We recently relocated from N Salinas over to Seaside, and for the first time we decided to let the pros handle it! I found this company after a quick Google search, and my call and concerns where quickly answered by manager Johnny. Easy to book and within the evening we had our movers scheduled. They offer a pretty reasonable hourly rate with a three hour minimum, and for us it included two capable movers who brought their own XL truck and gear. Our moving specialists where very professional but also friendly. They walked the house first room to room to go over details, special items, etc They worked to pack our entire three bedroom house, and where pretty quick! We have a lot of mirrored fragile furniture, as well as music equipment and fine artworks that where a concern of ours. Both movers wrapped and moved these pieces with the utmost skill and care. For an extra layer of complexity it was all out downpour rain about one hour into the move, but the guys where on top of it and so careful to not damage any of our water sensitive pieces. They also prepared to tape off our entire new carpeted area to protect the floor, very mindful! I jumped in a few times to help with boxes but honestly we basically could sit back and finish packing the small stuff whole these guys tetrised our stuff into the truck. If you've considered getting help moving don't even second guess hiring these guys! The entire move, pack and unpacking, was completed that day in less than 8 hours. When we arrived they unpack the truck box and piece at a time, along everything to the room it needs to be in and can even help reassemble furniture and heavy pieces. UPDATE: 3 years later and I used Power Moves again, but for a long distance move 350+ miles away. This move was a much bigger move than I've ever done before but Power Moves handled it with ease. The first day was spent loading the truck and although I anticipated a looong day, they had my entire apartment loaded up in just over 2 hours. The next day they met us at the storage unit and although I was CONVINCED it wouldn't all fit, they got everything in the unit with room to spare in less than an hour. From start to finish, Johnny and Daniel from Power Moves were professional and courteous. They arrived right on time and ready to go. We hired them to move our daughter out of her two story, upstairs condo in Capitola into a house about a mile away. I never heard one complaint about all the stairs or about disassembly and reassembly of her Ikea furniture. They treated all her belongings like antiques. We couldn't have been more impressed. As with any move, it seems there is always a mountain of trash bags and "dump items". Johnny and Daniel finished the move by hauling all that trash to the landfill for a very reasonable fee. We have hired many different moving companies over the years from the big guys to other small companies and we have never had such an easy move. We rented a POD (NEVER do that) and the POD company basically didn't show up and long story short, we needed our stuff moved out of the POD and into a moving truck 2.5 hours away in just a few hours. We planned to move from one side of town to the other and I really did not want to hire a moving company. I found this company on Yelp and within hours received a return call with a quote and appointment scheduled. We had spent months packing our personal items and only had heavy furniture left in the home to move. There was a three hour minimum, but it was estimated it would take approximately three hours. The day of the move they arrived and moved very quickly to get all our heavy furniture out of the home (it was a two story.) They disassembled the furniture with no issues. We arrived at the new home and they were so efficient re-assembling and moving the heavy furniture up another two story. They made it so easy, I regret spending so much time packing our items. It appeared they would have been more efficient. They were professional, but also friendly. We will definitely recommend them to our neighbors and friends and will also keep them in mind for our next move. read more

These guys were fantastic. I had to put my stuff in a storage unit before I had PCS orders. They were professional, courteous, and timely. They were also about about 33% cheaper than the competition! They got everything squared away in my unit, and when PCS time came around, since power moves had done such a great job packing up, my move out of my second floor 10 by 20 unit was over by lunchtime. Johnny and his guys provided shuttle service to move items from my parents house and load into another moving trailer and were game on through the move. From the initial phone call with Johnny he was very professional and provided an immediate quote along with proof of insurance. When the guys got there (ON TIME), I asked them if we could remove an old jukebox full of 45's from the basement by lifting it 4' and out a window, they guys were like "LET'S DO THIS", and it was done in 15 minutes. Needed last minute help with large pieces of furniture and some appliances for a local move. Called Thursday and they were able to make an appointment for Sunday! The price they quoted was very reasonable and the communication was great - they emailed a confirmation right away and even sent a text the day before to remind me. They were punctual and both guys worked nonstop the entire time. They were very careful and handled my furniture with expert care, blanket and shrink wrapping everything. Hit a little bump when they went to install the dryer at the new location, as they didn't have the right tool to shorten the tube that attaches to the duct in order for the dryer to fit in the space. We tried a local hardware store but they were closed since it was also a holiday, but the guys offered to run to the nearest big box store and were back in less than 40 min to finish the job. If you're looking for a professional mover who is reasonably priced, Power Moves is who you should call. I highly recommend them!! read more
