In my experience most charge an arm and a leg for routine work, and don't have much time on their hands to interact with their customers. After doing some inquiry into Mike's reputation (which was stellar) I decided to give him a call about refretting what was probably my most prized guitar. We spoke for almost an hour in person going back and forth about my options and his recommendations. Ultimately, his recommendation is what I decided to go with. I picked it up a month later for $150 and was told it was the best he could do. The bezel was a terrible fit and the glass i thought was gonna fall out. I took it and called with my concerns. He said bring it back. I took it to a shop in Sellwood. They did a great job. They told me if they couldn't make it better they would not charge me. Why would i bring it back to the same place if that was his best job? I have been going to antique stores since i was 10, over 60 years. I will never recommend that repair shop.
