I was looking for house cleaning and getting a quote from Merry Maids. I live in downtown Covington, so there's ample street parking in front of my house, but I can't get zoned for a driveway (believe me, I've tried and I would love to have a drive way). Merry Maids then indirectly cancels by not ever replying again. I called around 2:20 to see if I should expect them and they picked up then immediately hung up the phone. Lol. I also can't find anything on their website or policy stating that you need to have private parking available for them, interesting policy for a company servicing a city area. Their lack of communication to customers is very telling insight of the company. I can't imagine the cleaning would've been worth it.

Crime is a part of living here. Drug dealers use the parking lot to meet customers. Armed robbers have run through the building's unlocked doors while being chased by the police. Criminals in the neighborhood use the staircases at night to dump stolen purses and wallets. Mailboxes get broken into frequently and packages left in front of doors are stolen. Garages flood when it rains because of unmaintained gutters and roofing and the garage doors do not seal at the bottom. The heat is regulated and is either shut off in cold months to save the property owner money or when it's on, it's so hot in the apartments that you have to open the doors and windows in the winter. Beacon Apartments LLC won't secure the entryways with locks or install cameras to protect their residents despite many problems and dangers presented while living here. Their interest in protecting their liability far outweighs the need for a safe and secure place for you to live. The quality of residents has gone completely belly up. Expect that if you have a garage someone will regularly park in front of the door because they don't want to walk from the side lot with many open and available parking spots. Expect that neighbors will complain about the noise from everyday life (the volume of jeopardy or your favorite movie or a vacuum cleaner or the dishwasher or led Zeppelin). Expect loud arguments on the balcony from the 3rd floor (for some reason they always have had a problem up there). Expect drunk people in the parking lot regularly at 2am on a Tuesday. Expect girl on girl fist fights in the front lawn from the sisters who are having relations with the same guy. Expect the area near the laundry to always smell strongly of cat feces from the lazy disgusting people who live down there. Expect the unexpected. Expect that management and ownership will not fulfill any reasonable care during your tenancy. The next door tenant to the manager runs a daycare and a weed shop out of their apartment, so also expect children screaming and a cheap but funky smell courtesy of those good people. I was in a sad state of mind and requested that they go over the carpet again even though the men told me that it would look great once dry, yet they obliged.
