I had called Action Heating and Air for my furnace service and found them to be dependable and professional, so I figured I would give them another try. I booked an appointment a few days out and Rick showed up... on time and ready to tackle the a/c inspection. He did brief me on what he would be doing and then quickly got to work (no rush as it was not hot, well not yet anyway). He did his inspection and cleaning of the unit briefing me along the way as to his findings. Once done, he cleaned up the work area and presented me with a very reasonable bill of service. Rick was extremely professional and friendly at all times during the service visit. Friday late afternoon I called back to inquire when my driver may be arriving as I noticed they close at 5:00. Dave Rechtin informed no technician will be coming over as they are busy and that they had ee absenteeism. ("A few called in.") He said if it was an emergency he could have someone arrive Friday night or Saturday. I asked if I would be charged a higher rate and Dave unsympathetically said YES! I was pissed to say the least as I waited all Friday afternoon for what I thought would be a technician making a service call. Dave Rechtin could care less as he replied, "I am sorry you feel that way." After having Rechtin install a compressor and later a HVAC and a 25 plus years of association with them, I have moved on!!! Customer service was absolutely fantastic and Tyler W. was accommodating and gave us clear explanations as to what was wrong. We received a text message with a picture of the employees so we knew who to expect and what they looked like. Arlinghaus has to send another worker out to discuss prices on a new furnace. Tyler was able to get our furnace working temporarily as we look into buying a new furnace. It cost $89 for him to come out and diagnose the problem. They will remove this from any extra work they may need to do. Unfortunately, in the end we could not afford even the lowest option they had for a furnace. They use a top furnace line brand and are more expensive then the national average. This was the only draw back for me that it was to expensive and I did not want to enter into a loan for a $7,000 furnace when the average homeowners pay is $3100. Regardless, they were transparent and did not pressure me into anything we didn't want to do. I highly recommend Arlinghaus for their professionalism and honesty with their customers.
