Great park for early morning sessions if small tranny or some big street drops are your thing…read more Plenty of room for flat ground skating too. It has a mix of terrain, from a concrete mini with a spine to large stair sets and hubbas. My two big complaints are some features are tough to get speed for and one side of the park is completely open, so if your board shoots away, it keeps going until it winds up in the dirt. Originally it had wood features that blocked the open side of the park but those are long gone. It's safe and clean, so bring the kids or get your skills sharp before starting the day. Parents, please remember the park is used by adults too, so make sure your child can at least roll around a little and it's a good bet not to leave them unsupervised so they don't get run over. Adult skaters and BMX riders tend to watch out for the little ones, but you can't see everywhere at once!

For us for only an hour of play and no family open swim...48 dollars for us is a bit steep. 8 dollars for adults 6 for the kids. The upside to this is you get a wrist band and you can come and go if you want. For us this did not work out. Big splash pad area, plenty of chairs and tables to eat a snack, fuax grass to put a blanket down and lay in the warm sun. Great for the younger toddlers and babies. Would not say it's great for the bigger kids, bc they tend to run... and they are pretty strict on the no running. Big pool area, bathrooms are clean. The splash pad area is clean, needs some love picking up leftover trash.... always leave your area cleaner than you found it. We picked up trash to do our part. Knocked off a half star, due to the lifeguard frantic screaming at my 4 year old.... who was having a hard time bc it was time to go.... didn't appreciate the screaming...a simple whistle blow would have gotten his attention and would have been a great distraction for redirecting. Knocked off half star for the extra trash on the side and clean up we had to do for us to feel OK to sit and eat and play. Water shoes a must! Bring a blanket to sit on Hats There is plenty of shade out of the water. Would recommend to others, if you plan on coming back through out the day which is nice to join the family open swim to get your worth. It looks like they turned a baseball field into a Hugh dog park. I like that they were able to repurpose the old field. There's a new baseball diamond near by. They all have grass,not weeds. SPACIOUS AND GRASSY (5 stats)…read more It's so hard to find a good dog park in San Diego that has ample space, separation of big and small dog park, and grassy. It's in the heart of Poway at their civic center that has everything for the community. Lots of community and family public usages for their community-residence and very clean. We had a Pomeranian meetup here and imagine a ton of tiny Poms roaming safely and freely in a very spacious dog for smaller dogs. Occasionally some people brought their small to medium dog that had big dog energy in the area but all owners were respectful and watched their dog's actions. I didn't see a singly poop in the park and it was one of the cleanest dog parks I've been to. Too bad it's a far drive or we would be regulars. This was the first time I seen my new Pomeranian open up and play. She didn't want to leave and kept playing and playing after over an hour being there. I do wish there were some signs. The civic center area is big and we had walked around just to find the dog park section is in the back behind the baseball fields. A good amount of climbing to keep children occupied. With a restroom onsite, not a port o potty - it's a good option to visit for a break or an escape especially for kids. With our luck, we were the only big party there! There were a few families but not crowded at all. There are several sitting areas that are covered which are a free for all and a large covered table which I believe you need to make a reservation with the city. (I did email the city but no response.) There are 2 playground areas. One of which is a toddler area and the other structure is for bigger kids. The park is clean, spacious, and has bathrooms. The parking is a tiny lot but there is ample street parking since it's tucked in a neighborhood. Daytime is safe. Don't know what happens here at night though!

Marcella was our ice angel, she created a wonderful first skating experience for my little one…read more After watching some of the Winter Olympics my four year old daughter wanted to try ice skating. Being new and nervous, it took my daughter 5 minutes to go about 10 feet and when we asked they said they have no buckets or beginner helps to push along. Instead they sent us Marcella who was our angel! She spent 5-10 minutes giving us a beginner tutorial and helped my daughter get off the wall skating on her own. We had so much fun and I loved getting to see my daughter try something new. The facilities and rentals at SD Ice Arena are decent. There weren't many fresh beginners. It was fun to sit on the benches and watch the more experienced skaters when we finished.
