there isn't usually too long of a weight fot anything. The great thing about the WAC is I consider it a "full service" type of club with free lockers, towels, coffee, very nice showers and other services (for a fee ) like PT and massage. The WAC is more expensive than a planet fitness but you definitely get what you pay for here No pool sadly at this site but there is a steam room (and maybe a sauna?) In the locker room. Nice friendly environment to work out in - 5 stars!
